I was trying to wait until the rest of my lashes came in but I've gave up who knows when I'll get them. I like doing collective hauls because I can give you like a first impression opinion instead of just showing you all the stuff I've recieved or bought this month. A lot of this is thanks to gift cards I had saved so that's why there are some expensive pieces in here it's because I had a lot of gift cards especially from Sephora. There will be swatches on the things that I haven't made specific posts about. If there isn't a swatch or review I'll tell you which post to read for it. Here's a quick run down of everything I got. Becca Opal Highlighter Becca Songbird Blush VIB Rouge Birthday Set from NARs Colour Pop Super Shock Shadows Biore Pore Strips Evermore Lashes in Lash Fever Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks DUO Lash Glue (brush on) Sally Hansen Color Foil Nail Polish Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow palette REN One Minute Facial Whipped Body Cream from Ten Digit Creations So first off we'll get into the Becca products. I can say that I'm a fan of this brand now. The Opal highlighter which is a cult favorite these days, I used to go back and forth so many times for a solid two years on whether or not to buy it. Highlighters were never my favorite and I thought that I would have something similar. Well ironically I didn't have something identical. I did have something a little similar but the Becca one is much smoother and soft and better quality I think. The one that was most similar I felt was MAC Soft and Gentle when I really thought it would be Mary Lou Minizer from the Balm. I've provided swatches of them side by side actually so you can see the differences. Becca highlighters are $38 at Sephora. The blush was something I was sooooo excited for. I love blush. I love blush more when it makes you look healthy or sun kissed. This is a deep blush. It's dark coral with a gold sheen in my opinion. I don't know if the fairest of fair skin tones will love it but I do think with a light hand you could still do it. However you know me and you know I always appreciate dramatic makeup. I can not wait to use this in the summer. I love Benefit Coralista in the summer and it's literally about 2 shades darker than that but you look so sunkissed with it. The formula is great I really want to buy more blushes from Becca because they are so nice. This was $32 at Sephora. Next up is the birthday gift by NARs from Sephora. If you are a Beauty Insider no matter the level at Sephora you get a birthday gift the month of your birthday. It's usually a duo but if you're a Rouge member then it's a trio. This year the birthday gift is a matte lip pencil and satin lip pencil from NARS with a eyeliner as the third gift for Rouge members. I can say this is one of the best gifts I've recieved so far in the birthday gifts. From top to bottom it's: Satin lip pencil in Rikugien Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella Eyeliner in Via Vineto Rikugien is a super wearable mauve pink. It's neutral and everyday appropriate and I think it's an amazing color. The formula is thin and glossy in my opinion so carry it with you for touch ups. Cruella is a beautiful red and that really says a lot comig from me. I'm not the biggest fan of red or "true" reds rather. This is perfect because I don't feel like it's very bright I think it's a little bit darker which to me is easier to pull off. The formula is great too. It feels smooth and lasts fairly well. Via Venito is your basic black eyeliner pencil. It's mechanical do it twists up from the bottom and has a small sharpener on the end. I have a full size in Via d Martelli I believe (brown) it's alright but I don't think it transfers well and seems very dry. However this is much better it transfers perfect and is true to its color in the packaging. The Colour Pop Cosmetics shadows have their own seperate post so please check that out for prices, swatches and thoughts. The Biore pore strips are an oldy but a goody. I've used these for years and they really are the best way at removing black heads for me. Mostly on my nose although I do use them on my chin and forehead some. I'm very prone to blackheads and no matter what I use I can't keep them away unless I use these weekly or every two weeks. I believe these are $6 at Walmart. The EverMore Lashes and ABH Liquid Lipsticks have seperate posts so please check those out if you're curious. The Duo Lash Glue was something I picked up from Sephora. It has Vitamins in this certain kind and has a brush applicator instead of a squeeze tube like the original. I don't know how I feel about it. It's usually liked more than the original because you can really limit how much glue you put on but I never had a problem putting glue on with the squeeze tube. The one thing I do like is that because you are putting a lot less glue it dries insanely fast. So before I'd have to let them sit for 20-30 seconds to get tacky before putting them on and now I have to work fast. So I put glue on one strip and apply before I do the other strip. I feel like you almost don't get enough glue on the brush though because it dries so fast that sometimes I'm still trying to put glue on it still and one side will already be dry. To each their own though. This was $9. The Color Foil nail polish was something I picked up at Kroger. It's a fantastic gold color and there were other metal type colors you could choose from. This is best used without a base or top coat (I swear! It even says it on the bottle) and dries super fast. As far as gold polish goes Im set for the rest of my life. This was actually a suggestion from my mom. So kudos to you Momma for that good eye. It was $6 when I bought it. The Hourglass palette has a seperate post as well so look into that if you're curious. REN One Minute Facial was a freebie. It's a very very odd product. You massage it onto the skin then wet you fingers and massage over it again to activate the Vitamin C. It tingles and almost burns I think while it sits on the skin for a minute. Then you rinse it off and it's like an all in one express facial I guess. My skin does feel really really clean but I feel like I get the same effect from my cleansers that have Salicylic Acid in them. Last, but not least, is the Whipped Body Cream from Ten Digit Creations. I got this off Etsy because I was looking for a lemon pastry/cake/cookie scent in a lotion. I also love trying out different indie companies on Etsy too because I think the quality is lots better than mass produced items sometimes. This is a cake smell first with a lemon after scent. I didn't like it when I smelt it in the jar but when I used it I could smell the lemon more and really started to like it. The cream itself is super thick and heavy which I really like and even after using it more than 8 hours ago I can still smell it faintly. I got a 2 oz bottle for $5 shipping not included.

Eyes: ABH Blanc, Smoke, Bengal, and Red Earth top lid only Colour Pop: Dare lower lashline Red Cherry Lashes in 213 MUG Immortal Gel Liner Face: Diorskin Star Foundation MAC Careblend pressed powder MUG blush in Bliss Becca Opal highlighter Lips: ColourPop lip pencil in Feminist and Wifey MAC Smoked Purple lipstick This week my stand out product is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks. I've discussed them so much lately that I won't go into great detail again. I have 5 shades Vamp, Pure Hollywood, Lovely, Sweet Talker, and Retro Coral. They're pretty much the only thing I've been wearing for the past week and a half. I do think it's advisable to put on some lip balm before you apply them because where they're matte they show any dryness you make have on your lips. They're $20 and if you have a pro discount it does apply. You can buy them on the Anastasia website or Macy's website. Have a great week! This is one of those looks that you aren't completely sure about until your totally finished and you got the lipstick and lashes on. Speaking of lipstick, I do think that this is about the only color lipstick other than a nude peachy pink that would go with this eye. However, there are no rules so do what ever makes you happy. Eyes: Colour Pop Cosmetics: Animal and Ibiza ABH: Dragonfly, Noir, and Fresh Peach Loreal: Amber Rush (for inner corner highlight) Red Cherry Lashes in 213 ABH shadow in Smoke for brows (really loving this as well, so much easier and natural) Face: MUFE HD foundation in 117 ABH Contour Kit Smashbox blush in Radiance Lips: ABH Liquid Lipstick in Retro Coral **earrings are Bauble Bar which happen to be having a sale right now I believe. The previous post was all about my thoughts on the Super Shock Shadows from Colour Pop. Here is a look I done with a few of them. Eyes: CP shadows in Dare, Fantasy, and Slave2Pink applied mainly with ring finger ABH shadows in Noir and Dusty Rose ABH dip brow Red Cherry Lashes in 747s Face: Diorskin Star Foundation with a drop of Fresh Seaberry Oil. Tip from Wayne Goss. Becca Singbird Blush Becca Opal ABH Contour Kit Lips: ABH liquid lipstick in Lovely Today I recieved 6 of the Colour Pop Super Shock shadows. As you know I'm a big fan of Colour Pop. Them Lippie Pencils give me life. So of course I was all down for trying some eyeshadows. Especially when I seen all the bright colors. They have tons of shadows with finishes ranging from Metallic, Satin, Pressed Pigment, Matte and a couple more I think. I got the brightest colors I could and they were mostly pressed pigments line. The shades I got were: Ibiza: a teal blue Fizz: a bright green with yellow glitter Slave2Pink: bright hot pink with a bluish purple duo chrome and glitter Dare: a cool toned medium purple Fantasy: a fuchsia purple. It's very warm purple I think. Animal: an orange coral. Like a orange in a dreamscicle. The formula of this is like a mousse. It's super pigmented so much so that almost leaves a stain if you wipe it off. I have to use makeup remover with them for sure. It's very thin and feels wet almost. It's strange to explain but they are awesome. No fallout. Very sparkly. It's like you have glitter on your lids without having to mess with glitter. I find they are best applie with your finger. Using a brush takes a little more work I find. I'm so impressed. They're $5 a shadow. You get a lot of product in one shadow so you won't run out anytime soon. You have to order them online and I find that it's usually around a week before they ship. Well worth it though. If you spend $30 you get free shipping which is $4.99. If you haven't shopped there before sign up for emails and get $5 off your first order. I FINALLY got the other two lipsticks I had ordered from ABH. I couldn't be more pleased. I got Retro Coral which is like a sherbert color of orange in my opinion and then Lovely with is a perfect everyday mauve. If you are sure about Pure Hollywood then I encourage you to look at Lovely as a neutral everyday color cause it's so nice. Retro Coral I am super pleased with I have nothing that looks like it and I think for summer it's going to be a go to color. The only thing I noticed was that it streaked just slightly over my lips. I applied Chapstick before hand but I did have to work with Retro Coral a little more than the others. It's still amazing and perfect it's just a brighter color and obviously my natural lip color isn't coral so that's why it needed a little more application than say Sweet Talker, another bright color. They're available on www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com and Macy's. They're $20 each and there are 19 shades with one more on the way. A few days ago I did a post about the Hourglass Modernist Palette in Color Field. So I done two seperate looks using the palette to show how they look on the eye and blended. The palette will be available on the 18th and there is about 7 or 8 different ones in the collection. Just because I chose green doesn't mean you have to as well. The first set of pictures is much more neutral and lighter. Really awesome for a easy everyday look. The second set is a much more dramatic look with the focus of the whole eye being the 2 green colors in the palette. This isn't all you could do with the palette either you could use the green as a pop of color on the lower lashline only or whatever you wanted. I just didn't want to do tons of looks and get tired of it already. I was really loving J Lo's look for the Golden Globes. It's so on trend with the cool toned eyes right now and plus it was so super smokey! Like the smokey eye that started the smokey eye trend years ago with black smudged liner when everyone thought you could only do grey or black to be smokey. Luckily we have progressed from that but I must say that it was so refreshing to see it again with a twist. It was a charcoal smokey eye with touches of plum around it. Plus I must say that charcoal grey looks very flattering on brown eyes. It makes them so much lighter. Eyes: ABH Noir, Dusty Rose and Violet Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes pencil in 21L smudged on the top lash line Nars Eyeliner in Via Venito to tightline and smudge on the lower lash line and top lash line. ABH dip brow in Medium Brown Red Cherry Lashes in 213 Face: Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation ABH Contour Kit Becca Opal Highlighter Becca Songbird blush Lips: ABH liquid lipstick in Pure Hollywood Smashbox lipgloss in Pout You may or may not have hear that Hourglass Cosmetics were putting out eyeshadow palettes. So when I got an email that I could get one before they released I jumped on it because you just can't say no to Hourglass. Not to mention if you're a fan of Wayne Goss you've already heard how insanely good they are. All the more reason to invest in one. The palette I got is Color Field. There are 8 different ones I do believe and for you neutral lovers out there, you have a good selection. However, having an absolute ton of neutral palettes all the Urban Decay Naked palettes so on and so forth I was like give me some color. I do not have a ton of green shadows. I have a few but not a lot and I think green is incredibly pretty to wear. So thus I chose Color Field which has some really pretty neutrals and some olive tones being the star of the show. These shades are not named individually as the are not single shadows. The palette is gorgeous as well as every other Hourglass product that's out. Same sleek packaging as the ambient blush palette and the ambient lighting palette. The product is the softest and smoothest eyeshadows I've felt. There is one matte, 2 satins, and 2 shimmers. The shimmers have tiny flecks of glitter in them the olive shade has a gold duo chrome. The darkest shade is a forest green with an olive duo chrome is what it looks like to me however very subtle. The satin shades are warm in tone one being more golden and then a bronzey medium brown. The matte is a perfect match to my skin tone which is why you can barely see it. They retail for $58 and will be available on the 18th. |
