Happy Veterans Day! My favorite veteran is my Papaw Aaron (what a nice name), he's a WWII Vet, stormed the beaches of Normandy, sniper, machine gun instructor, so on so forth. He often times tells me I'm his greatest friend, always calls me "little'n", tells me he loves me when everyone else just gets "appreciated" lol, and always checks on me to se if I'm feeling ok. He's 94 and probably in better health than me. I love him dearly so today I took him some donuts, his favorite. I didn't get to stay long but I got to bring him dinner last week and shoot with him the week before (and he's a better shot than me). I just wanted to tell you about him for a minute since this day is to honor the ones that have risked and laid down their lives to protect us and our freedom. I'll add a picture of him so you can see just how special he is. Today's makeup is from the NARs and God Created Woman palette. Or however it's worded. It's a gradient light to deep warm brown eye. I love this look and I really don't do it very much. I used to do it all the time and then I just felt like I was being too basic. Now I rarely do it, which is sad because it's so classic. Enough chit chat lets get into it. Eyes: God Created Woman palette literally every color except the grey. I start out with a creamy beige color in the first half of the lid. Then a nice medium bronze on the center of the lid. In the outer corner I used the really warm brown glittery shade. The matte dark brown is on the outer corner into the crease. The black glittery color is smudged on the lashline and up some. Bobbi Brown Camel eyeshadow as transition color. Hourglass Ambient powder in Diffused Light as my brow bone highlight. I love this lipstick. The formula is amazing for starters and this color is perfect. It's not completely opaque which I like. It has color don't get me wrong but it's not like paint. It has no smell which I really appreciate, and it's got plenty of shine. It's not matte if that's what you want you should try something else. I've wore it several times this week so look at those posts if you'd like to see it. Have a great week! Tonight I really don't feel great so I went and played in my makeup to distract myself. I'm obsessed with pop art Makeup. Well actually I'm obsessed with makeup that Altars you from looking human. I love Pop art and comic inspired makeup cause it's super easy and transforms you with very little effort. I used Maybelline gel liner and white fact paint to re-draw my brows. I made an ombre lip with Sephora's lip stain in 07 and Bite Beauty lip stick in VIB Rouge. Other than the lines I drew on the face that's pretty much all I done. I can see myself doing more of these later on. Maybe this can be a new series? I like it. It's super cold today here in Tennessee. I busted out my chunky sweaters and everything before Matt and I went out. Let's get this out of the way, I love this boutique. They are very different from the other boutiques you see online. There stuff is always unique. My favorite is their dresses I love their dresses so much. I've just recently started buying their tops. They have sexy but not too over the top sexy clothes in my opinion. The dresses can get super sexy but I usually think there is a time and a place for everything so I have no problem with that. I just can't tell you how much I adore this site. They do flash sales every couple months. Lots of times anywhere from 60-75% off for 24-48 hrs. So sign up for their emails to get notified for that. It's usually the items they pick that are on sale but considering I love almost everything from their store I'm usually down for anything they put on sale. You have to act fast though if you're going to order from the sale though because it sells out quickly. You can also get free domestic shipping from them with the code "#lovedainty". So go check them out. You have Erin's seal of approval. High waist dark skinny jeans from AE since this top is a wrap top there is no fabric in the center so you can see your stomach certain ways that you move. So I used high waist jeans since it's cold I didn't want much skin at all showing. Camel Studded Pyramid Heels. These are available at Urbanog, Go Jane, and Agaci. These are Valentino Rockstud inspired heels. They are wildly popular and of course other companies have started imitating it and I really love these. Wire Gemstone Bangles from The Boutique. Monogram Watch from Etsy. Lately I've been really into blow drying my hair and styling as I go. Basically doing my version of a blow out. My good friend Savannah done this to my hair when she colored it weeks ago and ever since I've been trying to replicate it. I can tell you that I'm no where as good as she is but I still like the result I'm getting myself.
First I use Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Boost. Pretty much just like a root pump only this is a spray and not foam like you often see. I spray this all over the crown at the base and then some underneath. Next I use my hair dryer to dry the roots of my hair. I don't use a brush or anything just my fingers. I get the base good and dry and flip my hair over and dry the underneath. Then I take my paddle brush and start to pull the hair out straight to get it good and dry I use and Wet and Dry paddle brush. I have super long hair and a lot of it so that's why I use my paddle brush it's just easier and doesn't tangle as much. A regular paddle brush is not to be used on wet hair. After that I start picking pieces of the hair up with the roller brush and blowdrying the curl in as I go. I curl away from the face and I just keep rolling the curl in as I go down the hair with the blowdryer. I'd also like to point out that I keep the blowdryer pointed down the whole time to avoid frizz. I don't use a special nozzle or anything so I just keep it facing down as I use it. Lastly I use L'Oreal Boost It Spray. This is mega high lift volumizing spray. It's basically back comb in a bottle. I spray it underneath the section of hair I was to have extra lift. I also flip the hair over and spray it at the base. This stuff is potent and heavy duty, so I usually only use it twice a week cause it's easy for me to get build up with it. That's all I do for this look. You can totally add rollers in or hot rollers or whatever you want but this works well for me with no extra heated tools needed. I will say that I use LUSH Big Shampoo sometimes when I know I'm just gonna do a blowout cause it's super volumizing as well. I did happen to use it today before I done this look so it's worth mentioning. |
