It's time for the April Allure Beauty Box which is in collaboration with Carli Bybel. This is a really good box this month, spoiler. As always, Allure sends me these boxes. I don't have to post about them but I want to that way it may help you see what is in them each month and decide if you would enjoy it. There's a tab under "Categories" on this blog, for the Allure Boxes specifically that has the other months in it. The links in this blog post will be affiliate links. You don't have to use them of course.
I was asked an interesting question this month from a follower who wanted to know if I thought this box was better than another popular subscription beauty box. I answered truthfully and said yes because what I find that's different with the Allure box vs most other subscriptions (with the exception of a few), is these are brands you'll find in Sephora, Ulta, and in magazines. They're popular brands. They're often products that are part of the "Allure Best of Beauty Awards" each year. Many times they are more "luxury" products and there have been several that were full size luxury products and just here lately even some unreleased products. So for $10 for your first box and $15 a month after that, I think each box does an incredible job more often than not. There have been just a few that I've not been impressed with ever since they started.
So getting into this box:
Full Size Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in "Pure Hollywood". I have this shade already but it's probably a cult favorite in this line. It was in the first colors they launched when they done liquid lipstick. It's the perfect nude. This is $20 on it's own.
Natasha Denona Mono Eye Shadow. This is $27 on it's own. This was the most surprising thing in the box for me. I knew there had been luxury items in boxes before but Natasha Denona is what I think of when I think "luxury" makeup. The shade I have is a metallic bronze shade and it's stunning. I have several of her palettes and there is an amazing coupon code in the pamphlet for the Sunset palette. Unreal. There may be different shades in other boxes.
I got the Moda Metallics Triad Eye Brush in this box which I'd gotten in a previous one, I saw others who had gotten a Luxy (?) brush in their box. This is a good brush to pack on eyeshadow in the outer V of the eye. This is $5.
Laura Geller Inkcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil. This is full size. I have the shade Purple Rain and I understand that the shades will vary from box to box. This is really cool. I've not tried any Laura Geller products actually. I use colorful liners in the water line mostly or as a base for my eyeshadow sometimes. This is $22.
BrioGeo Farewelll Frizz Rosaraco Milk Leave-In Conditioning Spray. (How much longer could you have made that name guys? lol) This is a deluxe/travel size. I have it in a full size. It smells amazing and I do use it now that I have lighter hair because I notice that my hair gets more frizz now than before. It's another cult favorite it seems. A full size would be $20 I think.
Vita Liberata Phenomenal Organic Tan Infused Cloths. You get two of these. I actually used one the day I got it and it did a great job! To the point that I will happily purchase them. The cloths are much bigger than I expected and really saturated. They come in individual sachets/pouches. It takes 4-8 hours to fully develop. It's a really nice medium golden tan. These are $25 for a pack of 8 or $39 for a pack of 16.
With nearly every product in here there's also a coupon code in the pamphlet to receive a percentage off your order if you'd like to purchase from this or that brand. Probably going to use that for the tanning cloths just FYI. You also get a totally clear plastic bag/clutch this time.
I think Carli did a fantastic job. I've watched her for years, even before I started this blog. She has really stayed true to herself and all of these products make perfect sense to me. The only thing missing would've been like Scott Barnes "Body Bling" or a body luminizer or something.
