Saddle up partners let's get grey. So I went on a date with my best Frand tonight to watch Fifty Shades of Grey. Of course my makeup was grey as well. Eyes: Mug: hipster, Moondust and corrupt ABH smoke Urban decay eye liner in Uzi for waterline Mug immortal gel liner ABH dip brow Face: Laura mercier oil free foundation Mac warm soul blush Tarte smooth operator powder in tan Lips Lasplash cosmetics ghoulish So I FINALLY got my order from LA Splash. I've been interested in their Lip Coutures for a while especially the colour Ghoulish since "Greige" is so popular right now. I've also been searching for a rich red so I also bought Vampire. There was also Malevolent and Untamed but Vampire seemed different and not as talked about. These are $12 I believe or a little under. They have lots of colors and in their new line the names are all from the Harry Potter books which I FREAKING LOVE! Don't judge me on my love for Harry Potter because I will always be a part of Dumbledores Army in my mind. Before I get off on a tangent about Harry Potter though lets get back to the lipsticks. As you know the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks are all anyone talks about and before that Kat Von D was getting a lot of recognition for hers as well. I have 5 of the ABH ones. I love them. I wear them daily. I do think that these are going to last a little longer than the Anastasia ones. Just because they're slightly thinner more liquid and more tacky. Now with saying that they dry completely matte I leave my mouth open for about 30 seconds to let them dry. Also on the darker one I go over it several times to make sure it's one color all over the lips. These are hard to get off. You definitely need an oil or oil based remover. They also are drying but as is most liquid lipsticks. Really really love these. Give them 2 thumbs up. Theyre about $6 for shipping. It took me a while to get mine. Over two weeks but I do believe that was mainly the post office. I like to step out of my comfort zone from time to time which oddly enough is crazy and colorful makeup and makeup art. I feel good in those and I thoroughly enjoy doing them. However Im not as comfortable with cut creases or half cuts and straightened out winged liner. I rarely do them and as you know I rarely do liner. So today I was wanting something neutral but dramatic and edgy. This is what I came up with. The colors are basic but the technique is difficult. Eyes: ABH Red Earth, Metal, Smoke MUG Peach Smoothie and Immortal gel liner Lena Lashes style Bianca ABH Dip Brow in Medium Brown Face: NARS foundation (all day luminous whatever) seriously why the long name? ABH Contour Kit MAC Warm Soul Blush Becca Opal Lips ABH Pure Hollywood and Vamp mixed So recently I've been using liquid products to contour and highlight. Cream contours are on the rise every brand is putting their version out but you accomplish the same effect with drugstore products from foundations to concealers. So today I'm using the Maybelline Fit Me foundation to contour and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer to highlight. In this section of pictures Im just contouring. I'm using a pointed synthetic brush to apply to foundation in the areas I want to be darker. I'm also using the Matte and Poreless formula of foundation not sure it makes a difference but I wanted to try it out. I'm taking a tapered Kabuki foundation brush to blend the lines. When I blend the cheeks I always blend up and not down. You can use your finger to blend the nose if you want. In this set of pictures Im using the applicator on the Age Rewind Concealer. The shade is "Neutralizer" it's a yellow shade. Then I used a seperate Kabuki brush to blend that out. I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush but you can use what ever you like. Then I apply my foundation as normal. This is a very subtle contour and highlight so since I like mine a little more dramatic I still powder contour over it. So really for me this acts as a base for a more dramatic contour. You can also you the Chanel Bronze Universail cream bronzer to get the same subtle effect if you want. I'm snowed in at my house. Thus, lots of work being done on my blog and such. Today I kept it neutral. Eyes: MUG Moondust and Prom night ABH Red Earth, Deep Plum, Bengal, Blanc MAC Whisper Pink pigment in the corner Lena Lashes style Elle Face: Diorskin Star Foundation MAC Modern Mandarin Blush ABH Contour Kit MAC Lightscape Highlighter Lips: ABH Liquid Lipstick Vamp and Lovely mixed So I'm snowed in but it's cool because we like having romantic date nights at home. So our Valentines Day is today after such a hectic weekend. This dress: Go Jane The shoes: BCBG suede nude pumps Earrings: Bauble Bar I'm back with another haul of things that I purchased for and from this past weekend and through out the month. I won't ramble lets just get into it. Let's start with the MAc products which im very excited about. I got two blushes. On the top is MAC Modern Mandarin blush. It's a satin finish and very very bright as you can see. Reminds me of BH Cosmetics Tulip blush the matte side. Only better. I've always wanted this and I can't wait to use this with a tan. I feel like I'm gonna use this quite a bit in the summer. On the bottom is MAC Warm Soul Mineralize Blush. I've never had a mineralize blush before from MAC they've just never been my thing. However, if you watch Batalash Beauty particularly Samantha she talked about this constantly until Kat Von D Wish blush took over. So I bought it completely on her recommendation and I must say I've used it twice now and it's so pretty. Very natural and glowy. It's like a tan with a golden sheen to it. Makes you look super healthy and sunkissed. Probably won't be able to wear it when I'm tan but that's ok cause we all need a blush for when we're pale. On the top is MAC Lightscape Mineralize Skinfinish. Not only is it very pretty in the container it's actually a very unique highlighter in a color that I didn't have. It's hard to tell on the swatch but it's a pearly white/pale pale pink. Super versatile and all around very pretty. Being so light in color though it's a good thing it's kinda sheer cause it makes it work with my skin tone quite nice. On the bottom is MAC Shaping Powder pro pan in Emphasize. I ordered this for this past weekend's event. It's very very light. Has the smallest amount satin finish and I use it to set the under eye area. I like ABH Banana Powder too but I wanted this for more options. This is actually a blotting powder. The color is Dark/Deep it's completely matte obviously and I bought it to contour the face. So far I've really liked it. These two bad boys I got for my kit to take this weekend. One is matte and poreless and the other one is just regular formula of the Maybelline Fit Me foundations but a new shade. I've also been using them to contour underneath u foundation some and really been liking the looks of it. On the swatches the top is 335 and the bottom is 360. The 335 is the Matte and Poreless formula. I got these glitters from Glitter Injections. They were 6.99 a piece and I absolutely love them. In the swatches from left to right is Angel Kiss, Mystic Butterfly, and Peacock. They're the most unique and prettiest glitters I've ever seen. I've used two of them already and I just absolutely love them. I got three OCC Stained Glosses on sale at Sephora. The shades on the swatches from left to right is Androgyne, New Wave, and Decadent. I really like these. They are sheer though so definitely need something under them. The other things I got were: Ben Nye Final Seal setting spray which is used a lot in stage makeup to set body paint and help sweating along with setting makeup. You need to keep your eyes closed for several seconds after you spray to let it settle and not get in your eye. RCMA No Color Powder. This is a relatively cheap nothing fancy powder but it doesn't oxidize the foundation and sets the makeup beautifully and you don't look cakey or anything. It's a hidden gem really. NARs Foundation that I have a whole blog post on including swatches. Ardell Lashes Wispies. I'd never had this style and you hear so much about them so I bought a pair just to see how it goes. I've not tried them as of yet though. Finally the last thing I got was L'Oreal New Volume Filler Densifying Gelée. It's to use when you blow out your hair. I used it this weekend I didn't notice any difference but I'm gonna give it another chance here soon and maybe it'll work. Just so you know you may be seeing glitter for a while cause I'm obsessed with Glitter Injections glitter. Eyes: MUG: Envy, Corrupt, Chickadee and Mermaid Glitter Injections: Mystic Butterfly Brows ABH Dip Brow Evermore Lashes in Lash Fever Face: NARs All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation MAC Warm Soul Blush MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscape Lips: ColourPop Wet and Brills mixed This week my stand out product was my Paw Palette. I got this off Etsy after seeing it on Instagram. I love that it's the shape of lips. After it was all said and done it was about $25 shipping and all but it saved my neck at the pageant event. It's so easy it just fits onto your hand or over your wrist to free up your other hand while working on a client. Have a good week! |
