Let's talk about something I've been LOVING lately, which is the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette. I know you hear or see "Dior" and the head tilts.... at least for me anyway because I start to think of the price. What I'm happy to say is that the "backstage" line is actually not nearly as expensive as you'd think. I bought this face palette in one of the Sephora sales. I've had it for well over a month and I've not put it down. Especially buying it during a Sephora sale made it even better because regularly it's $45 which I don't feel is bad, but another 20% off makes it $36. Like I said, I love this palette. It has 4 shades, 2 highlight shades, 1 pink blush, 1 copper blush (although I'm going to refer to it as a bronzer for myself, even though it is officially stated as a blush online.). All of them look like a satin finish in the pan and in the swatches too. This is where it's strange. It doesn't look that way when applied. It also doesn't look super appealing in the packaging. It looks average. It doesn't jump out of you. I don't think it's meant to though, I feel like the "backstage" line is like their "pro" or "core" products for their shows. So they've put together the tried and true formulas and shades that are most complimentary. Also, as I mentioned the shades look like a satin finish in the pan which makes sense because it's a "glow" palette. In no way do they look that way on the face though. It's just a natural and beautiful finish. The highlights have a sheen to them on the cheek but nothing intense. The pigment of the bronzer/"blush" when applied, is actually quite dark. I use it with a light hand. I love the color of it though, it's not overly warm it's just perfect. The pink blush is more of a "healthy" pink flush to the cheeks, not a bright pop of pink. I really love mixing the shades to get different colors. The highlights, like I said, are more subtle with one being more champagne in color and one being nearly white in the pan. They have a contour palette as well that is definitely matte and I am going to pick it up as well. I'm so glad I got the face palette first though. It's so simple and easy, it blends like a dream, I've had no issues with it and I love how it makes the skin look healthy but still sculpted. I recommend it to everyone who asks and nearly all of them just aren't impressed by looking at it, until I make them try it and then they change their minds. I think it is so underrated and basically an unsung hero. It's THE BEST face palette I've used in 2018 and I don't expect anything to top it.
