So lately all I've been buying is products that I'm genuinely interested in trying, I also try to keep it makeup related unless I'm out of a skincare product. Only because I receive a lot more skincare than I do makeup, so I try not not to focus on skincare and just focus on makeup I can review. Or, I finally buy products that I wanted for a long time.

Greetings everyone! I am running on very little sleep. So bear with. I hope that you've had the chance or you're going to partake in the Sephora Appreciation Sale. VIB and Insiders get to shop on the 30th. VIB Rouge started on the 26th and it all ends on Sept 3rd. So anyway, I hadn't bought anything from Sephora in a while. I've been doing the majority of my shopping on ULTA but I hadn't even bought from ULTA in quite a few months. I decided to treat myself and buy things that I had been eyeing for a while and just never purchased. I also kept it in the makeup realm just because I don't need any skincare at the moment.
Sephora has been doing weekly sales but they always have a pretty decent selection of sale products in general. Ulta does plenty of sales but for this post specifically it's products I've seen in their sale sections. I also stuck with makeup for this one. I like for skincare to be something I can personally recommend.
Recently I've gotten quite a few makeup products and seeing as I talk a lot about skincare on here it seems, I thought it'd be nice to discuss them briefly and let you know how it's going.
Guys....I'm having such a good day. I hope you are too. I've fell down the rabbit hole of Twitter and I can't stay off of it. Also, professionally it's already been a fantastic week and it's only Tuesday. So I'm so excited.
Anyway, why we're here today is to do a Brand Overview of Dr. Roebucks. As you know, I've loved them for quite a while. Basically right before they went on Sephora is when I became acquainted with them and they're lovely. I can honestly sit here and tell you that there is not a single product I don't like and there is only one product that I don't own. The sale is over, Christmas is coming up. It's absolute chaos with all the dang sales we're seeing. This year has beat anything I've ever seen Black Friday wise and Holiday sales. I'm not complaining but I gotta pump the breaks. So lets talk about what I did actually pick up for the Friends and Family sale.
I've got to play with most of it so I can actually give you my thoughts on a little of it too. Alright everyone, it's that time of year. Sephora Friends and Family event starts TOMORROW on the 3rd. I have a previous post where I really go in depth, which I will link here, of what I think would be great buys or what I personally would get. This is going to be a quick top 10 post though of things I would get, taking into consideration what is new and what is going to be the best deal. Of course skincare comes first for me andddddddd.....there's something special for you guys as well.
Not done a haul in a minute, so lets do one! I was going to wait until next week but I thought it would be best to do it now so that it's not super overwhelming and "too much" infomation. So this is going to be a skincare haul. Some of the stuff was sent so I will put * beside those so that you know. Some of these have been tried and some have not.
Haul Pt 1 Skincare.
First, this is a collective haul. I don't want you getting all upset that I had a big hoo-rah and bought a ton of stuff (which even if I did, what does it matter?). I give that disclaimer because you know how people are, they get offended or mouthy about anything and everything. So with that sass out of the way lets talk about this. The reason I do "collective hauls" is because I like giving you my first thoughts on these things after I've tried them, or studied on them for a while or even for a few days. Where as in a video you just show it and you move on. That doesn't really work on a blog. I also like to have quite a bit of stuff to talk about before I consider it a "haul" but it needs to be recent. So this is over the past few weeks of accumulating stuff. So lets get into this. No particular order
Ok so that's the skincare haul! I do have another one cooking up. I think it's already up to 11 or 12 products but to be fair some of those will be sent for testing purposes. The reason this is Part 1 is because Part 2 is going to be makeup. Maybe I'll do a "monthly roundup" of all my skincare and makeup that I've gotten. Perhaps that would be a better title than "haul". So this post is what I like to call "The Best Press On Nails Known to Man". I love press on nails. I play guitar, type a lot (obviously), and play piano and it's awkward and almost impossible doing some or all of those things with long nails. So I love nails that I can just pop on and off at my convenience and the best part I CAN RE-USE THEM AGAIN.
So I stumbled upon this shop on Etsy called Nail Muse. They have affordable nails and really cool styles from neutral to bold. I love that as well. I ordered a set of foiled nails and then she actually sent me two other sets along the way. So all together I have 4 sets of nails. I prefer Coffin nail shape. I'm a size small because I have super short nail beds. I also like the Oval shape, I've had those. I'm a fan of basically every nail shape actually. From Square to Stiletto and in between I like them all but Coffin is my favorite. These nails are salon quality. They're thicker than normal press on nails that are flimsy and thin. Definitely not cheap looking or cheap feeling. So the quality is A+ as well. I use a salon glue to attach them to my nails so that it's a stronger hold and doesn't pop off as easy as other drugstore nail glues. These actually look better on my nails than acrylic or gel nails. They don't even look like press on nails. They aren't as thick as acrylic or gel nails can be on the nail bed so to me that looks better. So here's how I like to wear them. I love these for events or date nights. Basically anytime I wanna step it up a notch and especially if I'm wearing a lot of rings and bracelets that's going to draw attention to my hands. My natural nail bed is wide and not cute. I don't want to walk around with chipped nail polish because I am so lazy when it comes to keeping up with a manicure. Plus they may my fingers look longer and more dainty. So I love the convenience for these. I'm gonna leave some pictures down below of how they look. If you like press on nails then I think you would LOVE these. Check it out on Instagram Nail Muse: @lydiaelize Me: @lovemascara |
