Next installment in my wearable Halloween looks is Purple and Green. So first up is a perfect Halloween look in my opinion. The above picture is just using the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix palette mainly. I used a black base to make it super dark purple I added a white base under the green part. I also added a touch of orange to blend above the purple which doesn't look orange at all it just makes the purple pop a little more cause they are complementary colors on the color wheel. It's a dramatic eye so I made it straight and harsh with a winged liner and cleaned up around it. I used Iconic lashes from House of Lashes. Lip gloss is Dainty from ABH. Next is an even more wearable purple look. The top lid is more neutral you could use what ever you wanted like gold or copper, peach, or even brown the bottom lash line is the pop of color so I used MUG Wisteria and duo chrome in Black Light over top to make it "glow". Lashes are House of Lashes "Boudoir" . Lip are again Dainty from ABH but Vintage would be good too. I like mauve lips to make it more wearable. This last look is a wearable green look. I'm using MUG shadows in Cocoa Bear, Creme Brulee, and Mocha in the crease to make it very warm. Then I used Typhoon duo-chrome. Which is a golden green, on the entire lid and lash line. Boudoir lashes from House of Lashes. Lips are ABH Pure Hollywood lipstick and Gilded gloss.
You can obviously go more extreme or brighter with any of these looks. I know that some people aren't comfortable with that and I want you to feel good and confident in your makeup so I wanted to add some really wearable looks. The next and last installment is going to be BLACK.

It's Halloween season and you don't want, or can't dress up for work or what have you but you still want to be festive. It's the perfect time to play with colors and get out of your comfort zone with makeup. So I'm doing a series of Halloween appropriate wearable makeup by color. This one being Orange, obviously. The look above it s a brown smokey eye with an Orange foiled look. I used the Morphe 35 Smokey palette for this. I'm not sure if that's still what it's called but it's a very colorful palette that has a range of mattes and shimmers of all colors. So I use mainly browns and then put shimmery or foiled browns over top of that on the outer half, then I used a foiled copper color and then a foiled orange. You can go straight into foiled orange though. Mine is really smokey your don't have to make yours as smokey if you don't want but I do recommend using the orange on the lower lash line because it's very pretty. I used House of Lashes Iconic lashes. Then I went with a burgundy lip which is ABH liquid lipstick in Vamp. This look is really really dramatic. It's for my girls that have a steady hand and more time. It's a cut you like a knife crease, harsh winged liner and glitter. For the crease I used: MUG: Corrupt, Mocha, and Poppy (Mocha first to trace out the wing in the crease, Poppy to blend and use above the line you just drew, corrupt to go back in and darken that wing from where it's been blended slightly.) On the lid: MUG Hologram duochrome pigment with a wet flat stiff straight line brush and placed all the way to the end of the crease wing Violet Voss glitter in Rosalind Immortal Gel Liner from MUG but any black gel liner will work and I bring it up and connect it to that crease wing. Lilly Lashes in Mykonos Lower Lashline: Poppy used first and the Corrupt over top Lips: Colour Pop: Pacific This last look is really glamorous and pretty but still festive.
Eyes: ABH shadows in Violet, China Rose, Bengal, and Fresh Peach. (Violet is on the inner and outer corners of the lid. China Rose in the center for a halo eye. Bengal and Fresh Peach in the crease) Beauty Bar Baby Glitter: Fantasy gllitter (gorgeous) Lilly Lashes in Mykonos Lips: ABH Lovely liquid lipstick and Vintage gloss. I have been collecting Halloween makeup and what not for about 3 weeks or so. I had some from last year but this year I really stepped it up. Last year was my first time really experimenting with sfx or artistry, I wasn't sure how to go about it and so I just got a lot of Wal-Mart halloween makeup to just see how it went. I really loved it and it became a great outlet for me so this year I got some legit stage makeup and sfx things So I got artist brushes to not ruin any my actual makeup brushes. These are inexpensive. I ordered them from Amazon but you can get some in the craft section at Wal-Mart, at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Or any craft store I would assume. I got several colored Hair Sprays from Wal-Mart again, you can also get them from Frends Beauty that are probably a little better quality. I got a bunch of Ben Nye products: Cream colors in Blue, Violet, and White. Aqua Cake paints in White and Lime Green. Thick Blood. A primary color wheel. I love the Thick Blood for SFX wounds it's amazing. I like the Aqua Paints really well too. The cream colors I'm on the fence with they tend to smear on me and I lose my coverage. I'm going to use them for a Corpse Bride look this week though so that will be the real test. I got all the Ben Nye stuff from Frends Beauty. Snazaroo face paint in black. This I apply with a wet sponge. I really like it. It's huge and it's not very expensive. I got mine from Amazon and I think I'll get the other primary colors in it. Vampire Blood and black cream paint from Wal-Mart. I use the Vampire Blood because it's thinner so to have a dripping look or to have smeared blood look. The black paint is helpful with sfx as for "charred" looks. It not good for actual face paint though. Way too patchy and sheer. This look is using the hair sprays. I used white first on my dark hair and just hit it with the colors over top. I didn't want it to entirely cover up my dark hair but I wanted the colors to stand out I used White, Blue, and Pink. This look is a broken doll. I used Ben Nye cream paint in White and Aqua Cake in white over top to make it more opaque. Snazaroo black paint for the broken part. Liner for cracks and detailing. The blue eye is just an app because I didn't want to get actual contacts. I'm afraid of unknown contact brands, contacts in general make my eyes burn and water. ITS TIME!!! Thursday is the first day of October!!! I was going to wait until October 1st to officially start doing halloween looks butttttttttt as you can see that didn't happen. I'm too excited and honestly it's a good outlet for me, I thoroughly enjoy creating and re-creating looks any time of year. So some of these are inspired by Pinterest and some are looks I just threw together. So top left: Mermaid Barbie. This is actually using a lot of duo-chrome and foiled shadows. I didn't do scales or anything cause I wanted her to be iridescent and majestic. I used colored hair spray. I sprayed the braid first with white spray and then went in with pink and blues. It was actually really easy just pile on the blues, greens and purples.....lots of highlight. Top Right: Leopard/Cheetah Cat This was a little more difficult. More detailing there are alot of different variations of this online to look at. Basically lots of contour colors, browns, and liner. White paint was laid down first on the face before anything else. Bottom Left: Cute Kitty This was actually on Pinterest. I loved it super simple and great if you want to be a cute little cat for a party. Red lips was a fun turn to it as well. Liner for detailing and whiskers. Fluffy lashes and a really heavy brown smoky eye. Bottom Right: Beetle Juice inspired. This was a look I found on pinterest although that one was far better. It's from an artist Alana Dawn on Instagram. It was an amazing feminine Beetle Juice look. Requires lots of white paint, purple shadows, neon green, a dark lip and liner for detailing. Top left: Drawing/Sketch This was something I seen on Pinterest. The had done Marilyn Monroe. I obviously don't look like Marilyn Monroe. This is lots of white paint and black shadow and gel liner. It's pretty easy. You just look at a picture and where the dark areas are like shadows, or whatever on the picture you just shade your face in that area as well. If that makes sense. Top Right: Nutcracker This was something really cool. I don't know why I wanted to do a Nutcracker look but I liked how it turned out. It's a lot of strategic and symmetric detailing. It has to be very neatly done so that makes it difficult somewhat, however if your comfy with that then it's easy and fast. Bottom Left: Ice Queen You always see a lot of Ice Queens or Frozen queens. Nicole Guerriro done one a while back that was beautiful. I wanted mine to be completely frozen. Everything about her just cold and statuesque. I added glitter to this one for extra and sparkle like ice statues. Pale blue shadow as contour or blush, which ever. Bottom Right: Skull You see a lot of skulls around this time. Skulls are hard in my opinion. It's a lot of detailing and time consuming. This was inspired by a male artist who does insane SFX makeup. I don't remember his name but it was amazing. For gory looks I use Ben Nye Thick Blood and tissue paper for texture. I also add in some black paint or shadow before hand if I want it to look charred or burnt. Pink if I want it to look fresh and I also use liquid blood from Walmart if I want it to be runny. These are actually really easy to do but messy. So if you want to just be something scary and gory get some Thick Blood or Fresh Scab and you can have a look in no time. I'll be coming up with some looks for you to do. Like deers, scare crow, so on so forth. I'm so excited. Get ready for Halloween overload.
I know it's not even Halloween yet, but holiday collections are already rolling in at Sephora. I'm someone who really likes to get my shopping done as fast as possible and I've been buying Christmas gifts since July so I appreciate that these are being released already. Sephora of course isn't the only company that is receiving Holiday sets, Neiman Marcus and Macy's both have some really nice exclusive sets from YSL and Anastasia Beverly Hills. Ulta is getting sets in as well. Sephora is where my heart lies so that's where we're starting.

Yea I know it's not technically fall, but in my world Sept 1st means it's fall. So when you think of fall you think of plums, warm browns, berry lips, golden tones, etc etc. While I love ALL those colors, I wanted to give you some ideas for fall that are still very much fall but not so typical.
Here's some fun Fourth of July makeup looks for you to try if you're feeling festive! This one I used a black gel liner first and then went over it wil MUG Poolside and then Pegasus. To make the blue really pop rub a white crayon liner or base onto an angled brush and go over the black that way the blue is brighter over the black liner. Yes it's easier if you just use blue liner. Or a white liner and then put blue shadow over it. I didn't have those in gel liners. Then I applied glitter glue and Beauty Bar Baby Rain Drops glitter to the wing. I took LA Splash Hypnotized lip tint (liquid lipstick) on a pointed eyeliner brush and just outlined the wing underneath and made a cat eye effect in the tear duct. It's also the color on my lips. Lena Lashes in Tina ***it doesn't say you can use the lipstick on the eye area but I didn't have any issues so use it at your own discretion. This one is just lashes and lips. Perfect for a cookout cause the main focus is skin and highlight. Lashes are Bella from Nubounsom I did a winged liner with it. Lips are LA Splash Hynotized Highlight was Becca Opal and NARS High Intensity Blush in Fervor This is a navy smokey eye. It's MUG Poolside and Pegasus with ABH Blue Velvet on the outer corner and Violet Voss Wendy glitter on the inner corner. Lips are Gerard Cosmetic Butter Cup and Spring Fling gloss Luxy Lash Woke Up Like This This dramatic look is for my girls who like to live a little. It's heavy on the eyes and lips. It's a reverse smokey eye with the red going all the way into the start of the brow. MUG Cupcake, Bitten, Razzleberry, Poolside ABH Dragon Fly lower lashline Beauty Bar Baby Diamonds and Pearls inner corner over white base. Lena Lashes Naomi lashes Colour Pop Clique on the lips Happy St Patrick's Day!! Hope everyone is enjoying being green today.
