I recently got to try the Jan Marini Clean Zyme Cleanser and Skin Zyme Mask duo. I was hesitant at first but I decided to go ahead and give it a go because it's technology/formulas that I've never used before or not used much and I love testing those.
Jan Marini Skin Research is one of the most respected brands in professional skin care. JMSR has formed associations with some of the world's leading physicians and research scientists to develop cutting edge solutions to today's most common skin concerns. JMSR has introduced a host of technological firsts, has been awarded numerous patents and has published multiple independent peer-reviewed studies on it's products.
So this duo is based on Proteolytic enzymes from what I can gather. Proteolytic enzymes break the Protein chain into smaller pieces which are Peptides and then into their components, amino acids. So think of it this way you have peptides which are short chains of Amino Acids which are the base of Protein. There for making protein the target for these enzymes. The skin is what has the most protein known as Keratin. So peptides have a "skin restoring" ability. They're very beneficial for slowing the signs of aging especially with lines and texture. They also are known to be very soothing to the skin as well.
Jan Marini is the first company I've seen use Proteolytic enzymes (which is: Papain from Green Unripened Papaya) actually because they do break down peptides into amino acids. However, I do understand why they are using it. According tho their site "Proteolytic enzymes are the most scientifically sensible and effective method to accomplish supplemental exfoliation at home for smoother more radiant skin. These enzymes selectively digest dead or diseased protein material without harming living healthy cells. This means they can remove the build-up of dead cells on the surface of the skin leading to rough texture and flaking." So it makes sense to use something that would go for the dead skin because all skin as discussed earlier has a lot of protein in it. What I really think is interesting is that it only goes for diseased or dead skin/protein material and doesn't harm the rest of the skin. That's crazy. I've used these product a few times and I really love them! I do notice an immediate difference in the texture of my skin after using them. I use this system about twice a week. I do wish the cleanser was a bit bigger though, if I'm being honest. I just feel like it would run out before the mask. How you use this is you apply the mask to clean skin and leave on for 20 minutes then you apply the cleanser on top and leave on for 1 to 2 minutes. I felt very little tingling and that was when the cleanser was added. Then you remove it thoroughly. This "resurfaces" the skin without irritation so it's quite different from acid exfoliation where those can be quite harsh sometimes. Also, we can throw in retinols in that too since they're known to cause sensitivity and irritation. See acid toning or exfoliation resurfaces but also promotes cellular turnover. Those and retinols are essential in reversing damage on your skin and more beneficial the older you get. This seems to just target dead or diseased skin only and takes it off you skin which not bothering anything else. I'm going to leave some claims from the company: "Clean Zyme cleanser and Skin Zyme mask are supplemental home care exfoliation products that have the ability to remove dead skin cells without harming sensitive or irritated tissues. Use anytime for an immediate polished look! Intended to be used as a pair. Both products are also great when used as part of a comprehensive skin care regimen." This is pretty much cut and dried for me, I think it's really cool so I will continue to use it because often times I can't use my retinols or acids if my skin is too sensitive, that's where this is very useful for me. So two thumbs up from me Jan Marini. You can find this duo at: https://www.janmarini.com/skin-care-products/exfoliate/clean-zyme-skin-zyme **This post was Powered by Brandback**
