I just recently got 5 of the new Matte shadows from Makeup Geek. Some reformulated previous colors, and some that are brand new. Let's have a look at them.

The shades I got were:
  • Curfew
  • Sorbet
  • Fuji
  • Boo Berry
  • Mirage

Let's start with Mirage.
Mirage is a color from the Vegas Lights palette, and I believe it's been re-formulated as well. This is not entirely matte, it's a bit satin finish. Not shimmer just a slight sheen. It's a bone color. I use it on the brow bone to highlight. It doesn't give a super pale or white highlight, it's very subtle. This formula is so soft and creamy. It's crazy pigmented and blendable. I'm very impressed with it.

Next is Sorbet.
Sorbet is described as a peachy-pink shade, but I feel it's just a really pale pink. This is completely matte and in all honesty it's a bit dry compared to Mirage and some others. It still has wonderful pigment and pay off. It's barely noticeable in the crease which is good for a transition color. Peach Smoothie is more noticeable actually. Added to Cupcake it's a beautiful combination in the crease. Very glowy and pretty.

Fuji
Fuji is a re-formulated color. This is a lime apple green. It's not completely matte either. It has some soft flecks of gold in it as well as a slight satin sheen. It's very pigmented but I find that it works the best with a white base, that's when it's its truest color. It goes on evenly and smooth.

Boo Berry
This is described as a denim color. I think it's a little brighter than that. It's not hardly navy but it is a darker blue and it's still very bright on the lid. It's completely matte. I didn't think I would love this color but I do. It's very soft and smooth. This is great if you like blues. It also looks lovely when you use it with a black shadow because it's bright enough on it's own to be a beautiful gradient look that actually shows a fade of blue to black. Other shades like navys, just look black.

Curfew
This color is a medium toned grape/violet. It's completely matte and it's not a cool toned royal purple it's a true grape. This is a very smooth and soft color. It's a perfect shade of muted purple for the crease, lid, lower lash line, definition, etc. It's a very needful color. It's not plum or berry toned. I love it. I think this is one of those colors you definitely need in your palette especially if you like purple tones.

I've used all these shades. They are all wonderful and I love them. I didn't get very many neutrals, as you know I love color. They have 20 shades in the new matte formula. They are regular price which is $6 a piece. As of right now they are caught up on orders so you should get them in a timely manner. I ordered mine on a Monday and got them on a Thursday. There are links on the side bar to Makeup Geek. If you're on the mobile site it will be at the bottom of the page.

Some other shades I am interested in:

Cherry Cola (brown based burgundy)
Americano (cool toned brown)
Morocco (orange)
Vintage (taupe brown)
Dragonfly (sea green/aqua/teal)
Concrete Jungle (deep taupe)
