My Favorite Lashes

Red Cherry 213's

As you probably already know I love lashes. My lashes are thin and short so to make my makeup really look pulled together for heavier looks I always use false lashes. I don't wear lashes when it's a super simple look though mind you but if I'm going out or going to a event or whatever I got the whole nine yards.

So first let me tell you what I look for in lashes:

  • Natural styles. Mostly the kind that goes from shorter to longer in the middle and back to short at the end. I just think it looks the most natural. I typically don't like them super long either.
  • Band length. I'm a stickler for finding  a band that you don't have to cut down.
  • Good curve. Lashes that have a good curve to them are easier to fit on my eye shape. I have almond eyes I would say so they're more rounded.
  • Not heavy. I can't stand lashes that are crazy heavy. I don't like to feel like I'm wearing lashes at all.
  • Curl. I like lashes that have more volume and curl instead of being more straight. I feel like when they're more straight then they aren't noticeable in the look anymore.

I don't usually care if lashes are Mink or Human hair so on so forth. I have favorites in both categories. With mink lashes they can be worn up to 25x usually. With inexpensive human hair lashes you're only supposed to wear them a few times before throwing them away.

Glue is also very important. I use DUO brush on glue with Vitamin E in it and such. It dries clear and you can have more control on how much glue you're using. For an event I would probably use the waterproof duo glue which is also clear. There is also a dark colored glue and in some cases I like to use it because it helps to cover the band up on the lashes.

Always apply mascara before putting on your lashes so they blend better. I don't typically mascara fake lashes especially not mink ones. I may do it to inexpensive ones that are so natural that you can barely see them.

My favorite lashes are:
Lena Lashes Bianca and Elle
Luxy Lash Hollyhood and Woke Up Like This
Red Cherry Lashes in 213 (obviously)
Ardell Wispies

Now I have more that I like from Evermore Lashes, Mesmereyes, Koko Lashes, Kiss, and so on. These however just are the ones that I choose when I want to feel really confident about my makeup.

Red Cherry is pretty much my everyday go to lash. The band is perfect length and they have a good curve so they fit my eye perfectly! I get mine in packs of 3 off Amazon. They're around $2-$3 a piece so a pack of 3 can be anywhere from $6+ to $9.

Lena Lashes make a makeup look in my opinion. Especially the Bianca ones because they're so dense and thick they steal the show. Plus they have a really really good curl to them. They actually can be a little heavy but I will gladly deal with it because they're so beautiful. If you have small eyes I might would choose something a little less dense. The Elle style is more subtle and natural looking. They're no where near as thick as the Biancas but they're beautiful  none the less. I love using them for go-to makeup looks. Like neutral smokey eyes and such. Also if you're interested in these you can use code "lash20" and get 20% off. In my opinion these are probably the best mink lashes I've used because they're handcrafted and so soft and fluffy. Literally the only thing that is negative is that I do have a hard time with the band getting in my eye and have to cut the band to make it shorter as well. Lena Lashes is doing a flash sale right now on Bianca lashes. Use code "Bianca50" for 50% off.

Luxy Lash I just got in and I love them. They fit better than the Lena Lashes because I did have to trim the lena lashes band a little because it was too long on my lid and kept making my eye itch. These are a really good fit. They're about $30 for a pair but they do have flash sales from time to time so follow them on social media to get updated about that. I love Hollyhood because they're more dramatic but they don't over power a look or take away from the rest of the makeup. They are just absolutely stunning. Woke Up Like This is more of an everyday lash I think. They're more full but not dense in my opinion. They have that really natural look while still being a major focal point of the look because they do stand out.

Ardell Wispies are a cult favorite. I never got into them until recently  but the band is perfect and the lashes are a little long but not crazy dramatic. They also come in Demi Wispies too if you aren't comfortable with the actual Wispies. They're inexpensive as well. You can buy them at Sally's or Walgreens and I think they're $5 or less. I'm not sure though.

So those are my favorites as of right now. I use tweezers to place the eyelashes on and then I use my fingers to attach the outer side and then I use tweezers to fix the inside and attach them to the lashes. Then I take the butt of the tweezer to press the lashes down onto the lashes to secure them with the glue.

Before I end this post I want to tell you that if you're wanting to try lashes start with Red Cherry that way if you hate it you're not out a ton of money. Start with a natural style as well like the 213's. If you already like lashes and want to try mink MesmerEYES has some good mink lashes for $15 on Violet Voss website I believe. That's incredibly cheap for mink lashes. I got some of that brand as well and I really do like them.
