A couple days ago I did my "travel makeup" which didn't include my moisturizers or anything that I used before makeup. So I thought I'd make a separate post about my skincare, which as you can see is not an absolute ton. I do try to travel light and reasonable.
What I take: Makeup wipes, I like the Lavender Night Time scented ones. I get the Equate from Walmart because they're lots cheaper. They are gentle on my skin. I tried the morning ones and they actually cause a rash so that scent wasn't jiving with me but this one does. Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream: this is super brightening so I use it to moisturize my eye area before I put on concealer and corrector for my dark circles Origins Ginzing Moisturizer: I tried the Vitazing and hated it. I still have almost a whole bottle of it and I try to use it now and then to try to like it and I just don't. I do love this one though. Its moisturizing but has a thin base so it's not super thick and absorbs quickly along with smelling like oranges. I tend to have dry skin so when I'm home I may use something a little heavier if it's a really dry day but I'd rather be cautious and use this when I travel cause it always works well with my skin no matter and I'd rather deal with a little dryness that a dewy makeup breakdown mess. Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Moisturizer: I love this stuff! It's my favorite night cream I've ever tried. It smells like oranges as well but it's super thick and creamy and makes my skin feel so refreshed and comfortable. It absorbs nicely into the skin as well. When I'm home I use Argan Oil alot but I hate the greasy feeling I have for like 15+ minutes where I don't want to lay down and it just feels so heavy on my skin, even though the results are undeniable. Plus I don't like Argan Oil to travel with cause it's expensive and it's in a glass container if it broke or the cap came off I'd have a mess and be out like $48. This however is great and I generally use it alot anyway unless my skin is just really really dry and I need an oil. Clinique Clarifying Lotion #2 for Dry to Combination skin: Ok this is a toner for those who haven't heard of it. I don't know why they call it a lotion when it's clearly a liquid toner. Its strong and thats why I use it when I travel. This is a true toner/astringent meaning that you can smell the alcohol in it and it tingles or burns when applies sometimes. I love this though because to me it gives me that "deep cleaned" feeling. I like using it when I travel just because you're touching things you aren't used to you're in a different climate or area and your skin is encountering a lot of different things so this makes me feel like I'm doing all I can do to remove bacteria. When I'm home I use Caudilie Grape Water cause it's a spray, for sensitive skin, and it's moisturizing so it doesn't "strip" your skin like most toners do. Sometimes though that's exactly what you need. There are other toners out there and Clinique isn't the most "popular" or "trendy" brand right now but this is a solid product that does't have to have a ton of hype because it's just really really good. Which I need to get more of. All of these were deluxe travel sizes except the makeup wipes. I've had them for well over 6 months and probably will get another 6 months use out of them. I always use my points or opt for deluxe samples promotion codes when I order from Sephora or where ever if it's something I think I can use. I save my points until I find something I really would like to try or need more of, but I'll wait to buy things until a great promotion comes out with something I may like. That's how I get to try so many cool things.
