Recently, I got the pleasure of trying the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Face Glow cream. I'm a huge fan of Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Mask as you probably know. I'm a big fan of Fresh in general, their Black Tea Line is amazing. Actually, everything is that I've tried so far. I actually really want to try the Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner that's relatively new....but I digress. So I've been using the Vitamin Nectar Moisture Face Glow for my morning and before makeup moisturizer. Which for a year or two my moisturizer has been Ceramidin Cream from Dr. Jart with absolutely nothing taking it's place completely. Even if I was testing a new one, nothing beat the Ceramidin Cream. I still love it. However, I do like this more.......yea I just said that. I'm gonna get into why in just a minute but first, I have a lot of trust when it comes to Fresh. They're products always do very well for me personally, they're never over powering and I feel like right now especially with moves of more and new ingredients being introduced rapidly, it gets very overwhelming on what's going to be good for your skin and what's not because every skin is different so it's a real task to find your correct routine. Fresh seems to always have my back as a "fail safe" of giving the expected results quickly, and without concern of what this will "do" to my skin in a negative way. If that makes sense. Because even products with the least amount of ingredients, or the newest technology, etc. can sometimes for some reason throw skin for a loop. Especially if you're me ( who is blessed with very "normal" and "non temperamental" skin very often) and you test skincare products one right after the other. Which I love. So with Fresh it's something I can always rotate into my routine if my skin is having a reaction or if it just need a break to be honest. Simply put they are the comfort food for my skin.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, the reason why I like the Face Glow more right now than the Ceramidin is because it's super light weight, but you still have the feeling of hydration. Then it absorbs very nicely into the skin with almost a smoothing effect and I find for myself that it works so well that it almost could take the place of my primer. I say "my" because I don't have particularly oily skin so unless it's just incredibly hot, I don't get overly shiny. My main concerns, that primer is useful for is: large pores, texture issues that need to be smoothed out, and some fine lines around the outside of my eyes now.....yes it's true. So for summer this has been an absolute dream, performance wise in general, and for sustaining the wear of my makeup. Where as the Ceramidin is still absolutely wonderful it's just a bit more hydrating and not smoothing and thus I require a few more products to make sure my makeup really stays put through the day and looks its best. I think you would love it if you had oily skin or any skin type for that matter. I wouldn't, myself, use it per se at night because it is so light weight and I like a little bit more thickness so I tend to veer toward the Black Tea Overnight Mask or Corset Cream. I also personally wouldn't use it at night because I use very high strength Vitamin C's at night and since this has plenty of vitamins in it I prefer not to double up at night. This is the most fragrant of their products but in the best way, I love the smell of their regular products but this is citrus and crisp but still being light and fresh, it wakes you up in the best way. Another reason why I like it in the morning. As far as "glow", I find an overall improved look to the skin and a smoothness to the skin. I made my friends (aka my test subjects lol) try it and one has extremely oily skin who does use it at night, and loved it. However, she loved the way it felt even more, again because I find it smooths the skin very much to the touch. Like I said I use very high strength Vitamin C products at night among other steps that help my skin glow so I can only speak from an overall point of view. My skin just looks much better once this is applied, radiant, certainly improves any fine lines and larger pores, really just giving a smooth and much younger skin appearance. Not that my skin looks terribly aged or anything but I spend my time reviewing, testing, researching skin so I notice a lot of things with my skin and the differences from 5 years ago to now. *Fun fact: I tend to document my skin through pictures to compare to here and there for a time reference.* This product has a complex of different vitamins in it. Which I love. As you know I prefer complex products specifically in oils but basically in anything that's going to be a "treatment" or nourishing for it. I find that method as the most useful, truly, in delivering a blast of vitamins, minerals, and hydration to the skin or "feeding" the skin if you will and keeping it happy and healthy. All in one hit and not it separate steps. So it's a powerhouse basically. It's obviously not the only factor in skin's health but still it's helpful. This is "Powered by a proprietary vitamin fruit complex of vitamins C, E, and B5; lemon and orange fruit extracts; and revitalizing minerals". Simply, in my mind, a "multivitamin" for the skin each day. I'm going to insert some descriptions from them about the product below: "Research results: In-vivo test after 1 month: - Immediately improves skin’s luminosity - 95% said skin was soft and smooth - 90% felt skin was moisturized, nourished, and supple - 88% of testers said it provided a healthy-looking glow - 85% noticed their skin felt invigorated and awakened" "Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream is a multivitamin for your skin that allows you to glow beyond vitamin C for a vibrant, healthy-looking complexion. Powered by a proprietary vitamin fruit complex of vitamins C, E, and B5; lemon and orange fruit extracts; and revitalizing minerals, the moisturizer instantly awakens the skin and promotes a glowing complexion. Glucosyl hesperidin, a naturally derived flavonoid found in citrus fruits, helps combat tired skin. With an energizing citrus scent, the lightweight formula absorbs quickly to soften, smooth, and minimize signs of tired skin. The result: skin that feels invigorated and recharged without a greasy after feel." Ingredients: -Vitamin Fruit Complex: A proprietary complex of vitamins C, E, and B5; lemon and orange fruit extracts; and revitalizing minerals helps promote a glowing complexion. -Glucosyl Hesperidin: A naturally derived flavonoid found in citrus fruits that helps combat tired skin. Water, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Jojoba Esters, Glyceryl Stearate, Caprylyl Methicone, Polyglycerin-3, Propanediol, Glucosyl Hesperidin, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Stearyl Alcohol, Ceteth-20, Sodium Polyacrylate, Stearic Acid, Steareth-21, Steareth-25, Caprylyl Glycol, Tromethamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Fragrance, Tetrasodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butylene Glycol, Caramel, BHT, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Benzyl Salicylate. So you obviously know how I feel about it. I don't think it should necessarily take the place of other nourishing steps unless you just want to test and see if it can. Like I said I prefer to use it in the morning because most of my "treatments" for the skin, including oils are at night and I'm very happy with that routine. My morning routine has far less steps though. I don't find this congesting my pores, and it hasn't caused any breakouts for me. It's been an absolute dream, I would suggest it to anyone that doesn't have an intolerance or sensitivity to any of the ingredients. Someone who has very dehydrated skin or very dry skin may not feel like it's enough for them, so for that I'd probably point you toward something like Ceramidin Cream from Dr. Jart, if you want the lightweight feeling but more moisture/hydration, or the Black Tea line if you just want a "richer" or thicker formula/feeling. Side note: it does work very well with the Vitamin Nectar mask if you were wondering. It's available now at Sephora, 1.6 oz for $42
