I was trying to think of a good post for today. I thought that I would tell you my favorite cleansers as of late. It's getting colder. The air is getting drier. I've been doing a ton of Halloween makeup so my skin has had a beating almost but not as bad because the cleansers that I've been using the most lately have been so effective but also so gentle. They've not dried my skin out. It's made this transition into colder weather so much easier. Starting with the newest addition which is Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. A lot of people, including me, see "polish" and automatically worry that it's go to be a physical exfoliator. It's not at all! It's like a really heavy cream cleanser. I genuinely love it. It feels really nice and if using it with the hot cloth it comes with you're skin does feel as if it has been polished. The texture is the part that I love the most easily.
Next is Pixi and Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse. I have used this so much this past month that I've went through another container because this was the most effective at breaking everything down on my skin including Halloween paints. The solid cleansing oil is probably the most effective "pre-cleanse" that I've ever used. I need far less of the solid cleansing oil than I would another balm or oil to break everything down in the first go. I put it up against every balm I had and it was either right on par or better as far as getting a really good "pre-cleanse" before going in and actually cleansing the skin. The other side which is the cream cleanser is just as lovely. It feels really light weight. There is no residue left behind. It's very gentle but still effective. You're skin doesn't feel tight or uncomfortable using this and also it's just really convenient and THERE'S NO REASON WHY YOU CAN'T "DOUBLE CLEANSE" WHEN YOU HAVE THIS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU PEOPLE! I will even link you to Caroline's blog post about "why we double cleanse". Moving on is one that I've been using consistently for most of this year and that's OSEA Malibu Ocean Cleansing Milk. It's very very gentle. It's perfect if you're skin is angry or irritated. I love it the most as a morning cleanser because it doesn't take away any hydration from the skin. It's just very lovely and I've spoke about it several times so I won't go on and on again about it. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel. The Hydro Boost line is my favorite drugstore skincare products. They focus a lot on Hyaluronic Acid so I find when my skin is super dehydrated that these products do a really good job at helping my skin get back to what it was. I also just really appreciate that it's a hydrating cleanser because I find that some "hydrating cleansers" tend to leave the residue that I don't like and this one doesn't do that at all. Plus it's easily accessible. You can use coupons on it and it's drugstore. Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser. I know that there is a long name behind it but it's the only cleanser they have so I don't think you're going to get confused as to which one I'm speaking of. This is the perfect "gel cleanser" in my opinion. Not to mention I really love the packaging being a glass pump. It's very very effective for that freshly cleansed feeling but it doesn't strip the skin much like the theme for all my favorite cleansers. If you love to feel that "freshly cleansed" feeling then I would point you in this direction. It does lather up somewhat but not from SLS. Its a good formula and I think they done it perfectly. Lastly is one that I speak of all the time. It's Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm. This is my favorite balm ever. They released a lovely Rose version too with Lily and Lionel for Breast Cancer Awareness and it smells so good but if you don't enjoy the rose scent go for the original. I love this balm! It feels more like a cocoon on the skin. I use it in the mornings and let it sit as a mask sometimes when my skin is really dry and uncomfortable or just tired. It does a great job at breaking makeup and more down but I love it as a gentle morning treatment/cleanser rather than just using it to take my makeup off. This is my favorite balm formula ever. Easily my Holy Grail because this is the texture that I prefer which is really smooth and thick. So that's it. Those are the cleansers that I gravitate toward the most here lately. Some new, some old, some re-purchases (which all of these are basically in that category). Some have been sent, all of them I either have or will purchase myself again. They've saved my skin in this weird Tennessee weather from going to really hot to literally cold the next day. Not nippy, not "cool", I'm talking COLD. They've also saved my skin or kept it balanced more so during all my Halloween looks and testing new products per usual.
