Welcome to the second installment of the Sephora Friends and Family Buying Guide. This one will be all about skincare. I feel like skincare should get the majority of your attention but I do know that for a lot of people makeup seems more fun. However, being the skincare nerd that I am, I find them both exciting. Lets get into it. First off I'm gonna say sets. Like always. Holiday sets are coming out and just in general Sephora does have good sets. I picked a few that I thought were really impressive and good value. So starting with Drunk Elephant. If you're a die hard fan I'd say splurge and get the Trunk 2.0 but they also have a lot of sets for whatever it is that you like out of their range. So there's tons of variety when it comes to Elephant at whatever price point you feel comfortable with. After that would be Fresh. They are one of my favorite brands and I really like the new sets they've released in Fresh Sky High Dration and Ready Set Firm. One is the Rose line which is the deeply hydrating. The other is the Black Tea firming line which is equally soothing and nourishing. Next is the Tatcha Set Obento Box. This is for those of you who enjoy Tatcha quite a bit or want to try it. It has their Water Cream, their Luminous Dewy Skin Mist that everyone loves, the purple Violet C Radiance mask, and the Silk Canvas primer. I love the mask and the water cream. I like that you get a good size of the mist in this because I know many who love it as well as the Silk Canvas primer. If you just wanted to try a couple of products they have a duo as well with just the Water Cream and the cleansing oil along with a few other sets too like their best seller set. Sunday Riley Good Genes Holiday Kit. This is one of the biggest sets I've seen from Sunday Riley. It has pretty much all their hits with the exclusion of their oils aside from a mini of Luna . I'm pretty positive the Good Genes is full size. It has a nice size of their cleanser and their CEO serum which is also really nice. Algenist Secrets of Algae. Again, I don't see many sets from this company either. I really love their Genius Liquid Collagen, and their Genius cream, it also comes with one of their best selling products I think which is their eye cream. First Aid Beauty NEVER disappoints. The Skin Summit is actually super affordable for everything you get. It's $48. It has the Facial Radiance Pads that are a great start to acid exfoliation, Ultra Repair Cream which I keep on my night stand, their instant oatmeal mask, the face cleanser which is awesome, and a newer addition Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum. Holy crap. This is a good one. I would be fine with paying the full price because it has a lot of hits. Next would be treatments. I put my money where the treatments are usually. I tend to be cheaper when it comes to cleanser in moisturizer. Drunk Elephant: I could recommend so much. The top picks are B-Hydra, C-Firma, and Protini. B-Hydra is the HA Serum, C- Firma Vitamin C Serum treatment, and Protini is a great peptide treatment that can be mixed with serums, oils, etc. Sunday Riley UFO set. It's a great acne system and treatment. I love the UFO oil and the Martian toner. Also, I greatly enjoy their Good Genes Lactic Acid treatment that I spoke of earlier. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Serum. This is so lovely. It is definitely hydrating. If you have more dehydrated skin then I think you would love this. Tarte Knockout Treatment. I really like this. It's not to the P50 1970 formula standard but it's a really nice 10% Acid Complex of AHA and BHA though and I do happen to like it as a more affordable option. Next will be oils. I also think these are considered treatments but more like "feeding the face" that I talk about all the time. Sunday Riley is known for their oils and I like all of them. For breakouts try UFO, for a gentle Retinol try Luna, for some "superfood" Juno is like saying you're sorry to your face, same for Flora. They have them in half sizes as well. Drunk Elephant Marula Oil. I've not met a person who doesn't do well with this. They have different sizes in this as well. I think it's the safest bet out of all the oils. It and maybe Juno. Each person seems to do really well with the Marula oil that I talk to. Herbivore has some really nice facial oils and you can also get them in smaller sizes and in sets. I like Pheonix oil the best. If you love blue tansy then Lapis would be something I'd recommend. Eye Products: Drunk Elephant C-Tango is like a multi-vitamin for the under eyes, Shaba Eye Complex is more of a hydration treatment. You can mix these, but they're great on their own. Fresh Black Tea Eye Concentrate: Super soothing, cooling, and nourishing. Its a bit thicker and I like that but more so at night. First Aid Beauty Kona Stick. This is a stick/balm that always feels cold on the skin. It's helpful for de-puffing the under eye area and so on. Soothing the skin.
Lastly I'm gonna talk about some soothing products for the face. First of all check the REN Evercalm line it's the best. I'm really loving the new Overnight Recovery Balm. Origins Mega Mushroom products. I love the toner. They have several products in that line though and they feel great.
