Sephora Spring Sale Event

Ok guys, so by the title you will be aware that this is going to be a buying guide for the Sephora Spring Sale event. However, I am HIGHLY aware that right now we're in the middle of a pandemic. I know there are many not working right now and I understand we have more important things to think about besides a sale. I'm doing this because I always do a buying guide, and I very much need a sense of normal right now. I need a distraction. I'm worried and stressed out too, believe me. I currently have ulcers from stress and my own sickness. So I very much need to dive into the beauty world right now and blog so I can maintain some sanity. If you can't shop this sale, that's fine. There will be other sales.  Maybe I will list something you already have and forgot about (kinda like the shop your stash series) and you'll dig it back out or give it a try again. Maybe it will give you some ideas for Mother's Day because you can ship orders or gifts to someone's house while still in quarantine. Maybe it will just remind you there is a sale right now if you need to restock something and right now you can get a discount. At the very least, maybe it will just give you something to read to take your mind off the current situation as well. The sale started for VIB Rouge 20% off on the 17th and goes to May 1st, VIB is 15% and is 21st-29th, and 10% for Insiders 23rd-27th. The code is "SPRINGSAVE" and is an unlimited use. With all that out of the way let's go.
So first is always restock your staple products. Especially base products and skincare that works best for your skin. You don't have to spend a lot of money on cleansers or moisturizers ever, and I just wanted to remind people of that. Unless you just want to. I put the majority of my money on the "treatment" steps in my routine. Although there are great inexpensive alternatives for nearly every thing in skincare, product wise right now. Which I will get into shortly.

There is an absolute plethora of great products, especially luxury products, in the sale section. I'm talking Natasha Denona (my beloved Safari and Tropic palettes are in there), Viseart, Tom Ford,  Marc Jacobs, etc. Skincare wise there's Ole Henriksen, Algenist, Sol De Janeiro body oil, REN Skincare, Clinique, etc. Of course things keep selling out, but I keep checking everyday and sometimes they're restocked. The regular priced items sell out too but nearly all the ones I wanted have restocked. So check back constantly.

If you need some skincare (which yes I do view as a necessity because my husband is in an ER with masks and every thing on for 12+ hrs. It is irritating  and breaking his skin so much that he has to keep applying balms and such to soothe the skin and heal it through out the day and at night.) but if you really can't spend very much then I'm going to point you toward The Inkey List and The Ordinary. Sometimes The Ordinary is excluded from the sales because it is so affordable. I'm not sure if that's the case right now but they are also sold at ULTA as well and you can use your points toward them. I don't know if The Inkey List is excluded though. None the less I'm still going to recommend these.

Here's some of my fave products from each line.

The Ordinary:
  • Squalane Cleanser ( super gentle cleanser that would do well with most skin types, IMO.)
  • Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (simple but effective moisturizer)
  • Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution ( AHA acid toner)
  • Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (a more gentle AHA serum in my opinion)
  • Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% (a gentle and underrated AHA)
  • Buffet Serum (a multi-peptide serum, there's also a version with Copper Peptides but it's more expensive.)
  • They have several oils as well. Most of these products are under $10.

Inkey List:
  • Vitamin C (a POTENT Vitamin C that is an antioxidant and brightens the skin)
  • Lactic Acid Serum (2nd most popular AHA. Resurfaces the top layer of skin. Give this a go if you don't like Glycolic Acid.)
  • Holiday Heroes Set ( a 4 pc set of their retinol, hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, and caffeine eye cream)
  • Q10 Antioxidant Serum (a hydrating underrated antioxidant)
  • Vitamin B, C and E Moisturizer (all in one moisturizer with vitamin B3, C and E. Literally $5.)
  • They honestly have a bunch of products. I've liked everything I've tried but I've not tried everything yet.

My next recommendation is out of the ordinary but if you wanted to and could do it, you could buy a gift for someone you love. We're in quarantine (obviously) and not able to see our loved ones for the most part and for some that is the loneliest feeling in the world. I mentioned Mother's Day in the intro but also if you know someone who is an "essential worker" and you want to do something for their hard work, you could send them a gift. If you know someone who's really needing a "pick me up", you could send them something. There are so many items in the travel section and little mini duos or trios that are reasonable. Sephora does really good value sets which I'm going to discuss next. Even some nice body products or a product  you know they love. It's just a thought you definitely can just use this sale to "treat yourself" because your mental state and health is most important always.

As for Sephora Favorites, I've been waiting for their to be some bigger ones or more variety but I've only seen a few that I myself would consider, for myself that is. Mainly because I do try a lot of product so I usually have some of the products in the sets.

There is:
  • Mini Summer Makeup Essentials Set. Which is "a six piece must-have summer essentials set with a highlighter, wave spray, glow oil, lip gloss, body cream, and mascara.." it's all the cult favorites like Sol De Janeiro, Tarte, Patrick Ta, Jouer, Ouai, etc.
  • Haute Hydrators Kit: It has 8 hydrators that come in all forms (and sizes) from supplements, serums, water creams, creamy moisturizer, and so on.  All really great products in it.
  • Must Have Minis Set: this has everything from hair products, skincare, and a little cream blush cheek stick. It also comes in a super cute bag which most of the sets normally do.  It's supposed to be "festival" ready but there's likely not going to be many festivals this year, from what I'm told. It's still a nice set though with a wide variety.

There's plenty of "favorite" sets that are always the best selling products and popular brands. Also there are many different price points.

That's all I'm going to talk about. I wanted to keep it kinda short and just hit the main parts. The things that are the best bang for your buck mostly.

I hope your staying safe and as healthy as can be. If no one has told you today I love you and God loves you (which is what a Sunday school teacher always used to say to us and I catch myself saying that out of habit all the time, may she rest in peace.). Thank you for reading!
