It's time for a "Why Isn't Anyone Talking About This?" post. This time it's hard to say what this product is other than a base. It's the Color Me Underglow Hydrator and I love it. I've worn it as foundation, I've used it under foundation, and over foundations. I've used it as a base for highlight on the cheekbones. So for me it's very versatile. I actually like the shade 020 for my skin but they sent me 010 Fair and 020 Medium. They have 4 shades. I have a Color Me device and I love it, I will link the video to that here where I demo'd how to use it. That was actually a year or so ago. I really do love it but what I love about this product is you don't necessarily have to have that device to use these Underglow Hydrators. I've applied them with that, a sponge, a kabuki brush and I love them.
I totally misunderstood this product until I actually tried it. When I got the email for it I was like oh cool so it's gonna be like an illuminating primer. (ya know, "underglow"?) Then when I started working with it, I seen it wasn't at all like a primer so I thought "ok it's a cream base for where you want your highlight". Then I actually used it the correct way and Heaven's to Betsy... yes I did just say that....it was AWESOME. What's even better is you can build it up, so you kinda customize your glow. Can we hashtag that? Someone? Anyone? #customizeyourglow I'm saying we can....moving on... I also LOVE mixing this with foundations that are "too" matte to bring in the healthy look OR if I want to add more coverage to the Underglow Hydrators. So again, versatile. I do still use a moisturizer before this even though this is hydrating. I'm really in to Priming Moisturizers right now so for me it works out really well. It's just something I'm used to and I think that it's best to keep the routine going instead of getting out of that habit. Plus I've had no issues with "too much" moisture or the skin looking too dewy. I've had so many compliments on my skin when I wear this it's insane. All of my friends love makeup and I have quite a few that are as die hard as I am and for them to really be impressed that says a lot. I would say that it gives a healthy look to the skin. I'm not sure I would call it dewy I think I would just say it's your skin finish but better. So like Gigi Hadid with a facial spray on top. I think that's a good analogy. I've layered it up to see if it can get dewy and so far it's not necessarily looked overly dewy just luminous really. I do find it a bit tacky feeling when you first have it on but that goes away very quickly. I don't powder it when it's tacky so that it doesn't grab at the powder and cause weird spots on the face. So I apply it, then I do my normal under eye correction and concealer. I then powder that area and then with a pressed powder and a fluffy brush I will powder the whole face. Not much, just some so that the bronzers and blush sit well on top of it and blend nicely. I've not had any issues with it at all. I'll leave a link where you can buy it below. I'm not sponsored, they did send this to me but they didn't know I was going to dedicate a post to it, but it deserved it because I am super impressed. Well they know now, I guess lol. Anyway, yes they sent it, no I didn't have to talk about it. I'll leave some pictures of when I've been wearing it. Plus, follow me on Instagram @lovemascara for my Insta-Stories where I get real up close and personal with my skin and makeup wear. Also same thing on snap which is @loveand_mascara. See ya there.
