Greetings everyone! I am running on very little sleep. So bear with. I hope that you've had the chance or you're going to partake in the Sephora Appreciation Sale. VIB and Insiders get to shop on the 30th. VIB Rouge started on the 26th and it all ends on Sept 3rd. So anyway, I hadn't bought anything from Sephora in a while. I've been doing the majority of my shopping on ULTA but I hadn't even bought from ULTA in quite a few months. I decided to treat myself and buy things that I had been eyeing for a while and just never purchased. I also kept it in the makeup realm just because I don't need any skincare at the moment. Moving ahead with this haul lets start with the new launch that just came out. I got the Benefit Brow Contour Pro 4 in 1 Brow pencil in Brown/Black-Light. This is like the multi colored click pens we had year ago where you just slide the color tab down to change what color you want?? Some of you kids won't even remember those. Anywho, I seen this and I thought that it was such a cool idea that if it actually turns out to be good I think it will be a game changer. It's basically 4 brow products in one. Two shades are to fill in the brows and sculpt them, 1 highlight, and a definer shade which in my head is just a way to give the brows a more sculpted look that you would get i you use concealer to really clean up the brows. I haven't heard a lot about this product but I think it's such a cool idea and I'm so glad to see something different.
I also picked up Milk Makeup Kush mascara in the mini size because I can't use a full mascara up before it expires, so I always buy the travel size. This has great reviews and I needed new mascara. The tube, even on the travel one is so heavy, and I normally don't care about packaging for mascara but this is noticeably heavy and I appreciate that. I also got their Kush Fiber Brow Gel in Grind which is the darkest shade. I'm looking for an everyday brow product that I don't have to really spend a lot of time on and brush it through my brows without being messy but also having enough pigment or fibers to help fill in the sparse areas. So it was between Kush and Boy Brow from Glossier. Kush won out due to the sale and free shipping. I got the Tatcha Pearl under eye treatment or neutralizer as I like to call it, in moonlight. I always use a corrector to cancel out my dark circles. Some days I use more than others. Sometimes I use the smallest amount in the corner. I'm never without a corrector or neutralizer when I do my makeup and this is actually 13 ml which is nearly the size of most eye creams in skincare which are around 15 ml. The packaging is beautiful as well, let's not even kid. I hope it's great because that is quite a lot of product to help correct the darkness under your eyes and with the discount it was probably how much I would normally spend on neutralizers but getting so much more bang for your buck. I got the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Diffused Bronze Light. I was going to get the newer shade in Nude Light but I felt like it would take quite a bit of building up on my skin and I have a few paler shades of bronzer and to be honest I never use them. So I went with what I felt would be the most beneficial and what I would reach or the most. It's more neutral toned in color which is what I typically like. Again you get a lot of product, you get 11 grams. The only other bronzer I have that is remotely close in size is the Bare Minerals Invisible Bronze which is 7 grams. So yes, expensive but at least we're getting a lot of product. Lastly I used some of my points to try out a new perfume because I'm the pickiest person ever when it comes to perfume and the ones that catch my eye or intrigue me are the ones that fly under the radar and aren't the super popular brands. So I got Bergamot from Commodity because I love how simplistic but luxury their bottles look plus they're gender neutral scents and if I had to explain my style of scent at all it would probably be something that smells sophisticated and almost could be a men's cologne.....that's what I tend to go for. At the same time though it has to smell nice on me and it can't be too strong or it will give me a headache so it's a tough task. I always get samples when I want a new one to see if I really like it as the day goes on. In the sample category they had another one from Commodity called Velvet which is a warm musky scent so I decided to get that as well because even thought that's not my typical choice, I do love Bourbon from Elizabeth and James and I feel like it's very warm in scent. I did smell them and I mixed them as well. I definitely prefer Bergamot but I don't mind them mixed either. They aren't over powering either so that's very exciting, maybe I will get to add a different scent to my perfumes! Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the sale and I can't wait to see what everyone is going for. It feels like everyone is looking for something different right now and I always love seeing their selections.
