So we all know that I love false lashes. Because my lashes are dismal. So I'm always down for a good sale. Luxy Lash which is a company that I had been looking at for months recently had a 30% off sale. Therefore, I ordered a couple pairs. I wanted Eazy Duz It and Woke Up Like This but Eazy Duz It was sold out. So I got Woke Up Like This and Hollyhood. I didn't see alot of people wearing Hollyhood but I really liked it so I thought it'd be nice to try. They shipped THE NEXT DAY people! They got to my house in 2 business days. I love Lena Lashes but it took a month for me to get them and I'm fine with that cause I understand it was huge volumes of orders but I really really appreciate getting things not just timely but FAST! These are about standard price for mink lashes which is $30. With 30% off it was $21. I don't mind paying that because you can wear them up to 25 times. I also really like the packaging it's like a glamorous quilted look. I love having cases to store my lashes in I think it's so helpful. Woke Up Like This Hollyhood (yes that's not a misspell) Today I'm wearing Hollyhood lashes, I must say that I really really like them. I think this might be my new favorite lashes because they're light, they fit good, and the don't look over dramatic they're just perfect. I've not tried Woke Up Like This yet, they're a little more full so I'm sure I'll love them as well.

I don't do alot of fashion posts but I wanted to do this one. Recently I was shopping on Jane.com. It's an online company that does flash sales for boutiques that last 1 or 2 days. I actually really like it. I bought from Groopdealz for a long time and then it got changed to Eleventh Ave. and the prices started going up. Not a huge increase but it's just not the same. So as I was on Jane's app I see these studs that were exactly like the Kate Spade Small Square Studs. The Kate Spade ones I absolutely love but they're $38. Which isn't all that bad cause they're made really good plus Kate Spade is so good to do 25% off from time to time and flash sales as well. Ever have those day's when you really love your makeup? That's been happening to me a lot recently with my foundation and actual face makeup. I always usually like my eye makeup. Today though I loved everything from the pop of green to the contour. The first two pictures were taken right as soon as I finished my makeup. The last two were taken probably two to three hours later and in a different lighting and room. My eyes look a lot lighter when I stand in the window with the light straight on me which I always think looks so cool although that's not how they look all the time which is a bummer. Here's a little update. I have to have a small surgery on Wednesday thanks to these pesky health issues I've been having lately. However my incredibly sweet husband took me on a date to our living room and got us a movie and popcorn and Cherry Coke. I know it doesn't seem like something special but it is to me. And we dress for the part people. No sweat pants or pajamas. We treat it like a real movie date. So let me speed past the outfast details: Top: Dainty Hooligan wrap top Necklace: Bauble Bar layered necklace Earrings: from my Husband :) but they were from Henri Bendel Ok real fast I want to say my brows weren't jiving with me today. They got really thick and boxy and the more I tried to fix it the worse it got. That's the joys of have dark hair. You almost always look like you have sharpie brows. Moving on.....
Eyes: ABH: Bengal, Deep Plum, and Smoke (darker colors are on the outer and inner corners to do the whole "halo" effect) Loreal Pressed Pigment in Amber Rush ( this is under the next color. It's a foiled look which I really liked but I added the next color over it for the pink glitter it had in it which made the darker colors look very cool. So this isn't necessary if you don't have it or don't like it. Leave the center of you lid blank with no product directly on it that way you're center pop of color will really stand out) Colour Pop: Too Soon (center of the lid and lower lash line) Kiss Lashes: Chic Stila: Precision Brow Pencil in Medium Brown (so far I'm not a fan of this.) Face: Lioele BB Cream as foundation ABH Powder Contour Kit Becca Songbird blush Stila Shimmer Duo in Kitten Lips: Stila Liquid Lipstick in Bellisima ( I was right about this it lasted about 6 hours before having to be touched up. The only bummer was that as it faded it really clung to my dry patches in my lips and turned a different color. That can be fixed with more lip balm so it's not a big deal. I do absolutely love this color and formula though.) Today I came home to find that my lovely mail man had left a Bauble Bar package for me. So I open it up to find a layered necklace annnndddd a new lipstick from Maybelline's new Rebel Bloom collection. The color I got was Lilac Flush. It's a beautiful Lavender shade. I will say that Brills lip liner from Colour Pop is a good lip liner to use with it. If you like lip liner that is. Some people don't and that's totally fine. I didn't know this was even coming so what a nice surprise!! I think the necklace is still a buried bauble right now as well. Eyes: MUG: Pixie Dust, Mermaid, Shark Bait, Envy, and Chickadee Sugarpill: Lumi pigment Lena Lashes style Bianca Stila Precision Brow Pencil in Medium Brown ABH Dip Brow pomade over top Face: NARs All Day Luminous foundation RCMA VK 11 palette to contour. Becca Songbird blush Stila shimmer duo in Kitten ABH power contour kit Lips: Maybelline lipstick in Lilac Flush Happy mail day! Today in my mailbox was some Stila goodies I had ordered last week. I have only had a few things that were Stila and I don't know why because I usually like the products I try from them. So I got three things from them and these are my first impressions. First let me say that one reason I love Stila is that they're good to put their products on sale or clearance them out. They are considered a high end brand but they also put their products on sale quite a bit too. Also, they offer a really nice pro discount for makeup artist and often have flash sales for their "pros" and give them an extra 20% off there already 40% off discount. What I got: All Over Shimmer Duo in Kitten Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Bellissima Stay All Day Precision Glide Brow Pencil in Medium Brown This duo that I got is in their most famous shade "Kitten". Kitten is the light pink shade on the left. The other shade is more bronze. Kitten comes as a shade in nearly every product they have from eyeshadow to highlighter and even eyeliners. I honestly had never tried it even though its famous among makeup artists. I will say that the size of the compact is a little smaller that I thought but it's about the size of a MAC blush. The product itself is fantastic. It's smooth and pigmented. What I love about it is the bronze shade is so wearable. I looked at it and thought that it wouldn't work unless I was very tan the more I blend it into the skin thought it becomes very rose gold. Kitten of course is a light pink highlight that I don't have in any highlighter so each color by their self is completely different and then mixed together its more rose gold. However, blended out completely it looks like a shimmer luminizer has been added to the skin with just a slightly golden sheen. This is $22 for .18oz on Stila or Sephora.com Next up is the Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. Liquid lipsticks are so popular and trendy right now so I love trying different ones. I got the shade Bellisima which is their nude shade I think. It's matte finish and smells exactly like the Sephora Collection lip stains that got reformulated. Same texture as well. Which I absolutely love. They have a vanilla smell and the texture is like a light mousse more so than a liquid although its entirely wet. This shade I thought would be really comparable to Pure Hollywood from ABH but it's actually a more peach shade. The description says it's a "pale neutral pink" but I think it's more peach. I absolutely love it though. It's an extremely wearable pastel color and because it looks more peach on me I think, it 's absolutely a must have. It's $22 for .10oz. It's about the same size packaging and all of my ABH liquid lipsticks and LA Splash lip tints and lip coutures. They have 6 shades so not the biggest shade range. They also dry completely matte. I don't know how long they wear but I would imagine 6-8 hours because although they're matte and a "liquid lipstick" they don't feel drying what so ever they feel very comfortable. This is not available at Sephora. Last is this brow pencil. This is a double ended brow pencil much like the Anastasia Brow Wiz. Which was why I wanted to try it. I got the shade Medium Brown, but it looks more taupe to me so I think blonde's could use this and be fine. I think I will have to use it a little heavy to provide the definition and filling in that my brows need. It doesn't seem to budge though and that I like. While I was swatching it, it seemed like I had to press a little harder to get it to transfer but it could be that once it's been used a few times it will warm up and be easier to use. This is $21 and comes in 4 shades. It's the same price as the Brow Wiz fro ABH but a little bit less product and not as many shade options to choose from. It's not available at Sephora.
I love when spring rolls around just because of all the bright and fun colors that come with it. So I thought I'd compile a list of my favorite/go-to shades that I think are easy to help transition into the new season with. I feel like in the summer we see more sheer and intense colors. Spring is great for bright and matte shades. I only went with two brands and it wasn't on purpose it was just honestly what I gravitate toward.
First up in Colour Pop. Next week I'm going to do a Colour Pop collection because I have a few more on the way and I have quite a few of their pencils anyway. I only have their pencils and not "lippie stix". I'll tell you why. I prefer matte lipsticks and lip liners are always matte. I use lip pencils as full lip color all the time. Lip liners are designed to sculpt and act as a base thus making your lipstick last longer and helping the lipstick not "bleed". So the reason I love colour pop lip pencils is because they're the matte version of whatever color you like. Every lipstick of theirs has a matching lip liner. Also, after you sharpen them they get creamier and are so similar to a matte lipstick. MAC lip liners are super pointed and much thinner. Colour pop is a little thicker and more rounded. I chose the colors: Rocket, Punky, Wifey and Brills because it was the four most basic shades of spring. Coral, Warm Bright Pink, Cool Bright Pink, and Lavender. Now remember I choose the lip pencils because they're the matte version of the lipstick. Brills lipstick is actually metallic finish I think but the lip liner is not. Rocket is a medium peachy pink. Sometimes saying "coral" implies that its a dark orange ton and this isn't. It's noticeable and bright but still wearable. As your skin gets more tan in the summer it just makes this color pop more. Punky is a pretty bright pink. It's not like the Maybelline Vivid's line where it was electric, in your face, colors. It's wearable and still has that spring look to it. Wifey is the brightest and most vivid of all of them. It's very cool toned pink and very bright. It can easily be toned down with a gloss ironically enough, seeing as how gloss intensifies things sometimes. Brills is the perfect lavender that comes with spring. It's not super pale to where you don't notice it and it's not a color that people will reach for the most but I love it to change things up. Next is three liquid lipsticks from Anastasia Beverly Hills: Sweet Talker (top), Retro Coral (bottom left) and Lovely (bottom right). Sweet Talker is another brighter pink. It's a warm pink but it's also a more muted pink than Punky from Colour Pop. Which to me is more wearable. It's definitely bright don't get me wrong, but it's muted in the fact that is a little darker and not so in your face. It's easier to wear this one with more eye looks I think. It's one that the more tan you get the more muted it's going to get. Unlike the next one which is Retro Coral. This although retro, meaning that its a paler more sherbet colored coral instead of a neon electric 80's coral. This definitely gets brighter and stands out the deeper your tan gets which is what I really like about it. I feel like you can mix this with different colors too to add a peachy tint to it because it doesn't over power other colors. Like I mix it with the next color Lovely and Lovely is still the main color. Lovely is the most neutral shade I picked. This color can be worn year around, yes, but it's great for the very beginning of spring because this is more rosy pink than a bright pink or mauve. Mauve is a fantastic color for fall and winter because of the brown and purple tones that's usually in it. Lovely is all pink. It's an everyday color and I love using it as a substitute for like that classic Kim Kardashian fleshy nude. It can be paired with every eye look out there. I personally would choose Lovely over the coveted Pure Hollywood which is more of a nude. I choose Lovely just because it's having an actual color on the lips and color always defines and sculpts the lips while nude colors make them look bigger and can complete the look without making the lips the center of attention. If you don't want to spend the money on ABH lipsticks then I strongly recommend that you check out LA Splash. Their products seem to be a little brighter and very intense for Spring which is why I didn't include them. They do have a few colors that aren't so insanely bright like Charmed and Latte Confession but most of their products are really intense. Also I prefer the Smitten Liptints over their Lip Coutures but that's just me. The liptints go on more evenly than the coutures I think and the couture colors seem to crumble if you apply too many layers. I do absolutely love the shades though and especially for Summer because they are much more wearable then in my opinion. Although if you want to wear them anytime you know I support that because I certainly do. lol Colour Pop lipsticks and pencils are $5 ABH liquid lipsticks are $20 and if you have a pro discount with them you can use it on these. I call this party makeup because it looks like a party on my eyelid. I rarely ever go to parties though. lol.

I know that some people won't like this because of the luminous qualities of it, and hey that's totally fine. I love it though because I use it under the concealer for a "back lighting" technique which makes it much more subtle. You have to understand though that I have dark circles that literally get on my last nerve so I'm all for something that will help it and this does help mine. I correct with my NYX dark circle corrector first, then brighten with this, and then conceal will MAC Pro Longwear, NARS Radient Concealer,Maybelline Fit Me or whatever concealer that I'm using at the time. So go check that post out for more details.
Have a great week! |
