**The picture above is from the Kiss website**
Here we are on another episode of "Why Isn't Anyone Talking About This?". Where I like to bring you things that I think are awesome but I'm not hearing much buzz about. So I'm not gonna waste time we're just gonna get straight into this.
You know I love false lashes. I absolutely love them from inexpensive to expensive, if they look bomb but feel even better then I'm a fan. For a while I was a mink lash fan and still am to some degree. However, faux mink became so huge in the last two years and looked just as good as the expensive mink lashes on the market. I was first turned onto the "synthetic mink" styles by Violet Voss I think they do the best and ever since then I give all "faux mink" lines a second look. I'm also a big fan of Kiss Lashes in general. If you were to text me and say "I'm at Walgreens and I want to try lashes, what lashes do I get?", I would tell you Kiss Lashes every time from the regular line or the new line either one.
They have recently (I guess) released Kiss Lash Couture Faux Mink Collection. I have Gala and Boudoir. I will be getting some other styles. Hands down Boudoir is my every day favorite. Gala is perfect for when you want just a bit more drama but it's not incredibly intense. These lashes fit amazingly well they're band is actually kinda short so they fit my eyes great. If you like the House of Lashes "Mini" line, then I think you'd like these. I can't speak to the other styles except these two for right now. I absolutely love them. I got mine off Amazon because I didn't want to go and search for them and they costed $8 for one pair. If you go on the Kiss website they are actually $6. So I will be ordering from there next unless I do see them in my local drugstore. I did note that you can order multiple packs on Amazon, I think I seen 2 for $13. So it's all in what you're comfortable with. Violet Voss lashes are about $10 a pair I believe, House of Lashes is around $9 I think, so for the quality and the price I can't believe more people aren't talking about these. They are an ABSOLUTE find! If you love lashes, or especially if you have a hard time with band length on your lashes, go check these out. This isn't sponsored in any way. I've never talked to Kiss Products before, pretty sure they don't know who I am, so from one makeup to another you won't be sorry!
In the picture above I'm wearing Boudoir lashes.
These are the Gala lashes. I actually wore them on Valentine's Day to celebrate with my husband. I thought I had a close up picture but apparently not. I will get one and update this post though as soon as I do. From this shot though you can see that they do give a little bit of a more dramatic and sexier look to the makeup.
Not long ago I talked about Studio Gear with you and their Dual Identity Mineral Foundation, Revitalizing Day Serum, and brush which I really enjoyed. They recently sent out their TLS Mascara, Invincible Gel Liner in Earth and the Multi Tasker angled brush.
So here's the high notes:
TLS Mascara: Thickens, Lengthens, and Separates lashes. I'm gonna insert some of the companies claims of the mascara.
• Naturally derived collagen, hydrolyzed wheat protein and antioxidants nourish, condition, and protect the lashes.
• Deep, rich pigments create high impact lashes
• Long wearing without clumping, flaking or smearing.
Invincible Gel Liner in Earth which is a deep brown shade. It's a cream gel liner in a pot, obviously. Here's the company quote on the gel liner.
• High performance, water/smudge proof formula
• Capable of creating intense, sheer or smoky effect
• Use as shadow or liner
The #31 Invincible Multi-Tasker Brush. This is an angled synthetic brush made from Taklon Nylon. Here's the company quote on the brush.
"This brush has an exclusive and unique ergonomic shape developed to fit perfectly into the corners of your eye. This brush moves naturally with the shape of your lid enabling you to effortlessly sweep the liner along your lashes creating a precise line. The flat, curved shape is perfect for applying liquid, cake, cream, gel and powder (wet or dry) products."
Studio Gear was designed for makeup artists or MUA's, if you will. They wanted to create products that could be personal to the person wearing it. Like your own personal coat of arms or a jersey. Their main goal is your confidence and how you express yourself. Formulating products that it's easy to express yourself with. Their products are high quality, intensely pigmented and professional grade so whether you're a editorial artist, working on a set, freelancer, or someone who just really enjoys makeup, it'll be very easy for you to find your own creativity and let that come out when using their products. Plus the added longevity of their products make it easier to wear your customized look all day without the fear of it going anywhere.
As of right now, I can't talk about the gel liner. I'm waiting on a replacement that they're supposed to be sending out. I will update this post when I get that.
The #31 brush is an angled brush. I find it thicker than most angled brushes which makes it great for smudging liner, the lower lash line, and even sculpting brows. Like it says in their statement it was developed to fit the corners of the eye and move with the natural shape of your lid. I really love their brushes. They all are very nice and perform very well from what I've seen so far. So I would recommend them just by their self in general.
The mascara, is a bit thin in formula. If you don't like that you can leave the wand unscrewed over night and it should thicken the formula of any mascara. I find this mascara definitely separates. There is no clumping at all and it doesn't seem to budge once it's on your lashes. It coats them evenly. My lashes are very fine, thin and kinda short. They have a lot of volume on their own, which is why I never curl them. I think this is a good "building" mascara. It's thinner consistency makes it easier to layer until you get the desired effect you want. So I'm satisfied with that. I tend to where false lashes a lot, but the days that I've wore this, it worked just fine.
They did give you a discount code which is 10% "SGEYES"
I'm gonna leave the link for these below:

Recently Violet Voss released some new faux mink 3d lashes. I got the 3 pack bundle for $27.99. It comes with Just Slayin, Sexy and Eye Know It, and Eye Donut Care. These are $10 a piece so buying the bundle saves you some money. I loved the first line of lashes like Vamptress, Eye Dgaf, Wisp it Real Good and so on, so I was very excited about these. I will say I like the original ones more so because some of these can be difficult to wear. Particularly Eye Donut Care. It really made my eyes itch. The other two I really loved though.
These are Sexy and Eye Know It. I paired it with a really dark smokey eye. They held their own obviously. Other lashes that are more natural would kind of get lost in a look like this and these made the look I think. They're absolutely beautiful. I'm in love. In the second picture I'm just obsessed with them. It's not an overly dramatic eye but the lashes are just perfect for it.
These are Just Slayin. They're very natural and dainty. As you can see these can easily get lost in a look and become very unnoticeable which can be great or kinda suck, depending on what you want. I would wear these with a lighter eye look like the 2nd picture. The first eye look is a bit smoky, so I would use these with just a winged liner look possibly or by their self. These are super wearable though in general, not the type of lashes that will make someone do a double take.
These are Eye Donut Care lashes. These are not my favorite but none the less here they are. These are just a bit more dramatic than Just Slayin'. I prefer Just Slayin'.
My favorites are Sexy And Eye Know It as well as Just Slayin. My all time favorite is still Vamptress from the first line. Definitely check these out I love 3D style lashes and you can't beat this price point.
So this week I got some Colour Pop products. I got some of the new Raye Boyce collaboration, one of the new Holiday lip colors, a new-ish gel liner, and 3 newer shadow shades.
These are the three shadows I got. Glitterati I was most skeptical about but it's become my favorite. I think it's very similar to Kat Von D Thunderstruck actually just with glitter. It's a silver shade with plenty of sprakle. It's metallic finish and those are some of my favorite finishes in the entire line, those and the pressed pigments. Leopard is this INTENSE royal purple. It's matte and full blown purple. It's gorgeous. Drift is your typical cranberry color that's perfect for the holidays. It's a pearlized finish so it's got a sheen to it more than a shimmer. I actually thought it would be a much deeper red/burgundy but it's not it's a medium toned burgundy. I love cranberry shades they are so overlooked and they shouldn't be because they're gorgeous on everyone.
This is Rayezor, the collaboration with Raye Boyce. It's SO my style. It's just a perfect greyish mauve which I love. If you like Brink, I think you would like this. It reminds me of Underground from Gerard Cosmetics only better. It's just so pretty and very "everyday" in my opinion. I only have the lippie pencil as you know I prefer them to lipsticks. She also created a very beautiful liquid lipstick called Stingraye that I wish I would've gotten. It's a dead on dupe for Jefree Star Androgyny and ABH Veronica. Such popular colors but this one is $6.
This is one of the new holiday colors. It's called Scrooge. Which I though was so cute. It's a very pretty medium berry. It's almost pink but a little too dark to be pink so it qualifies as berry but it's not deep at all. So if you don't like plums or anything dark but you want something that's not incredibly bright, you may really like this shade. Also just $6.
This is the gel liner in Swerve. I just got black because I needed a black gel liner and also I hadn't heard the best reviews on this so I felt black was a safer route. I absolutely love this gel liner. It's very creamy in the pot and goes on very smooth and easy. It dries matte and doesn't budge. I'm not sure if that's why people didn't like them because they dry kinda fast and you couldn't really work with them after that, but I find that if you mess up gel liner anyway you're kinda screwed whether it dries fast or not. I mean if you mess it up and try fixing it it's gonna smudge so at least this really doesn't smudge. I haven't had any issues with it though. It goes on smooth and gives me plenty of time to draw my wing plus it's very easy to take off. A makeup wipe takes mine off. My Makeup Geek liner requires lots of rubbing and eye makeup remover. This was also $6.
So in this looks I'm wearing:
Rayezor on the lips
Swerve gel liner
Leopard and Glitterati (center of the lid) on the eye.
Glitterati is so beautiful, it looks silver but it has a golden duo chrome to it and it's so pretty.
**Pictures are from Ulta and Sephora websites.
**Real quick before I get into this review: WE HIT 75,000 VIEWS FRIENDS!! Combined with my blog spot under weebly and then the new stats from my domain (because you lose all your previous stats apparently when you switch to a domain) we have now hit 75k total. I was at 66+ when I bought my domain and am heading into 10k right now on the new one. I'm very excited, as you know this is just a blessing from above and I'm appreciative for it and the opportunity to do something I love.
So Violet Voss just released 3D Faux Mink lashes. I'm obsessed. The new trend is 3D everything when it comes to lashes. I don't necessarily think it's a new thing, I think it's just a more accurate name for layered styles of lashes. These are amazing. I love this company so much to begin with and when I seen they were working on lashes I knew I wanted to try them. I was so pleasantly surprised with the styles they chose and the fact that they are super affordable. There are 8 styles that range from $7-$9. They are all styles that I would wear. I think they done a fantastic job. They are better than some mink lashes that I own. I won't name names but when I wore these a few times they beat out some of my expensive mink lashes. Mink lash's whole selling point is that they're lighter, fluffier and more natural looking for the most part. These do the exact same thing. The only up side to real mink lashes is probably that you could wear them more times than synthetic lashes but judging by the band and how sturdy these are I think they may go the extra mile for ya. I'm willing to put it to the test anyway.
I got the styles "Eye DGAF" and "Vamptress". I can't choose honestly which one I like better. I think I lean a little more toward Vamptress but I don't know cause I love them both. Vamptress was $9 and Eye DGAF was $8. At the time I believe it was free shipping over an order of $10 but I'm not sure if that is still going. Some other styles I'm really interested in are "Eye Do" and "Striptease" but I love every style they put out from the looks of it. They're really comfortable. I wore Vamptress all day yesterday, to my friend's dinner and everything. They started to lift at the end of the night but that's expected a little more glue could've touched that right up. The thing is that even though mink lashes look so good in pictures they often are hard to wear all day and need to be trimmed. The only ones I truly get away with wearing a long time without them irritating my inner eye is Lena Lashes. The rest I really have to work with throughout the day. Not all but some. Could be because I choose super fluffy styles but I really really appreciated that these didn't need to be trimmed they just worked. I've not had lashes fit like that since my beloved Red Cherry 213's. I got so many compliments yesterday on my makeup, even inside Sephora from the employees (which makes me feel good) and I really believe these made the difference.
The pics above are Vamptress. So beautiful as you can see. I generally don't like lashes that are longer and flared in the outer corner but these I LOVE!
These two pictures are Eye DGAF. They are basically my signature style of lash. Short on the corners and longest in the middle with all the criss cross action at the base. I love these as well they are just a little more dramatic than Vamptress I think.
So there ya go. I love them I can't say enough good things about them. I may be wearing faux mink for a while cause these are doing me all kinds of right. If you like lashes.......just go, go check them out, and thank me later.
As you know, I love a good pair of lashes. My obsession started with Red Cherry 213's which I still love and grew to all different kinds. I have quite a collection now. I'm always down to try new companies and especially if they offer 3D which is just a layered lash. Which a lot of companies have been offering for years but no one thought to call it 3D. Anywho, I recently purchased some Lilly Lashes. The style is Mykonos. Its a popular style, thanks to Jaclyn Hill. I of course love this certain style as they remind me so much of the Nubounsom Bella lashes that I LOVE.
These are gorgeous, simply put. My only complaint is that the right side seems to differ from the left. The lashes are supposed to be shorter on the inner part of the eye, and on the right eye that just isn't the case. They're still totally wearable and it could totally just be me, because looking at the picture they seem right. I swear though I have a hard time figuring out which is which when I put them on. None the less, they are gorgeous. I like the Nubounsom Bella just a little better because they're so full but these are a little more wearable than the Bella ones. You can see the eye look and they aren't the main focus which is really nice. They aren't crazy long either which is also nice. I find them very comfortable, with a band that is similar to Lena Lashes band as far as thickness. They are $30 I believe, and I'm sorry I couldn't find a coupon code for them.
I'm wearing them in both looks above, with no liner. As you can see they do well with colorful looks and neutral looks.
As you know I wear fake lashes in 90% of my looks. I have really thin lashes and kinda short so I look like I don't have any especially in dramatic looks so I always wear false lashes for makeup looks especially. In this I'm wearing Nubounsom 3D Mink lashes. I have an entire post about them if you're curious.
After I've finished my eye makeup I apply mascara. Just a thin coat to blend in with the lashes. I use brush on glue because you don't waste as much, it's thinner, it dries faster and just all around easier. Sometimes the lashes don't always stay on as long with it as it does the water proof squeeze tube but it does just fine for me and it's easy to touch up if one side comes unglued. I use tweezers to hold and apply the lashes so that I don't bend the actual lash hairs and flatten them.
I got some new mink lashes. These are by a company called Nubounsom they are 3D Mink Lashes in the style "Bella". 3D means that it's the layered look of the lashes. Not just one solid layer but several piled on top of each other. They are "handcrafted from custom designs by the finest manufacturers" as stated by the website. They are $34.99 but there are promo codes out there for at least 20% off. I know Manny MUA has one. I got these very fast, I'm always pleased with that. I also really appreciate that the company offers you different price ranges, there is 3D Silk which is also handmade from 3D silk fiber which are $14.99, there is regular mink lashes that are $19.99-$24.99, and then 3D Mink Lashes. They sell out kinda fast though, so they are pretty popular already so if you're interested in a certain style I would go ahead and get them.
This is the packaging. It's clean and simple. The style name is on the side of the box.
The are deep set in the box and I appreciate that as well. They're easy to remove from the plastic too so you don't damage the lashes.
I'm wearing them in all these looks you can wear these up to 35 times, which is incredible. They are light and soooooo fluffy. I really do love them. The company is a very inspiring company anyway, they're awesome to follow on Instagram, very uplifting and always featuring their lashes on different people. (@nubounsom on IG) They're also on other outlets as well. I can say that these will be some of my favorites to wear.
Here on my blog, you see a lot of lashes. From expensive to cheap. Synthetic and mink. (hey that rhymed!) I love lashes because my lashes are thin. They're kinda short too but my biggest issue is that they're thin. Not that I don't embrace that and most days if I'm just running errands or doing this or that I'm not wearing false lashes. Maybe if me and my husband are going on a date or if I have an event coming up that's for my blog or makeup work I always try to look as good as I can and lashes are a part of that equation. I'm not saying they're for everyone or that you even NEED to wear them. Two of my friends have beautiful lashes that are so long and wonderful that false lashes would honestly take away from their real ones in an everyday situation. To each their own though. If you wanna wear lashes girl then hit it wide open. If you prefer not to that's completely fine as well. There are no rules in makeup, and if there are I break them on a regular basis I'm sure.
On to the differences.
Synthetic Lashes :
These looks are with some of my favorite drugstore lashes. My favorite lashes ever are Red Cherry Lashes 213's. I can wear them everyday. People don't always notice them and when they do they're so natural looking that they think it's my real lashes. Ardell Wispies are another cult classic and a favorite of mine. Good lashes for a bride as well if you don't want minks. I use synthetic lashes on clients usually. Because the price is like $3-$5 tops. Where mink lashes are so much more. If I'm gonna wear lashes all day it's normally my 213's the band is shorter so my eyes never itch and I honestly can't feel them. They are super natural though. They're so natural that my best friend can't wear them cause her real lashes are the exact same length as they are. Which she was has gorgeous lashes so there ya have it.
Also it's worth mentioning that I don't buy dramatic styles in synthetic lashes because they are too intense in my opinion.
So here is a a few pairs of mink lashes with different looks. As you can see they differ in style some are thicker and heavier, some are more natural, some are cat eye looking. I've had these lashes for a while. My favorite brand is Lena Lashes. So those are the ones I'm showing for this. There are tons of other brands out there that are good though ie: Velour Lashes, Luxy Lash, Nubounsom, Flutter Lashes so on so forth. I'm showing Lena Lashes because they genuinely are my favorite but they run sales all the time on their lashes. Like for the entire month of June they are 50% off with code "save50". That's a great deal. Most mink lashes will run you anywhere from $25-$40 sometimes more. I love mink lashes. Especially for the final touch on a look. If it's a dramatic look mink lashes are so complimentary to it. Having said that, I can't always wear mink lashes all day long. They tend to be a little heavy or can really itch the corner of my eye. They also can come unglued through out the day. I blame that again on if they're heavy. They aren't all heavy. Some are light as a feather but the thicker more "stacked" ones are the ones that can weigh you down a little. Now there are some styles that I can wear all day no problem just not all of them. They look amazing though. Even the most dramatic styles somehow can look so in place, and fit the look so well. That is the part that makes them necessary. Especially for a wedding day or if you're a makeup artist just getting started. Get a pair and wear them a few times to get used to them . The thing you want to be careful about is when you're taking off excess glue from the band. Pulling to hard can rip the lashes out because they're handmade mostly. Glue doesn't come off a cotton band like it does a synthetic band either so keep that in mind too. It's a little more work.
So here's my final thoughts: I wear synthetic lashes on the daily if I want to. I know they'll stay on I can't feel them to the point that I almost forget to take them off when I wash off my makeup. However for dramatic looks and especially for artistry, or for really special occasions where you want to really get that attention like "wow look at her eyes" I would choose minks any day. They are the best at doing that.
I'm a makeup and skincare lover. I have always enjoyed creating looks but I love to help people with product knowledge and application even more. I've been able to do these things because God has seen fit to bless me with the opportunity.
