My "Travel" Skincare Products

A couple days ago I did my "travel makeup" which didn't include my moisturizers or anything that I used before makeup. So I thought I'd make a separate post about my skincare, which as you can see is not an absolute ton. I do try to travel light and reasonable.

What I take:

Makeup wipes, I like the Lavender Night Time scented ones. I get the Equate from Walmart because they're lots cheaper. They are gentle on my skin. I tried the morning ones and they actually cause a rash so that scent wasn't jiving with me but this one does.

Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream: this is super brightening so I use it to moisturize my eye area before I put on concealer and corrector for my dark circles

Origins Ginzing Moisturizer: I tried the Vitazing and hated it. I still have almost a whole bottle of it and I try to use it now and then to try to like it and I just don't. I do love this one though. Its moisturizing but has a thin base so it's not super thick and absorbs quickly along with smelling like oranges. I tend to have dry skin so when I'm home I may use something a little heavier if it's a really dry day but I'd rather be cautious and use this when I travel cause it always works well with my skin no matter and I'd rather deal with a little dryness that a dewy makeup breakdown mess.

Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Moisturizer: I love this stuff! It's my favorite night cream I've ever tried. It smells like oranges as well but it's super thick and creamy and makes my skin feel so refreshed and comfortable. It absorbs nicely into the skin as well. When I'm home I use Argan Oil alot but I hate the greasy feeling I have for like 15+ minutes where I don't want to lay down and it just feels so heavy on my skin, even though the results are undeniable. Plus I don't like Argan Oil to travel with cause it's expensive and it's in a glass container if it broke or the cap came off I'd have a mess and be out like $48. This however is great and I generally use it alot anyway unless my skin is just really really dry and I need an oil.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion #2 for Dry to Combination skin: Ok this is a toner for those who haven't heard of it. I don't know why they call it a lotion when it's clearly a liquid toner. Its strong and thats why I use it when I travel. This is a true toner/astringent meaning that you can smell the alcohol in it and it tingles or burns when applies sometimes. I love this though because to me it gives me that "deep cleaned" feeling. I like using it when I travel just because you're touching things you aren't used to you're in a different climate or area and your skin is encountering a lot of different things so this makes me feel like I'm doing all I can do to remove bacteria. When I'm home I use Caudilie Grape Water cause it's a spray, for sensitive skin, and it's moisturizing so it doesn't "strip" your skin like most toners do. Sometimes though that's exactly what you need. There are other toners out there and Clinique isn't the most "popular" or "trendy" brand right now but this is a solid product that does't have to have a ton of hype because it's just really really good. Which I need to get more of.

All of these were deluxe travel sizes except the makeup wipes. I've had them for well over 6 months and probably will get another 6 months use out of them. I always use my points or opt for deluxe samples promotion codes when I order from Sephora or where ever if it's something I think I can use. I save my points until I find something I really would like to try or need more of, but I'll wait to buy things until a great promotion comes out with something I may like. That's how I get to try so many cool things.

Yes I know my hair is so flat. On the bright side it's super soft so that's something. In other news I always get super flattered and happy if I get reposted on Instagram or Pinterest by anyone but this past week the flood gates have opened and I got reposted by Violet Voss 😱 LA Splash 😱 and Glitter Injections 😱. Which basically I just find really cool and I do a little dance when it happens. I'm not trying to be boastful or anything just trying to say how absolutely grateful I am because all I want to do is talk and do makeup with the world. I can't help but believe these are blessings from the Heavenly Father and give him the praise as well because things are going really really well. Just wanted to say that cause I always want you to know where I'm coming from. Anyways on to makeup. It's a really sunny day here so these shots are quite a bit warmer than I expected even though this is a warm look! I stand near windows to take pictures so I have to rely on the natural light.

Purple "Reverse Smokey Eye"

Lately I've been seeing some "Reverse" smokey eye looks, and they looked so interesting that I wanted to try it. I reverse smokey eye is when the highest part of the smokey color goes the inner brow instead of the outer eye toward the tail of the brow. Mine didn't hardly go as dramatic as I wanted it too as far as placement is concerned but I still really loved the outcome. It's one of my favorite looks. Also I got to use the pigment Lumi from Sugarpill which is a cult classic I think and I absolutely love it just from all the different ways you can use it. It has kind of a teal reflects type cast to it but only a pigment instead of glitter. I love it. I absolutely love it and it's a really soft finely milled pigment as well.

Eyes:

Coastal Scents: Vibrant Plum (this is the most blown out color of the whole look its what you're seeing the most of)

ABH: Violet and Electro (Electro on the inner lid and corner) Fresh Peach (to blend)

Sugar Pill: Lumi over Electro

MesmerEYES mink lashes in Kisses from Violet Voss

ABH dip brow in Medium Brown
Face:

NARS foundation in Gobi

MUG: Spellbound blush

ABH: Contour Kit

MAC: Lightscape Mineralized Skinfinish for highlight

Lips:

Violet Voss Haul

Violet Voss recently had a flash sale. It was 30% everything I believe. So I'd been interested in their glitters but as I was looking around they also had some lashes that looked nice so I got them as well.

Picture

Koko Lashes in Foxy. These are dramatic but so pretty. They're inexpensive too. So far I've only seen them on Violet Voss but I think they may be on Amazon. These are not mink but they are really nice.

Picture

These lashes were $15 regular priced and they're mink. The style is Kisses. They had several though and so far I really like them. Kinda hard to fit them to the eye but they're very light and don't itch my eye.

Picture

Wendy glitter. White with lots of irridescent reflections of blue and pink.

Rosalind glitter. It's like a copper rose gold glitter. This is limited edition color. It's beautiful though.

Picture
Picture

Teresa glitter. I feel like such a mermaid when I look at this. It's the perfect Aqua blue glitter.

Picture

Parker glitter. This is a Lavendar glitter. So pale and purple it makes me think of unicorns. I can't wait to use it.

My "Travel" Makeup

So when I travel, and it's not a makeup event, I travel pretty light with makeup. I obviously take enough to do brows and full face, but I don't do the lashes and sculpted brows and all that jazz.  My makeup case isn't a small one that fits in your purse but it's not the size of a train case either. It's like a true travel cosmetic bag for vacations and stuff. As you already know I'm a huge fan of getting deluxe sizes of things for free or in value sets from Sephora or wherever. I do this mainly for travel purposes. Some of the things I'm showing here are travel size.

What I take:

Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox Beauty Balm (travel size)
Nivea Milk and Honey lip balm
Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Corrector
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light
Hourglass Ambient Blush in Luminous Flush
MAC Careblend Pressed Powder in Dark
Lorac Behind the Scenes eye primer (travel size)
Tarte eyeshadow quad "For Rich Browns"
Makeup Geek "Immortal" gel liner
Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara Waterproof
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Lovely
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (Travel size)

Seems like alot I know. That doesn't even cover the skincare that I take but it's not near as much.

Most of the things I take color wise are just the most flattering on my skin ie: The tarte palette, blush, and lipstick. I also choose things that can multitask for me though. The Dr Jart can act as a primer and moisturizer somewhat so thus I don't bring primer especially since I take setting spray and oil free foundation. The Ambient Powder that I take can set my under eye area as well as powder my face and be a subtle highlight. The blush I choose not just for color but also because it's infused with the Ambient Powder in Luminous Light which is a more noticeable highlight so when you use the blush it can add a glow to the cheeks as well so there's no need to take a highlighter with me.

I choose the products that I know won't fail and will hold up very well no matter. So the foundation being oil free is full coverage and a good medium color if I'm paler or more tan it's matte so if I was to get dewy it wouldn't collapse and break apart. The concealer is a natural satin type finish which I really liked. It also holds up very well and is my preferred concealer for under the eye. The gel liner won't budge so I don't have to worry about it melting. The setting spray will keep everything in place. The lipstick being a "Liquid Lipstick" won't move as much either and is also a perfect neutral. For contouring I don't take my contour palette I just take a dark face powder. I choose the MAC one because it blends easily and the color will work as a bronzer or a contour. I also really like the Tarte Smooth Operator face powders too in Medium and Tan for that as well.

I didn't talk about every product cause there's not a need. So to sum this up I take the products that hold up the best, are most flattering, and do the most for my needs.

Product of the Week

This week my stand out product is MAC Warm Soul blush. I've used it almost everyday. I never have bought any mineralized blushes from MAC they've never interested me because I felt like they were too frosty looking. This I bought purely because Samantha from Batalash loved it. So without swatching it or anything I bought it. I'm not disappointed. I absolutely love it. It has a golden sheen to it and has like a warm tan base. It makes you look so healthy. I really recommend it. It may not catch your eye but if you want to look healthy and glowy while your pale like Elsa from Frozen give it a shot.

Have a good week!
