I've had the pleasure of using an awesome lip duo from Preventative Measures 101 for the last couple of months. Honestly, I almost forgot to talk about them because they had become such a staple in my skin care routine both in the morning at night. Just another routine step. For the record for those of you disregarding taking care of your lips.....how bout you stop doing that. It's a new year so, fresh start, why don't you start paying as much attention to your lips as I hope you do to protecting your skin.
Skin Cancer is the most common cancer. As statistics stand right now, 1 in 5 Americans will get skin cancer at some point. The lips are not uncommon to skin cancer, but you don't often here awareness about them. Turns out most people who develop lip cancer is usually occupation related, and then tobacco and alcohol related. Also males are "3-13 times more likely to develop lip cancers" because of those reasons.
So while you should be protecting your skin make sure you're protecting your lips. So this duo of lip balm from Preventative Measures is really cool. Firstly, a portion of the proceeds go to skin cancer research. Then here is the clencher....
"After 20 years of experience as a chemist in the skincare industry, Anjani Singh was inspired to create her own line of unisex skincare products. Concerned with the growing population of skin cancer she set out to create a unique, preventive SPF 30 by incorporating the technologies of a time-release moisturizer.
Lips 101 has reinvented the ordinary lip balm with innovative technology and a SPF 30 protection. Made with shea butter, safflower oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, chamomile and a medley of "super fruits" (pomegranate, red grape, grapefruit, apple) for anti-oxidant properties. Lips are protected and hydrated throughout the day and receive ultimate moisture throughout the night!"
So let's start with the time-release moisturizer. It's so cool. I just don't have better words than that, so lets just be real. The idea is you smack your lips together to get the release of more anti-oxidants and more hydration to the lips. Which in turn will help heal them and get consistent doses of hydration to keep them more plump and not cracked or chapped. I'm fascinated by this cause you can feel it. It's really really innovative and I haven't seen anything like this out.
The ingredients in the SPF 30 are:
Active Ingredients (Purpose: Sunscreen):
Benzophenone-3 (Oxybenzone) 5%
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate) 7.5%
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Flavor, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch (and) Isomerized Safflower Acid (and) Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit (and) Palmitoyl Tripeptide 5 (and) Hydrated Silica (and) Resveratrol (and) Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Extract (and) Zea Mays (Corn) Starch (and) Punica Granatum Oil (and) Menthyl Sulfonyl Menthane (and) Glyceryl Stearate (and) Glycerin (and) Ceramide (and) Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Mineral Oil, Ozokerite, Petrolatum, Sucralose (and) Polysorbate 80 (and) Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (and) Zea Mays (Corn) Starch (and) Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Titanium Dioxide, Tocopherol.
Here's their statement on the 101 SPF 30:
"Our goal was to create a lip balm product to prevent and limit the amount of damage from UVA /UVB rays to the lips. We incorporated the cutting edge technology with SPF 30 for maximum protection for the lips. A point of difference: not JUST a lip balm! SPF 30 with an encapsulated time release formula. When you smack your lips together you release the super fruits to moisten and keep your lips hydrated!"
The After Hours formula is something I refuse to go without. I love it. It's not super waxy or thick and greasy like a balm that comes in a pot (these are sticks). Your lips feel nice but not like there is product just sitting on top of them. It's like you feel the moisture sinking in. It's almost like water being poured on your lips cause it works that fast and feels that refreshing. The scent is lovely and light. Doesn't have a weird taste in my opinion. It's just all around good.
The ingredients for After Hours are:
Petrolatum, Paraffin, Mineral Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Retinyl Palmitate, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil (and) BHA (and) Propyl Gallate (and) Citric Acid, Hydrolysed Corn Starch (and) Isomerized Safflower Acid (and) Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit (and) Palmitoyl Tripeptide 5 (and) Hydrated Silica (and) Resveratrol (and) Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Extract (and) Zea Mays (Corn) Starch (and) Punica Granatum Oil (and) Menthyl Sulfonyl Menthane (and) Glyceryl Stearate (and) Glycerin (and) Ceramide (and) Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Sucralose (and) Polysorbate 80 (and) Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (and) Zea Mays (Corn) Starch (and) Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Flavor.
Here's a statement from the company about the 101 After Hours:
"We created Lips 101 After Hours with the same extraordinary
technology and innovative ingredients without the SPF 30. We increased the moisture ingredients to maximize its benefits
to the lips. In Lips 101 after hours, we have formulated the product to intensify
the benefits to relieve cracked, wrinkled and dry lips. Increasing the anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory delivery system
The products house some of my favorite ingredients which are: Cocoa butter, shea butter, jojoba oil, Chamomile, Aloe, etc. These are awesome not just for hydration but for soothing effects as well. So in my experience this has been like "neosporin" for my lips kinda. I know that's an odd comparison but the way Neosporin heals a cut or wound faster, this is what this does for my lips. I tend to bite my lips sometimes out of nervousness or they'll crack from time to time and bleed this heals them really fast for me and protects them all at the same time. So while this is kinda short and sweet, I gotta say I really like this product. I would totally recommend them to anyone and I have because I feel like it's doing more than any other lip balm out on the market right now. This duo was $28 but it's now $21. You can of course buy them seperately but I say get them both.

**These were sent to me complimentary but these are my own opinions**
I am determined to find something from the new KVD launches that I like. We all know I didn't like the MetalMatte palette but I really think that it was just my palette. I've seen where plenty of people did like theirs.
So I decided to get the liquid lip set above. I knew that I already liked the formula, and these are mini's which I prefer to full size actually. I think they have more control. You get 8 liquid mini's and 2 new shades. What actually sold me was that these were shades I hadn't really seen much before. Like you always see Lolita, Lolita 2, Vampira, Exorcism, etc from the liquid lip line. Those are the ones most talked about and usually included in "best of" sets or as point perks and deluxe samples. This one had completely different shades and it also included Echo which is a Navy shade that is kinda popular, but not seen that much. I had also wanted Echo but couldn't justify buying the big dog. So I seen this set and jumped on it.
This set also comes with 2 new shades: Plath and Roxy. Plath I love, Roxy is good in theory but a bit patchy which you will see in the swatches.
So the 8 shades you get are:
Plath: deep russet red ( a red/brown with brown being the strong undertone it.)
Santa Sangre: Poison Apple (a bright neutral classic red)
Mother: Dusty Mauve Pink (a brighter mauve not dusty in my opinion)
Lovesick: Mauve Nude ( a cool toned pink nude)
Backstage Bambi: Vivid Hot Pink (accurate description)
L.U.V: Rich Violet (vibrant, bright, violet fuchsia)
Roxy: New shade. Bright Grape (accurate)
Echo: Satin Navy Blue (accurate again)
So those are the shades in Sephora's description and then mine. Below I'm gonna give you swatches of all 8 on the lips. Same great formula in all of these. Didn't expect nothing less. The only one that was troublesome was Roxy and that sucks cause it's new, but I truly think it's because it's a true purple and purple is the hardest shade in powder form, cream, or liquid, to pull off and make perfect in every way. I still think it could be built up more and made a bit more even. I had around two coats on in the swatch. Echo has two coats as well. The rest are just one go. Plath, the other new shade, is gorgeous. It's essential for fall. I freaking love it. I love the other shades as well but I'm a sucker for brown undertones.
My fave shades out of this are:
The others are great too, but these are my picks.
As you well know, I'm a fan of indie brands. Especially hidden gems on Etsy. So recently my friend Lexie (@militaryandmakeup) started up her own brand of cosmetics called The Wicked Beauty. I'm so beyond proud of her. She was one of the first followers I had to support me and my blog and I'm beyond pumped to support her and her company. So what we have is some grease paints, 2 shadows and 2 pressed glitters (in bottle caps I might add!) to talk about.
Lets talk about the grease paints first. I think these are so cool. You know the NYX Cosmic Metals I reviewed not long ago? These are better. They are full pigment, they're beautiful colors, and an awesome metallic finish. They do have a fragrance so bear that in mind if you're sensitive to that. Now, the packaging your seeing above for the grease paints are just sample size. You get 5ml of each full sized grease paint for $9 or you can get a sample which is 2ml for $2. Obviously there will be transfer with these because they're more of a thicker gloss, that is loaded with pigment. I apply mine with a lip brush and it works wonderfully, you don't need much either let me tell you. My personal fave is Poppies. I'll leave some lip swatches down below.
The next thing that makes me so beyond happy is her pressed glitters. I LOVE pressed glitters as you know. I think they're easier to work with as opposed to loose glitter and they're more opaque. You still need a glitter glue to use them but that's fine with me. I apply these with my finger and I'm set. These do not disappoint. I have shades Troll Sweat and Mermaid Scales. Mermaid scales is my fave and I've never seen a color combination like this one. I love Troll Sweat too though because it's so bright and I love bright glitters. I mean go big or go home. Plus it's in a bottle cap, how cute is that? These work perfect in a z palette as well. These are $7 and have 1.3g of product in them. I use NYX Glitter Primer as the base for these.
I'm wearing Mermaid Scales in this picture above. It totally changed the entire look. I just can't explain how much I love this pressed glitter.
Next is the eye shadows. These are super soft and nicely pigmented. I only see one shade right now on the website and I don't know the shade names of the two I have. So they may not have released just yet. They are very nice though especially the mauve one, it's a gorgeous neutral shade. The mint shade, I will totally use that not just as eye shadow but as highlighter as well.
So I think she done a great job. I truly recommend the Grease Paints for sure, if you aren't sold on them fully then get a sample size and just see how you like it first. Obviously the pressed glitters are amazing too and she has quite a few shades to choose from as well. So definitely check her shop out. I linked it at the very beginning of the post.
NYC Cosmetics just launched their Cosmic Metals Lip Creams. There are 10 shades on the Ulta website but I think there is actually more because one of the shades I'm going to talk about isn't on the website anymore. These are lip creams and not at all like liquid lipsticks. So these transfer, they're heavier, and act more like a super pigmented gloss. Which is fine by me because they are very metallic so I don't mind that they fade away and I'd rather them transfer or fade as opposed to rub off or crumble like a liquid lipstick.
These run for $7.49 and if you're lucky sometimes you'll catch it buy one get one 50% off. Plus Ulta always has a $3.50 off coupon. Which is what I done. What I like about this line is that there are odd colors, bright colors, and bold colors. What I don't like so much is that they don't have really good wearable everyday shades too. Like I'd like to see a dark red, a dark berry, a cool toned brown or a taupe maybe. Packaging wise they're really nice and heavy. They're obviously affordable and they don't seem to have any smell to me. They're really pigmented and opaque with lots of shimmer.
This shade is "Speed of Light" which isn't on the Ulta site right now. I got this hoping it would be a bit more bronzey and darker. It's more like a rose gold bronze color that's actually quite bright. Still though it's very pretty and different.
This shade is "Extraterrestrial". Again it wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be like a dark gunmetal. It's close to that but it has some green in it in my opinion. I really like this because it's soooo different from anything I have. I like how dark it is. As you can probably tell these look very glossy and they kinda feel that way too. So once again, if you're looking for a metallic liquid lip then this is not your bag.
So all in all I think these are really nice formula wise and as far as a lip cream goes. I do wish they had some more wearable shades like I said earlier because these aren't something I'm going to wear that often. That's about the only con I can give you on these.
I've never been the type to do "monthly favorites". I used to do a "fave product of the week" post but I got lazy with that. So I'm just gonna do a mash up of some products that I freaking love as of late.
**The image above is from the Sephora site.**
So this is the Foreo Mini that I got when my Luna Play went down for the count after like 20 uses (fail). I've actually went ahead and got the even bigger one now as well because I love these so much. My skin texture is what is most noticeable. It's so smooth. This is a 3 area style cleanser. It will pulse when it's time to go to your next area. So how I use it is, I do one cheek, side of the nose and half the chin, then once it pulses I switch to the other cheek and do the same thing, then lastly I do my entire forehead and bridge of the nose. I love this thing. It's rechargeable and lasts for quite a while on a full charge. This is less expensive than the others but it's still pretty expensive.
**this picture above is from the Sephora site**
I got this in a trio set of Amore Pacific products. This is the Moisture Bound spray. I have a video using the products here from my Instagram. I just like how nice this feels on the skin and how refreshing it is. Plus it smells really good. I also have their mositurizer and their cleanser which also smells amazing but this is the stand out product for me and I use it every night after I've used my Foreo Mini. I usually use it especially if my skin is feeling really sensitive and uncomfortable. It's not super dewy it's a very fine mist. It's a brand you don't hear much about but I think the whole line is at Sephora now.
**this picture is also from Sephora's site**
I've already done a blog post all about the Benefit brow products that were recently released. I'll leave that link here, it's more in depth. This is the Goof Proof. I've not put it down since I got it though. It's simple to use and it makes it easy for me to both define, sculpt and fill in my brows. It allows so much pigmentation and it doesn't feel heavy on the brows.
I got these press on nails from Static Nails on a whim, they weren't very expensive and I just decided to buy them. I don't know why because I've always hated press on nails. These are no joke though. Not at all. I swear these are better than professionally done acrylics. They are even paintable. So if you get tired of the design you can paint them. The only down side is that my glue actually glued the lid shut to it when I used it the first time. So you're supposed to be able to take these off whenever you want and then pop them back on when you want them on again. In my opinion you might get two separate wears out of it. None the less they are awesome. My advice is when you apply them at first just plan on wearing them as long as you can. I did paint mine and the nail polish chipped easily on them. So I don't think painting them is always the best option but maybe on the solid colors it would work better. This is the "Shattered Glass" style. They have others with crystals on them and some with "red bottoms". They're very cool.
I've done a whole blog post talking about my devotion to the Jouer Lip Cremes. I'll leave the link here for that. I will eventually have every color because they smell like cupcakes and they're honestly the best liquid lip I've ever used. They are so comfortable and wear so well it's amazing honestly.
Lastly, it's not makeup related at all. This was sent to me from Ettika and Free People. I believe it's called the "velvet star choker" and has about 5 shades. I got the tan/camel shade cause well....obviously it's gorgeous. This is my first choker and I love this. It just looks so different. This can be found in Free People stores and on www.freepeople.com.
So recently I got the opportunity to review some new products from The Estee Edit. I have the Pore Vanishing Stick, Beam Team, Flash Illuminator in shade 4 Day Light, and The Barest Lip Color shade 05 In The Buff.
So Estee Lauder is known more so for appealing to maybe an older target if you will, even though we all know we love some Double Wear. Don't play, if you don't love it you've at least owned 1 bottle. I'm not kidding Double Wear is the OG of good foundation. Moving on, they have introduced The Estee Edit line which is full of tons of cool and innovative products. When I say innovative I mean it. I shit you not, they have a lip stick transformer (2 actually) that LITERALLY makes doing an ombre lip a piece of cake as well as just making a lip color into something entirely different. It's incredible. They have a ton of new products, I actually viewed them all in store with my friend Edie who works at my Sephora in Knoxville. If you live around here go in and ask for her she really knows what she's talking about. Anyways, from packaging to the line itself it's all REALLY REALLY GOOD. I'm so impressed with what they've done and all I can say is it must have taken a long time to get all of that together because..... it's a lot.
So starting with the Pore Vanishing Stick. I love this product. I don't know about you but when I use other pore filling or minimizing products, that you apply before makeup or touch up with, they tend to have that "slip" feeling which is usually from a silicone ingredient and for whatever reason that makes my foundation and makeup slide right off my face. It makes me super oily, it just doesn't work for me. This on the other hand is stick form and thus goes on the skin and then when you touch the skin, after applied, it feels.... like skin. Like you didn't do anything at all to it, but your skin looks smoother or mine did. Now I'm not saying it made every large pore disappear but I was able to wear a ton of highlight and pretty much apply it to my entire face without making my pores look humongous. So I really like this. Now, for whatever reason after I used it my stick started to get bumps in the product which is why I'm not showing you what the product looks like in this post. It's not a big deal but it is something that I feel when I apply it to my skin, I feel the bumps in the stick now when it used to be smooth. So I still use it and love it but just so I'm being honest that has happened to mine.
Next is The Beam Team. This is a cool product. This is basically an illuminated cream/moisturizer with a cream poured highlighter on top of the twist off cap. I don't used the highlighter in the cap that much but this cream is so nice. Mine comes out quite golden but when rubbed in, it sinks into the skin and feels good like a really good moisturizer would. I have used this applied after foundation, with foundation and on it's own and I like it every time. I will say that if you don't want specific areas to have some "glow" to them you may want to apply this before foundation or to specific places after foundation. This is also great if you don't want to wear foundation but you still want to look healthy and well....glowing. So days on the beach, lake, or just running errands this is perfect for those "skin focus" kinda days.
Next is the Barest Colour lipcolor in 05 In The Buff. This is a sheer to medium, high shine, super creamy neutral lipstick. This shade is actually pretty dark on first glance but swatched it's a medium mauve with a hint of brown. Applied it gives the lips just enough color. No it's not gonna last all day but this is great for those who are running late, don't want to think about it, don't want to worry if your lipstick is jacked up in a meeting, or whatever because it will apply easily but as it fades it will do so unnoticeable. Plus we all carry lipstick in our purse for touch ups anyway.
Last is the Flash Illuminator. This comes in a few other shades and my shade is Day Light. I probably wouldn't have picked this color for myself because it has kind of a pink undertone, but this makes great cream blush that can double as a highlight, or be a base for both blush or highlight. Which is actually how I like using it, as a base. I will be honest though and say in general I don't use cream blushes or highlights often. They've never really been my thing but this is a pretty thick formula and beautiful product that does what it should do so I have no complaints as far as how it performs or is made.
Below I'm gonna add in some pictures of swatches and me wearing the products. I applied the creams with a damp sponge and you'll see once they're on they just make you look really healthy and glowing.
**I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.**
Wearing Flash Illuminator in Day Light, the Beam Team all over, and The Barest Lip Colour in 5 In The Buff. Pore Vanishing stick was applied before foundation.
Flash Illuminator in 4 Day Light
Barest Lipcolour in 5 In The Buff
So this is the Beam Team. The color in the lid is not super pigmented, so don't let the color fool you or intimidate you. The color of the cream looks super yellow gold but worked into the skin it's not so yellow gold. Don't let that fool you either.
You can get this at Sephora, Nordstrom, Belk, and Dillards I'm sure. Here's some promos for Sephora. Use Ebates and get you some cash back. Sephora has 8% cash back right now.

So as of late, I've loved and I mean LOVED the Jouer Long Wear Lip Cremes. I've been using these for around 2 weeks and I started off with two, then got two more, and then two more. Basically, because simply put they are amazing. From finish, to smell, how they feel and how they wear, they are my new favorite liquid lipsticks of all time. I choose these over ABH, Dose of Colors, Colour Pop, all of them. I feel like they're kind of a hidden gem as well. I hear some chatter about Jouer Cosmetics but not much and not usually about these.
I buy mine from Frends Beauty. They are also available on the Jouer website of course, Dermstore (which has a coupon code right now "July4" for 20% off but I'm not positive it'll work on these. Worth a shot anyway), and Nordstrom They are $18, so they're not exactly wallet friendly. However, with Frends Beauty you can sign up for a free membership and get 10% off all your purchases. So while that may not seem like a lot, at least it's something. There are 14 shades in the permanent Lip Creme line I believe, and 4 shades in the limited edition Mermaid line. I have 2 from the Mermaid line and then I have 4 from the permanent line. I'm sure I will eventually own them all because I love them that much.
These are the swatches from top to bottom:
Unicorn - Mermaid line
Daiquiri - Mermaid line
Cerise - Lip Creme
Melon - Lip Creme
Peche - Lip Creme
Framboise- Lip Creme
Now both lines are liquid lipsticks in my opinion or at least the staying power of liquid lipsticks considering the formula and texture is not liquid. They dry down completely and don't budge. You need to remove these with an oil or oil based remover. I just use an oil to take mine off. This picture was taken right after I swatched them so you could see them wet, The picture below is when they had dried to show if they changed color once dry.
Same swatches...only now they're completely dry. So here's what I've noticed. I don't feel like online swatches, like on company websites and what not, give you an accurate idea of the color. I do feel like these swatches on here are more true to color in real life. Except for Cerise. It looks so watermelon, bright and summery in pictures and on camera but I have a picture wearing it here, and you can see that it's basically a cool toned bright red. Which I guess could still be disputed as a watermelon shade but it was just red to me. It's still gorgeous but it was not at all what I expected when I got it.
Next is these literally look like velvet on the lips. All of mine have been super pigmented, not patchy in the slightest and look so smooth and soft texture, wise on the lips. So they don't look like dried up lips. They feel really good as well. Also, they smell like cupcakes. Literally cupcakes with frosting. So if you aren't into that smell or if you don't like heavy fragrance in lip products bear that in mind. They wear really really well. Pretty much like all liquid lipsticks do I guess except for super mousse-y formulas, I find those tend to wear off faster than thinner formulas.
Lastly, from the Mermaid line there are two matte finishes and two metallic finishes so I got one of each. I notice with the metallic finish that it does transfer even when completely dried down. Maybe all metallics are like that but I'm not sure. Honestly, I do not like the metallic finish. In general I don't usually go for that, but I definitely don't like a bright or pale metallic finish period or at least I've not found one yet that I like. I do like darker shades in metallic finishes occasionally. Formula wise it was the same as the rest but I just don't like the color or finish. That's just personal preference though I think. Also the Mermaid line is limited edition as a summer launch I'm assuming, and it's very bright colors.....naturally.
These are about as tall as a YSL lipstick. So they aren't the slender longer tubes of liquid lipstick like most of the ones you see. Actually, Dose of Colors packaging is taller than these. They are .21oz which is about the same amount in the KVD liquid lipsticks and double the amount of product in ABH liquid lipsticks. So don't let their small packaging fool you, you're still getting a good amount of product. Plus, they are a couple dollars cheaper than those.
So that's my thoughts on these. I hope I gave you a hefty amount of information. Like I said these aren't really talked about as much as I feel they should be. Definitely not getting the recognition they deserve in my opinion. I hope this was helpful in some way and have a happy and safe 4th of July!
**The picture above is the product picture from Sephora.**
So Urban Decay just re-done ALL their lipsticks. A couple months ago they clearanced out their Revolution lipsticks and even the Gwen Stefani lipsticks. I got several of those that were on clearance. They've now realeased 100 lipsticks in new packaging. That's right 100 shades. 20 shades are exclusive to Sephora, some are old favorites and some are brand spankin' new, I want to think they re-formulated but all I can find is that they just upgraded the packaging.
There are 6 finishes:
4 Shimmer finish
15 High Shine Finish
14 Metallic Finish
34 Satin Finish
Now some of these are broken down into Comfort Matte, Mega Matte, Cream, Sheer and Sheer Shimmer. I swatched 24 of the most popular shades and I find that the formula, for example on shades Naked and Stark Naked, is not very different from the ones I have in those same shades. I feel the same about the Sheer Anarchy shade. It feels and seems the same as the older one. My favorite formulas are the Comfort Mattes and the Creams. The Mega Mattes are super pigmented but a bit too dry for my liking on some of them. The Metallized formula I'm just not a fan of either because metallic is not my favorite finish. There is one Sheer that I do kinda like which is Snitch.
So my faves are:
Menace: Comfort Matte
Backtalk: Comfort Matte
So here's the complete list with what finish they are and what finish Sephora has them as:
Sheer Anarchy - Sheer, High Shine Finish
Jilted - Cream, Satin Finish
Firebird - Cream, Satin Finish
Psycho - Comfort Matte, Matte Finish
Disturbed - Comfort Matte, Matte Finish
Manic - Cream, Satin Finish
Gash - Cream, Satin Finish
EZ - Cream, Satin Finish
714 - Mega Matte, Matte Finish
Snitch - Sheer, High Shine Finish
Naked - Cream, Satin Finish
Conspiracy - Metallized, Metallic Finish
Backtalk - Comfort Matte, Matte Finish
Rapture - Cream, Satin Finish
Stark Naked - Comfort Matte, Matte
Amulet - Metallized, Metallic Finish
ZZ - Cream, Satin Finish
Gubby - Metallized, Metallic Finish
Seismic - Sheer Shimmer, Shimmer Finish
Menace - Comfort Matte, Matte Finish
Pandemonium - Mega Matte, Matte Finish
Big Bang - Metallized, Metallic Finish
There are a few misses for me, which are:
For one reason or another, either color or application I just couldn't make those shades work for me.
These are $17 a piece. Most are super nice. You have 100 shades to choose from and 6 different finishes as I said above. These are available at Sephora, Ulta, and the Urban Decay website of course.
Promos for Sephora:
Deluxe Size of Too Faced Sun Bunny bronzer w/ $25 purchase: INSTABRONZE
7 day sample set of Ole Henrickson 3 little wonders set w/ $25 purchase: GLOWING
Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Oil w/ $25 purchase: INSTASMOOTH
As always use Ebates and get you some cash back if you're shopping online. It costs you nothing to sign up or to shop through them. It only gives you a percentage of your subtotal back to you. A check is sent out quarterly or transferred to your Pay Pal.
Colour Pop released a new formula of lippie stix. Well not technically new, they released Matte X with the lippie stix Trust Issues earlier. I'm assuming that they realized it was bomb and then they decided to release an entire line. Which I'm in full support of.
So they released 15 shades of the Matte X formula. They do have other mattes, these are more matte obviously. So I've heard great things about all the neutral and more wearable colors. However, I heard the ones that were bright and different were harder to work with and of course I went with those.
Above I'm wearing Topless on the top left. Barely There is the bottom left. Climax is on the right.
I got two shades that I heard were difficult and then one that wasn't. I personally didnt have an issue with any of them. The swatches above are: Climax, Barely There, and Topless.
Yes those names are the real names lol. I find them comfortable. Way more comfortable then most liquid lipsticks. They can look a little dry but with a good lip balm they're fine. They wear really well for a long time. If you don't like liquid lipsticks but you need more staying power from a lipstick i woukd get these. They are $5 a piece and you can't beat that.
The color Topless is very similar to CP Pacific and Botanicals or in between. Pacific is matte formula and a shade darker than Topless where Botanicals is more like a sherbet color.
Barely There is very similar to ABH Sweet Talker liquid lipstick. Super similar. Darn near dupe.
Obviously I dont have anything close to the shade Climax which is a matte blueberry color. Most blues that I have are very metallic with shimmer in them. Its hard to find a matte navy blue.
So that's it. Short and sweet, they're awesome and I highly recommend them. If you find they do get too dry or look cakey just apply a good balm first. Or use a more moisturizing one if the one you have isn't doing enough moisturizing.
I'm a makeup and skincare lover. I have always enjoyed creating looks but I love to help people with product knowledge and application even more. I've been able to do these things because God has seen fit to bless me with the opportunity.
