Hey guys! I know that Valentine's Day is over but thanks to my illnesses and also my husbands schedule we don't always get to have a planned "date night". However, we were blessed to have one the other day and I was so excited. So I thought it was the perfect time to detail my "date night" go to products. *Some of these products were gifted or sent in press samples. Some were not. Not an ad. Starting with what I do at home: I am not the biggest fan of perfumes, I certainly don't wear them everyday. I do believe in making "scent memories". Where if you smell a scent it takes you back to certain things. Like if I smell funnel cakes I think of Dollywood or the fair that comes into town. Turkey and dressing makes me think of holidays. Firepits make me think of fall. So on and so forth. I wore a Gucci perfume on my wedding day. I wear Marc Jacobs "Daisy" during the summer because I think it's more of a lighter scent. I recently got a perfume for Christmas from my parents from Commodity called "Moss". It doesn't smell appealing but it's lovely. My absolute favorite scents are unisex or more masculine scents. In actuality I think they're just more herbal scents. I am a big fan of Commodity scents. They aren't cheap but they have travel sizes that last quite a while. I carry their "Bergamot" scent in my purse which is more of a day time scent. Moss is my preferred night time, date night scent. I try to wear it on specific date nights even if it's just an at home date night because I think it's a nice added touch to give scents a memory. There's only been a few scents that my husband has ever really noticed so I think that's why I have very few fragrances that I wear. It's also why I don't mind splurging on perfume because I have less than 5 in my collection. I love when he wears cologne as well so I think it's nice to add that to the routine. I like to paint my nails and toes before a date. Either in a bright red or a dark red, navy, chocolate, etc. I rarely ever have a dark shade on my toes. I have the NCLA Beauty nail polish in Call My Agent on my toes. I have the Le Mini Macaron Chocolate Cherry on my finger nails right now. I always use a fail safe foundation. Lately it's been the Hourglass Vanish Liquid because the finish is so beautiful, and the other foundation that never lets me down is the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I also use a perfect concealer because the under eyes and so far there's only been one that doesn't make my under eyes look like garbage as the night goes on, and that's First Aid Beauty Bendy Avacado mixed with a touch of Too Faced Born This Way sculpting concealer. I usually wear lashes on any type of occasion, event, or date. I only use Kiss Lashes faux mink Boudior or Little Black Dress. They aren't super dramatic they just add some emphasis to the eyes. I like to go pretty heavy handed with blush because I want the skin to have a flush and dimension without relying solely on contour or bronzer. So I've been using Lorac matte build-able blush in Technicolor lately. I bring it up the temple and let it fade around the top of the eye brow. I don't mean crazy insane 80's pink. Just a beautiful flush. To make you look super healthy. This is one of the few times I actually use a setting mist. I like the Wet N Wild PhotoFocus mist, UD All Nighter, and the Covergirl Outlast Active cooling setting mist. The Covergirl is probably what I'd be likely to throw in a bag because it is cooling.
Now having products in my bad is just as necessary: As I stated about I have a perfume in there. I also have Super Smile Quikee which is a dissolving tooth past and breath freshener. So cool. You run it on your teeth without a tooth brush and it dissolves and helps remove stainds while also freshening up your breath. I keep one Pillow Pout color in there. A neutral obviously. I don't like liquid lipstick on a date that much anymore. The Pillow Pout stays on well and fades naturally as you eat and drink and doesn't get dry. I always keep a mini concealer which is the Stellar Beauty concealer right now. It's small and easy to travel with. I can just tap it out with my finger and be on my way. Get yourself a lighted compact mirror. Fancii has one and even though it's pretty big it's still what I would keep in my bag. I keep either a beauty sponge or a travel size buffing brush so blend out any patchiness and so on. I also travel with a standard blending brush. Mine is from Sigma and it's an E25. I have a dual ended brush from Urban Decay in there that was from some palette and it's more of a packing brush and intensifying a cream. I don't carry around eyeshadow but I just blend whatever is on my eyes if it's starting to crease or get patchy. I always carry lash glue, tweezers, and liquid liner. Mainly to adjust your lashes or glue the corners back down and liquid liner especially for the moment you rip your lashes off out of frustration and thus you can touch up the places that are bald on the lid that was taken off with the glue from the lashes. I like to keep a cream highlight to touch up with. Right now that's the Laritzy Dew Pot in Utopia. I keep the Beth Collins MD lip treatment in there in Peppermint. I keep these on my night stand as well. It's a very thick moisturizing lip balm. Sometimes I'll take a mini hairspray or mini dry shampoo for touch ups but not always. If it was a big event or date I would most definitely. So that's it. That is my essentials for "date night".
