I've been promising a review to you for a while on the Drunk Elephant C Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream and today is that day! I like to be as thorough as I can when reviewing skincare. I've used this everyday for over 6 weeks now. I mainly use it at night but you can use it am and pm. This has been the first product that I've refused to take out of rotation in order to use other products. That is monumental for me because I'm constantly rotating products so that I'll use what I have, and not let it just sit there forgotten. I will say that eye cream is the product that I have the least amount of. It's hard for me to be pleased with them most of the time and in general I think 75% of them don't work. I'm happy to say I feel very different about C Tango. As you know Drunk Elephant is a brand that I love just about everything I've ever tried from them and I've tried most of their products so that's saying a lot. Honestly though when I seen this was coming out, I knew it was going to be good and very different from every eye cream out there and I find that it is.
Drunk Elephant has sent me a product in the past, but I bought this myself during the VIB sale from Sephora. It's $64 for .05 oz (15 ml) and it's in a twist up pump packaging like their C Firma, and T.L.C. Framboos serum. Like I said I've been using this for a little over 6 weeks, I use a small amount and it definitely feels lighter but so far it still has product in it. So I can't tell you as of right now how long it lasts. This is also cruelty free. When I say small amount I mean probably half the size of a pea for each eye. I tap it in under the eye and then I just bring anything left up onto the lid and brow area. I'm not entirely sure if they want you to do that but it's worked out really nice so far. I have been waiting for a while to find an eye product that had a potent amount of Vitamin C in it specifically. I thought it was odd that I didn't really see many products that did that and it just made sense to have a sophisticated formula to use on the eye area to provide the brightening effect of Vitamin C and the awesome antioxidant benefits. This has 5 forms of Vitamin C, 8 peptides, cucumber, and more to help the overall health of the skin, brighten, firm, soothe, and hydrate. I had no irritation to this, a lot of times when I use a potent Vitamin C it can burn or sting a little. This didn't do that at all, and I didn't expect it to because the eye area is such thin skin and sensitive that I knew they wouldn't put out a formula that would irritate the area in the least. I'm going to make a bold statement here, there are plenty of products that are marketed toward dark circles whether to make them go away or help them look better. I don't feel like this is heavily marketed towards that claim but that's been the biggest change I've noticed is that my dark circles have gotten so much better. I didn't think anything of it until I realized I wasn't using near the amount of corrector that I had been before. I also wasn't using as much concealer that I had been. Don't get me wrong they aren't gone, and if I'm really sick they get intense but in general they don't need near the coverage or correction that they had needed before, most days. I still see some fine lines but they definitely aren't as deep which leads me to think the hydration this product has does a good job at plumping the area, thus smoothing out some of the lines. I also notice that the texture is much different. I have actual texture on the inner corner of my eyes, on the side of the bridge of the nose. This has made that less noticeable especially while wearing makeup because foundation and concealer really emphasized that texture so much more int he past. So to put this really plainly, if you're looking for a very good eye cream: here you go. I don't feel like anything compares to it because of the formula and what all it does for the area and health of the skin. I'm super happy that it's antioxidant and peptide heavy, rather than just being super hydrating like most eye creams. This doesn't just have one benefit, it has several benefits. Which most of Drunk Elephant's products are like that. I'm going to leave some of the product information down below including ingredients, that way you can see what the brand claims are and don't have to go searching for the ingredients.
