I feel like I don't get to discuss makeup with you as much as I'd like to. I'm definitely more invested and passionate about skincare than I am makeup the older I get. Which I never thought I would feel that way but I truly do love my skin and I try to show it love lol. Anyway, I love makeup too and through the past few months I've got to try a lot of makeup that's both new and some that I just discovered for myself. From high end to drugstore we're gonna talk about all the products I've been using the most here lately. For powder I have been either using my all time favorite Algenist Color Correcting Pressed Powder or the Musteav loose silky cotton translucent powder. I got that powder in the Beauty Essentials box by @allanface and it is phenomenal. I absolutely love it.
Lately I've not even been wearing blush, which is kind of odd because I really love blush especially in fall and wearing a deeper blush. Lately though I've not been feeling it and only been using bronzer to warm up the cheeks and then contouring a little more than I have before. I've been enjoying a heavier contour. Mainly because I've been using Luscious Cosmetics Matte Drama contour kit. It is very nice but it's very dark. They have the original one as well that I would probably recommend to everyone unless you have a deeper skin tone or you enjoy a deeper contour like I do. There really isn't any new lip colors or formulas that I've been loving except for the trio set that ABH released not long ago, there is a shade called Bittersweet in it that is a chocolate-y color and it's gorgeous. I've loved that for this fall. The only other thing I've been using is the MyChelle lip hints. I love those things! They done such a good job. My favorite thing to do is use a lip liner and then use a lip hint to smudge the actual line and go on about my day. Or if I'm not wearing any makeup that day I love throwing on ball cap and a lip hint and going on about my day. I always pick up Berry but any of them would be fine. They have such a beautiful shine to them and they are not waxy they are super thin but still heavily moisturizing. Moving onto eye products. I've re-discovered and fell in love with the ABH Brow Wiz again. I'm really into just any super thin brow pencil. Since my hair is mainly blue I've been using Taupe shades of brow pencils that way if I need to darken it up I can do so easily with powder and I can switch that up however I want. Whether it's adding blue in on the tail of the brow or giving it a more contoured look with a darker shade. That's been my brow routine lately. My eye primers I go between two. Either the Elf Eye Primer which is fantastic and I feel like it's kinda hydrating. It's definitely not drying. I also have been using the Elizabeth Mott primer. Sometimes I just use concealer. The problem with concealer is thanks to the pigment it has in it and if it's a dry formula it really can emphasize a dry eye area. Which isn't cute. I've gotten a ton of new shadows lately but I still find myself using JD Glow the most. Aside from their shadows, I've really been enjoying the Prism palette from ABH. When I think about it I've really tried a ton of shadows over the last two months and there is something I like in everything but I don't absolutely love everything about them. I've been using the Jaclyn Hill palette quite a bit for neutrals and transition shades but I think it's just because that's been what's easiest to grab right now or in my line of sight. I'm in a deep, loving, relationship with Hourglass Voyeur Liquid Liner right now. I can't get past it. I did just try the Prestige Vinyl Liquid Liner and I like it as well but I think I just like liquid liner pens. I am SO in love with the Kristofer Buckle line of makeup lately but the Grand Opening Voluminizing mascara is my favorite. I am super hard on mascaras because my lashes are thin and dismal. This mascara makes a difference and doesn't get clumpy or heavy but it evenly coats your lashes and the wand is the perfect size. I've truly not loved a mascara this much since L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black. Speaking of lashes I've been either wearing super natural looking lashes like Kiss wispy lashes that are barely noticeable or I go completely opposite and wear Violet Voss Eye Need You lashes. So that's it. I've been gravitating to these products lately. Some of them aren't my all time faves. Some of them aren't necessarily Holy Grail. Still I think it's interesting to look at what you're reaching for subconsciously. There will be another makeup post coming up soon and a Sephora Haul from the VIB Rouge sale.
