So in the Sephora sale blog post I mentioned that I picked up the new Benefit Brow Contour Pro pencil which reminds you of the 4 in 1 pens we had when we were kids. You just slide the tab down for which ever product you're needing. I have shade Brown-Black/Light. Which is light defining and highlighting shades for the skin and darker shades for filling in my dark brows. So, I've not watched any reviews on this really. I didn't want my opinion to be swayed at all. I learned of it from Tati's video and thought that it was just so interesting that it was 4 products in one and twist up mechanical pencils. So there is a highlight shade to highlight the brow bone, you have a definer shade which is slightly darker than the highlight shade and acts kinda like concealer that you "carve" out the brows with or how you would clean up the brow. You then have two dark shades one lighter than the other but not by much just a subtle shift in color. I find they're more neutral based in tone. Not warm toned at all which is a pet peeve of mine so I'm very happy about that.
All the pencils appear to be the same size and they aren't precision pencils or angled. This is the only real bummer I have about the product. I wish the pencils were thinner at the very least for the darker shades. Or I wish at least one of the darker shades was much thinner. It would be easier to sculpt and get a more "clean" brow look, I feel. Not that you can't accomplish it with this, you can and it's not that it's very difficult I'm just saying it would be a little easier if there was a difference in the sizes. However, I don't know how to make the product and assemble it so I don't know if that would be very difficult, cost a lot more, or what. I'm sure they have their reasons. Currently the price sits at $34 for this product which I feel is worth it for 4 products assuming that they don't run out super fast. Which when that happens I will update this post to let you know the time span I had. I have done very sculpted looks with this and also more natural looks with this. I've used every shade and I find that it's better to use a light hand with it and use is at the side of the pencil to get a thinner line. This doesn't have a spoolie which doesn't bother me because I only have one type of spoolie that I like so I'm used to grabbing a spoolie to blend everything through. I notice that with this I tend to clean up my brows more because the definer shade is right there for me to use instead of trying to get concealer and a brush and run the risk of it being really really sculpted and sharp, which I tend to dislike on myself. So when I want a more natural look I tend to just fill in a touch and use the definer shade to make it look more sculpted naturally and comb in some brow gel and I'm good to go. Bottom line: this is a product that I like using and will continue to use because it's convenient. There will be people that prefer their precision pencil or their angled definer pencil more and there will be those lucky ones that only need Gimme Brow, Boy Brow, or Kush Brow tinted gels on their brows and they're set. It's all in what you want. If you have several steps and products for your brows already then I think you should try it. If you're very low key and you naturally have nice or fuller brows then you probably don't need it. I tend to like it because it works for whatever I'm feeling like that day and the fact that I can be more natural looking if I want or I can be more sculpted if I want. My favorite part was this was a breath of fresh air as far as a "new" product. I'm so tired of seeing the same stuff being launched by every brand and it was nice to see an innovative and new idea all around for once because truly that is what sold me. I thought that if this turned out to be good, which it has, it would be the most handy thing to have to travel with or just general day to day use. Making it easier and faster to do brows. There are 5 shades to choose from. As far as how much product you get it says "4 x .003 oz" which in respect to their Goof Proof which is an angled pencil it's .01 oz and the Precision pencil that they have is .002 oz. Also if this isn't your thing they have sets now of their brow products depending on what you want for basically the same price as this which I think it cool too. I got mine from Sephora, I'm not sure if ULTA has it but I would think that they do or they will. This isn't sponsored, obviously.
