Covergirl has launched a new mascara and primer. While this post won't be super long, I though why not review it really fast. The newest additions are Flourish Lash Blast Amplify Primer and 4 shades of the new Flourish by Lash Blast mascara. So like any good review, I did one eye with the primer and one without to see how this mascara applied, how it wears, if you can build, etc. The primer is for prepping the lashes obviously, and to "evenly maximize the results of your favorite Covergirl mascara". So you don't have to specifically use this with the Flourish mascara you can use it with whatever you want. I appreciate that. It's also more of a cream color than the traditional white. So don't be alarmed thinking the primer has "turned" or it's old because it's not super white. Flourish has several oils in both the mascara and the primer to condition the lashes. Some of the oils are coconut, papaya, and avocado. That gave me some pause. I was worried it would be too heavy, or the transfer would be ridiculous. Like legit thought it would just slide right off my lashes onto my faces. Which is a bit dramatic now that I say that. I'm happy to say it wasn't too heavy and it dried down easily without moving. It definitely works much better with the primer only because it really does apply more evenly on the primer thus making each individual lash stand out and therefore looks much thicker. Without the primer it still does very well. I've not noticed any transfer as of right now. I also notice that it seems "mediocre" at first glance when you first apply it because it doesn't apply a ton of product on the first go. The beauty of it is that it builds very well without clumping together. Once again if you used the primer first, it looks even better but it still looks good without it. You can build it when you first put it on or you can add more coats as it dries and you think you might possibly need a little more when looking at your makeup. I put several coats of this on and it didn't clump and it was just the right amount of definition. If you are someone who uses two mascaras. I would use this first because it's very good for building and making the lash line look thicker. It also doesn't put a ton of excess product on your lashes. There's not an absolute ton of mascara on the wand. So you don't have to wipe product off the wand all that much really. The wand is not a big thick wand by any means. I would say it's a medium size wand. The primer wand is a big wand in my opinion but it still works fine.
So would I purchase these? Yes I would. I think they're very nice. I would get the primer and the mascara both. Time will tell if my lashes get stronger and healthier thanks to the oils in this. For right now, I think they're good products that deliver results.
