OK. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE GLITTER OVERLOAD PEOPLE!? Listen, I know that we've shared plenty of articles and discussed this a few times already but apparently the brands aren't getting the message. QUIT PUTTING GLITTER IN PRODUCTS!!!! I'm down for loose glitter pigments for the eye, I'm ok with glitter eye shadows or oversprays of glitter in my eyeshadow. BUT I DO NOT WANT GLITTER ALL OVER MY FACE AND THEN IN MY SKINCARE AS WELL. ITS A "NO" ON BOTH CATEGORIES. Here's the thing, it scratches the skin. Not to mention it's a mess to clean up, get rid of, and apply. If it wasn't something that could actually hurt you're skin you wouldn't see me making a post about it ok? In general, it's whatever you wanna do with your face I'm cool with just try not to really screw up your skin. I am also no stranger to using it during halloween looks, I do use it for more "avante garde" looks and I pay for it greatly. Don't get me wrong, I love how glitter looks. I love glitter backgrounds, glittery accents, paper, on clothes, give me the sparkle guys I'm here for it! Just not all over my face preferably.
I understand that it's going to find it's way into makeup here and there a lot, and I'll just avoid those products. So no I won't be trying the Glitter Stick from Milk for one example or glitter highlighters. It's the skincare that has glitter in it that really gets on my nerves. I'm sorry I just really don't buy skincare products because they look "fun". I don't buy Lotion P50 because it's a walk amongst the roses folks, because it smells like vinegar and regrets BUT IT WORKS FREAKING MIRACLES. So if the package can be cute or innovative I'm all for it, as long as it's not annoying packaging, but that's not why I buy skincare products. I buy them because it's either something I feel my skin needs, could benefit from, I want to try this formula, etc. I am more concerned about what's in it rather than how it looks. IF GLITTER IS EVEN MENTIONED, I'M OUT. So now that I got that off my chest let's get back to our regularly scheduled programming.
