As you know I'm a huge fan of REN skincare. They've always stayed true to their message and their story in an ever changing world. Especially in the ever changing skincare community. Their products are "clean" and have been since I can remember. The packaging is also 100% recyclable. They have products that will suit pretty much everyone while also being very effective. The line I want to discuss today is the Evercalm line because it's my favorite. It is soothing and helps with redness. It's amazing for sensitized skin. The Evercalm line is a best seller and "uses clean bio-actives to help train sensitized skin and protect it against harmful pollutants". It's supposed to calm irritated skin and target redness but also designed to allow the skin to breathe. So nothing too heavy or too rich that makes it feel like your skin is smothering under product.
There are five products in the line and they have value sets to offer as well which you should know by now that value sets are my favorite way to go when I'm trying new products. First is the cleansers there is the Cleansing Milk and the Cleansing Gel. The Cleansing Milk is my pick. The Gentle Cleansing Milk is "Developed to help fortify the skin against signs of premature ageing, this silky cleanser removes the day's dirt and make-up, bolsters skin's resistance to harmful free radicals and calms the signs of irritation to leave skin refreshed and soothed." It's calming, there is no tight feeling, it's beautiful as a morning cleanse. I absolutely love it. The Cleansing Gel is what I would use as part of my double cleanse routine, as the second cleanse. It's made to make the skin feel the more "cleansed" feeling. Where as the milk is more of a very gentle and soothing cleanse this is more of a refreshing and deeply cleansed feeling like many gel cleansers. It is still designed to be calming and to help with re-balance the skin. They both are 150 ml each. Next up is the Global Protection Day Cream. All my friends refer to this as "sweet nectar from the Heaven's" no I'm not making that up either. My friend Savannah, or "Poodle" as you should know by now, really enjoys this product specifically. She uses a prescription retinol and thus the skin can be very sensitized with that and this works well for her. She used it on her wedding day and aside from getting married, I think this was her second favorite part of the day lol. I'm kidding....no I'm not. ANYWAY, this feels very luxurious on the skin, it's a proper cream texture so it comes out more on the thicker side I guess but doesn't sit on the skin. It's like the skin drinks it up leaving it hydrated, soothed, and protected. It's like a spa day in a bottle if that's not to bold to say. It is a day cream but it's "designed to repair skin's natural barriers to calm, hydrate and soothe". It's especially helpful for a reactive skin type and helps with signs of aging. It says to use a small amount....I probably go a little heavier than that and don't forget to take it down the neck. It is 50 ml. If you want a product that can soothe at night then I suggest the Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask. Ok....I tend to use this product as an "as needed" product. "Developed to stop the sensitive skin cycle, this calming mask uses our own complex of bio-actives, including white grifolin mushroom extract, that instantly soothe by stopping the brain from sending stress signals to the skin." This is supposed to stop irritation immediately and calm the skin. You're directed to use a generous amount and leave it on the skin for 10-15 minutes. You can use it up to 3 times a week or as a "treatment" for when the skin get's angry. It's something I suggest having on hand. I think everyone needs a product that will neutralize or calm down irritated skin the minute it hits it and this is one of the best to have in your arsenal in my opinion for that. Along with be very soothing like every product in the line it's also very moisturizing as well. You are directed to avoid the eye area with this product though. It is 50 ml. The last product in this line is the Anti-Redness Serum. I don't have any personal thoughts on this though. I don't have it and have not had reason to get it. It is the direction I would go if I ever needed a product dedicated to redness just because I know how well the other products in this line work so I feel like it's a safe bet. This appears to do more than just target redness though, "Say goodbye to redness, irritation and dryness with this calming facial serum. Developed to replenish skin, it hydrates and repairs, reducing inflammation and visibly improving tone to help sensitized skin look younger for longer." As serums go and what I look for in a product this sounds quite nice because I don't really like "one trick pony's" I prefer it when a product can pack a punch and be helpful in numerous ways other than just one. That way it cuts down on how much layering I'm doing and how many steps I'm going through. It is 30 ml. So that's it for the Evercalm line. Like I said they offer value sets as well, where you can try numerous products instead of buying full sizes and seeing how you like them. The price point with REN is always very fair in my opinion. As opposed to other skincare brands I've tested and brands in Sephora specifically this is actually on the less expensive side. Of course it's going to be more than drugstore. Generally you're looking at around $30 for a cleanser and $40-$48 for the other products mentioned. They are Cruelty Free (leaping bunny approved). The Global Protection Day Cream appears to be the only one that is specifically labeled as "Vegan" as well though. You can find REN online which is what I'm going to link to, there are several retailers that have it as well, Sephora being one of them. I'm not affiliated with REN. I make no commission or anything off this post. They've sent me products but I've also bought several of their products as well and will continue to do so. I've been promising a post on the Evercalm line, so thus here it is.
