Revisiting Neostrata Glycolic Foaming Wash: A Holy Grail Cleanser

Hey guys! It's time to revisit a Holy Grail product of mine since 2017. It's something you will be familiar with: Neostrata Foaming Glycolic Face Wash. I was introduced to it in 2017 and quickly fell in love. I will link the first blog post as well because I discuss the company background in it, as well as the product. This post is going to be more devoted to my genuine love for it.
This is a pump bottle packaging and comes out as a foam. It does tingle. I use it as a second cleanse and night (especially if I've had a lot of product on my face that day) and as morning cleanse a few times a week. I put this on dry skin and not damp or wet skin, because I feel like it works better for me like that. This is going to be a product for people who want a deeper cleanse or are used to products that pack a little more punch. It's pH balanced and "soap free". It's also 18% Glycolic Acid and 2% Lactobionic Acid, thus making it a 20% acid complex.

We're all very familiar with Glycolic Acid on here but Lactobionic Acid (L-bionic Acid) isn't talked about much in my opinion and I really only see it being utilized by Neostrata. "Lactobionic acid is part of the PHA family and is non-irritating". It's a super gentle acid exfoliation and a strong humectant, meaning that it helps retain moisture in the skin. We know that Glycolic Acid penetrates the skin deeper because of it's molecular weight and it's the only acid that can penetrate that deep so far. Lactobionic is a larger molecular weight and thus has a slow penetration process and makes it a far more gentle exfoliation. It's also been more beneficial for photoaging which is "premature aging of the skin" due to UV exposure.

So when I look at this product I see it as a potent and deeper cleanse that is done by the Glycolic Acid that penetrates deeper into the skin. Then having the Lactobionic working on the surface. It's not just being exfoliating but also helping in retaining the skins moisture, not allowing it to dry out and feel tight as most cleansers do. Along with all the things I mentioned about above. So it's a heavy hitter. It's by far my favorite Neostrata product and probably in my top 3 cleansers of all time. I turn to this everytime I need something a little stronger, that's going to cleanse a little deeper. It's been a pleasure coming back to it and diving a little deeper into the formula for you.

This is $40 for 125 ml. I wouldn't go for this specific cleanser if you don't use acids or haven't had much experience with acid exfoliation. This is considered "maximum strength foaming cleanser" and the company itself says that it's "for experienced users of Glycolic Acid". I will leave the link down below to the Neostrata website. This was sent to me but I have no problem repurchasing it.
