The time is upon us. Sephora's Friends and Family event is only days away if you happen to be buds with an associate, otherwise it's in mid November. I waited till last minute just so I could get an idea of what sets are going to be the best and what looks interesting. This will also be in parts: skincare and makeup, and then the things I'm interested in. Let's get started. Starting with skin because that is the biggest chunk of it: I love some Sunday Riley. While Good Genes will always be my first love as far as AHA, the stand out products this year for me is the UFO Oil, The Martian Toner, and the Juno Oil. So they have two sets that I included. The Power Couple which is Luna and Good Genes in half sizes. I usually always recommend this set because it's what I started with. It's $85 Next is the Space Race Fight Acne, Oil + Pores at Warp Speed. That's a mouthful. It is the UFO oil in the half size which is .05 oz, Martian Toner is 1.7 oz (so refreshing and cooling) and the new Saturn Sulfur Mask .67oz which I haven't tried yet. I would still buy the set though because of the other two products. So the mask is really just a bonus for me. This set is $65 Drunk Elephant has hit HARD this year with the Value sets big and small! I love that they do that too. They have bigger sets that are gonna cost more because you get a lot and then they do small duos when you can save some cash if you just want to try it out. First is their Come C About Me set. I love this because it's a full size Firma C Serum ( $80) which I love and just emptied mine. The B-Hydra Gel which is very nice option for layering or for more oily skins. A smaller size of Beste Jelly Cleanser. I didn't care for this cleanser all that much but that's just my opinion. You also get a small Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense sunscreen. This set is $88. Next is the Let's Dew It. You get another one of my faves in this one which is Lala Retro Whipped Cream and it's full sized! You get a B-Hydra .5 oz and .05 oz of the Virgin Marula Oil that everyone and their uncle talks about. This set is $78. For all you TLC Framboos Serum lovers they didn't leave you out. The next set is Hot Date. It has the full size of TLC ($90), 1 oz of Beste Jelly Cleanser, .05 oz of Lala Retro Whipped Cream, and .27 oz of Marula Oil. This set is $98. They have the same duos from last year that are basically deluxe sizes of the "serum" products but they added two more. They added the Baby Facial which is an AHA treatment, and with it comes the Marula Oil. It's $25. Then they also have a duo called Hit it Off, that has the Jelly Cleanser and the Whipped Cream in it for $20. Next up is the Sephora Favorites skincare set. It has a little bit of everything in it but just to name a few it has Bum Bum Cream, YTTP Gel Cleanser, Honey Potion Mask, DE Marula Oil, DE Baby Facial, Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer, etc. This set is good for those who love to experiment with masks but who also use AHA acids or harsher products because it'd be easy to get in over your head. It has a great selection though from cleanser to treatment, mild to intense. It's $44. Then we have Fresh Best of Beauty Bundle. It has everything I like. It has the Soy Face Cleanser, The Sugar Lip Balm, Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Mask, Lotus Youth Preserve Face Mask, Black Tea Eye Concentrate. All of those products are top of the line. It's a no-brainer for me. This runs for $70. The last set I'm going to talk about is the Honey Harvest Kit from Farmacy. This is a full size of the Honey Drop moisturizer, 15g of Honey Potion, and 7g of Sleep Tight Night Balm. It goes for $45. Can't beat that. On to some individual products for the skin. Any of the Sunday Riley Oils would be good but Juno is my favorite. The Algenist Liquid Collagen is a staple of my routine, I absolutely love it and my face loves it. Dr. Roebucks Hydrating Serum and FACE moisturizer are two products I would get ASAP and they're two products that I can't live without or travel without. They're non-negotiable for me. Makeup: There really isn't that much makeup that I would encourage you to get. Only because there are so many brands now that aren't at Sephora, that have better makeup. I can tell you some items that I myself am interested in getting and trying, although I'm not 100% positive what my final thoughts would be. Definitely some more Fenty beauty. I know they're coming out with a Holiday collection. I'm personally interested in trying their foundation next. I would encourage you to get their Killawatt Highlighter if you love to highlight because I haven't put mine down since I got it. Next would be the Stila Magnificent Metal Glitter sets. They have one that is 6 glitters for $45. They aren't full size but they have all the best shades in there. I use my glitters all the time and they changed the game as far as glitter and also making glitter more wearable. There is also a trio if you'd just like to try them out. I'm very interested in the Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet set. It's 4 liquid lips and they are all shades that I love and would wear. They're perfect for fall and the holidays but they are quite bold. It's $45 and they are mini's. Milk Makeup the A-Team is a neat set if you like cream stick products. So it has a glitter stick, a bronzer, highlighter, the holographic stick, blur stick and cooling water stick. All travel sized but the set is $39 for 6 products that all do different things which I think is very cool. Anastasia Beverly Hills has released a lot of new Holiday products including the Prism palette ($42) which has a fantastic holiday Green and Gold along with a beautiful Navy. They released the Sugar Glow Kit ($40) and a trio of mini liquid lips that has one permanent shade "Dazed" and then two new shades for $25. Some items that I'm interested in or that I think would be good buys are:
The new Pat McGrath Mothership eyeshadow palettes. That's a lot of money ($125) for 10 shadows though. The Huda Beauty foundations that are about to release. There are 30 shades and they will be priced at $40. I love foundation actually, so I'm also interested in getting the NARS Velvet Matte Foundation Stick and the YSL All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation. The Amika Polished Perfection Mini Straightening Brush. It's $35, I don't know why I'm so intrigued but I am and Amika is basically one of my favorite hair companies of all time. Actually they have a few sets out right now that would be great little gifts. Like the "text(ure) me" set $21 it has the Silken up Dry Conditioner that I LOVE, the Un-done Texture Spray, and the Perk Up Dry Shampoo that I also love. They also have some mini's for $10. They all smell amazing which is a big plus. It's always a good time to stock up on products that you know you're going to use. For me that's the Sheisedo Cotton pads, Sunday Riley Good Genes, Algenist Liquid Collagen, Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask, Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser, Hourglass Voyeur Liquid Liner, Amika Nourishing Hair Mask, Kate Somerville ANYTHING, etc. You could look in my "favorites" section and if it's sold at Sephora it would be a recommendation basically from me. I'll be sure to drop in the dates for the Friends and Family sale here, when they are released.
