If you're unaware (because I was) Sephora is having a sale that starts Aug 24 - Sept 3rd for VIB Rouge, August 30th - Sept 3rd for VIB Insiders and Beauty Insiders. VIB Rouge gets 20% with code "YESROUGE", VIB gets 15% with code "YESVIB" and Beauty Insiders get 10% off with "YESINSIDER". Like always I'm here to suggest things for you to buy during the event. I'm not affiliated with Sephora in any way, I just really like to put together buying guides and, like you, I get excited for a sale. So no need to worry, I'm truly recommending things that I like. This post will be Skincare recommendations and makeup will be in the next one. That way depending on what you want you won't have to read through every single this. Starting off: Japanese and Korean beauty. Tatcha Obento Box. This has their 1.7 oz of Deep Cleanse, 1.7 oz of Water Cream, and .24 oz of the Silk Canvas primer. A full size of the primer is .7 oz is a little over a 3rd of product in comparison to the full size. I do think the Water Cream is full size. This whole set is $79. If you don't want to pay that much but still try the skincare they have several sets. One of those sets is a duo of the Deep Cleanse and Water Cream travel size for $25. Tatcha is a luxury Japanese beauty brand. It's dermatologist tested and cruelty free. It also has the Sephora "Clean seal". Dr Jart is a Korean brand and their Ceramidin in any formulation but especially the cream is an all time fave. The Cicapair cream is great to have if you get redness and irritated skin due to a reaction of some sort. The Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.Pair Serum is extremely soothing, calming, immediate relief serum, and one of my favorite products. Treatments. It's always a good time to stock up on your favorite more pricey treatments. I prefer to spend my money on the treatments in my skincare as opposed to cleanser or moisturizer for the most part. Not that I haven't paid a hefty price for cleanser and moisturizer and undoubtedly will do so again, I just tend to look at treatments first. So if you'd like a good Lactic Acid treatment "Good Genes" is one I started with. If you prefer Glycolic take a look at Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Serum which is a AHA/BHA 12% mixture. If you would rather have a liquid then try the Tarte Knockout it's a 10% complex of Lactic and Salicylic. If you want something that will be soothing on the skin definitely look at REN Evercalm, Fresh Beauty, even a nice mist like Fresh Greens from First Aid Beauty will really help soothe skin. Oils. I don't feel like you can have too many facial oils myself but there are a few that are my absolute favorites without a doubt. Those are Sunday Riley Juno it is PACKED with antioxidants and feeds the skin and I find it's great for stressed skin. Sunday Riley UFO is great if you have some breakouts it has Salicylic Acid in it but it's also extremely soothing and lightweight. I know everyone talks about this next one but it is great, Drunk Elephant Marula Oil. The beauty of the Marula Oil is that there are several sizes and you can also find it in a travel size duo of it and the B-Hydra serum for around $25 I think. So if you're not sure about it but want some facial oils I would get Juno from Sunday Riley and the travel duo from Drunk Elephant. That is *if* you wanted to try "acid exfoliation" that way you'll have the acid treatment and the oil will calm the skin down. Hydration. I think people tend to skimp on deep hydration for their skin. Due to the fear of being oily. That's where a serum comes in very handy and is a great additive. I love B-Hydra from Drunk Elephant its fantastic. I also love Rose Deep Hydration Face Serum from Fresh. It's very soothing, smells amazing, and deeply hydrates the skin. I also like overnight sleeping masks/facials that way it does the bulk of hydration while you're asleep. Fresh Black Tea Overnight Firming Mask is a little thicker but feels great. Laneige Sleeping Mask is like a water cream/gel feeling and is a blast of cool refreshing moisture while you're asleep. Vitamin C. If you're going to use anything please consider using a dedicated Vitamin C. It's the best antioxidant in my opinion, it is the most helpful for the skins health and maintenance. So the ones I recommend are Drunk Elephant C Firma very nice thin serum, Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash serum which is a bit thicker, and Peter Thomas Roth Potent C Power Serum which is stronger but I love the formula. Lastly skincare sets. Skincare sets are how I try most of my products. They're great if you don't know what you're looking for. They're great if you want to try a brand but not sure what to buy. They're great for travel. They're great for just starting to get into more products in your skincare. Drunk Elephant has "The Littles" set which is travel size of every product they have just about. Sunday Riley has the Power Couple Duo which is Good Genes and LUNA oil, so that's a lactic acid treatment and a facial oil that has "retinol like" benefits. They also have a acne set that has UFO oil, Martian gel toner (which I love), and Saturn sulfur acne treatment mask. Tatcha has a bestsellers set of the products you hear everyone talk about. Laneige has two different sets depending on what you want. Fresh has some small and large sets. First Aid Beauty has great sets per usual, I would get the one that has the Radiance Pads in it if it were me because they're a very gentle acid exfoliation treatment and cult favorite.
If you're specifically interested in "clean" skincare, Sephora now has a "clean seal" which means that every product that has that seal is "formulated without: Sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, Triclosan, Triclocarban. All skincare, hair, and makeup brands with the Clean Seal have less than one percent of synthetic fragrances."
