Haul Pt 1 Skincare.

First, this is a collective haul. I don't want you getting all upset that I had a big hoo-rah and bought a ton of stuff (which even if I did, what does it matter?). I give that disclaimer because you know how people are, they get offended or mouthy about anything and everything. So with that sass out of the way lets talk about this.

The reason I do "collective hauls" is because I like giving you my first thoughts on these things after I've tried them, or studied on them for a while or even for a few days. Where as in a video you just show it and you move on. That doesn't really work on a blog. I also like to have quite a bit of stuff to talk about before I consider it a "haul" but it needs to be recent. So this is over the past few weeks of accumulating stuff. So lets get into this.

No particular order
  • Derma Roller. This is a clinical one and it has 540 needles in it. I totally got this on a whim because I seen someone use it to plump their lips. I find it annoying. I think it's hard to keep clean and that's my gripe. I don't feel like it's sanitary. Plus too expensive to buy for a one time use. So, pass.
  • Farmacy Green Clean Meltaway Balm. I use this as a pre cleanse. It's not super oily and messy which is what I love. I feel like Farmacy is always a good brand with good products that you don't have to worry about ingredient wise. They are a "green" brand and I have other reviews on their products that go more in depth about the company it self but if you want a nice light cleansing balm I'd recommend this.
  • Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Mask. This is expensive but I love it from a pampering stand point and I love the glass packaging. It definitely does boost vibrancy immidiately. It smells amazing with no added fragrance. It's an odd texture and feels sticky on the skin when it's drying but I just really love it. It will make your skin glow and that's about it. So it's not necessity but I like it.
  • Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum and Vitamin C Serum. Very budget friendly and lovely products. I have an entire in depth review on them a few posts back so check it out.
  • LXMI Pure Nicolotica Melt. This is a balm to oil. It's pure hydration. It's only one ingredient. It works wonders on dry patches and flaky skin.
  • Kate Somerville EradiKate Daily Cleanser. This has 3% Sulfer in it and some soothing ingredients as well. I love this for when I'm having some break outs. It's gently and doesn't dry out my skin and I recommend it very, very much, if you have problematic skin. You don't necessarily need it if you have normal skin with no real acne concerns.
  • Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream. This is a push down style packaging which is very sanitary and I love that. It's very light and it does feel "whipped". I enjoy this under my makeup, especially if I notice I'm more oily than usual. I love my Dr. Jart Ceramidin almost always but this is very very nice and I think I'll use it a lot this summer. I recommend it for oily skin types especially. Are there other products that work just as well? Sure. It is expensive? Of course it is. Would I repurchase? I'm not sure. I'm going to use it up and see if I really love it for my morning regimen and then we shall see.
  • Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Pads 60 count. These I got specifically because of Caroline Hirons. I had looked at them before but wasn't sure. I've not used them much yet (cause I just got them) but I do use them in the morning. It's a 20% acid complex with Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid, which made me nervous because the Drunk Elephant TLC which is a AHA/BHA blend of those same ingredients didn't work for me. These however have made a difference in a matter of days on some blemishes that were healing that still had redness. I'm really liking them so far.
  • Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Detox Oil. This is basically a "dry" oil meaning it's not overly greasy and absorbs pretty fast. It's not a thick oil it's quite thin. It smells very herbal. It's a good blend of antioxidants and I use it to lock in all my products I've used prior, at night. I will do a more in depth review later on about it's benefits and so on, and put it up against some other oils. Until then if you don't really like the "feel" of oils on your face then I suggest giving this a whirl because it's very light on the skin and it absorbs faster than other oils.
  • Neogen Day Light Sunscreen SPF 50. This is a light weight sunscreen it doesn't exactly have a smell to me. I really love it, and it wasn't super expensive. It's a Korean Brand and they have just a few products up on Sephora but so far so good. They have a wider range of products on Soko Glam. I have more of their products coming actually.
  • Dr Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream. Ok I use this mainly at night and lately a lot because of it's soothing properties. It has the same texture as the Ceramidin. It's different from the Cicapair Correcting Cream in the jar. It's ideal for sensitive skin and dry skin because it's main target is to hydrate and sooth itchiness and redness from dryness. I use it to soothe my skin after peels, intense masks, AHA and BHA acids and Retinol combos. I don't use it every night but it's really nice to have on standby because you'll thank yourself when you need it.
  • Youth to the People Mini Duo of Cleanser and Kale and Spinach Green Tea Hylauronic Acid. Love the cleanser, don't like the moisturizer. It's too watery for me and absorbs way to fast to feel like it's done anything, it may work for oily skin possibly but I'm not sure it would even work for them. So that is a pass but the cleanser is a go.
  • Shiseido Facial Cotton 100 count. Yes this is just expensive cotton pads but they do make a difference, especially with liquid toner. I will repurchase them because they are so much better than regular cotton pads. These were $10 for 100.
  • May Lindstrom Problem Solver Mask and bowl. The bowl is seperate and made by hand by an artist named Melissa Brown. The bowl isn't necessary but I love pottery so I wanted it. The mask is in Miron Glass which is like a blue almost black glass that keeps light from filtering in. It's dated back to ancient times. The mask is powder that you have to add water to. It says to use a tablespoon of powder and a tablespoon of water. It gets slightly fizzy and bubbly and I found that it was too much product really for my mask so I'm going to try a teaspoon and see what happens. It has great ingredients, it's definitely luxury and not a need. It does seem to work though. It gets a bit heated, not hot just slightly warm. I didn't notice results right away but I did have some small imperfections come out the next day that were easy enough to get rid of. I do feel like the product will last a long time and it should considering it's $100. It's another pamper yourself item I feel, but I do like it. Also, I apply it with a brush as I do most mud masks. It's also quite messy when you put it on so apply it over a sink.
  • The Ordinary products. I have a ton. I'm working through all of them as we speak. There are some that I like and some I'm not sure about yet but I definitely like the liquid Glycolic Toner and the 100% Squalane oil. The rest is going to take some time to test but I will hopefully get a review going for you a little bit later on when I can get my thoughts together about it.

Ok so that's the skincare haul! I do have another one cooking up. I think it's already up to 11 or 12 products but to be fair some of those will be sent for testing purposes. The reason this is Part 1 is because Part 2 is going to be makeup. Maybe I'll do a "monthly roundup" of all my skincare and makeup that I've gotten. Perhaps that would be a better title than "haul".
