Smashbox Cali Contour Palette

​Yes another face palette. The reason I wanted to do this right after the Too Faced Face Palette is because it's easier for you to compare them since they're both a face palette.

​So let's get started. This palette has a contour, bronzer, a neutral matte blush, a setting powder, and 2 highlights. Other than the 2 highlights everything is matte finish. The 2 highlighters are smaller pans than the other. All of the shades feel smooth and soft. They have a lot of pigments except the highlights which are more subtle. I don't really like the highlights because either one really works for my skin tone where the rest of the powders do, I also don't feel like they show up very much. So I think that's kinda weird, along with the fact that I'm not sure if there is a darker palette for deeper skintones. 

I find the setting powder to be a little dry. It's also more yellow in tone, sheer, and not very neutral so if you don't like that you wouldn't like this. The contour shade is extremely greyish brown and deeper so it's best to use it with a light hand. The bronzer is a neutral with  little warmth to it and very pigmented as well. The blush is a perfect "sculpting blush" it's a nice mauve and a bit deeper in tone so that you can actually emplasive your contour with it. 

I notice some of the powders seem to want to "skip" while applying to the skin. The can deposit more color in one area than it does somewhere else. Which is extremely aggravating if you're trying to contour. I also notice the contour shade seems to be a little dry, or at least it just looks dry on on my skin. 

So to sum this up, I don't reach for it. It's not horrible, but there are better things in my opinion. I like the concept of it. I love the packaging and the finishes of all the shades. Unfortunately no, I don't really recommend this. There are other things you can get. This is $39. "Total net weight is 0.69oz /20.56 g"
