Things I'm Glad I Bought and Not So Glad I Bought

I thought that as an update on all the things I've bought it might be fun to talk about the things I ended up loving and the one's that were not as impressive. I'm not gonna ramble to lets get into it.

Things I'm glad I bought:

  • OCC Test Tube 12x set. I haven't put these down. If you're a freelance artist or whatever it's a great thing to have for your kit. What I love is that they are designed to be mixed to customize whatever shade you want.
  • OCC Lip Liner set. I got this back around Christmas. It was a set of 5 or 6 lip liners, that had everything from black, white, blue to red, fuchsia etc. It's been really beneficial for adding dimension to your lips as sort of a contour effect and also great for lip art.
  • NYX Tame and Frame brow pomade. LOVE THIS. I like it better than Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow. Enough said.
  • NARS Sheer Glow foundation. I wasn't sure I would like this. I was skeptical. I actually love it though. I love NARS shade range for starters, and I love this formula. It's full coverage but it looks beautiful and wears very well.
  • Amika Hair Mask. I ordered this off Amazon and it was kinda expensive. I love it though. That' saying alot because typically I don't love hair masks because they're so heavy and make my hair oily. This is amazing. It makes my hair feel soft and weightless.
  • Not Your Mothers Clean Freak dry shampoo spray. This is the only dry shampoo that works for me. My dark hair just doesn't do well with them and I can stand how smothering they feel. This doesn't feel that way at all. I'm not sure it would work like on and on without shampooing hair, but for that first day of your hair looking oily this definitely takes care of it.
  • Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless pressed powder. This is just a really good pressed powder, I like it for setting the makeup on the face. Maybe no under the eye but as a face powder it's great.
  • MAC Modern Mandarin blush, When I first seen this it scared me. I thought it would be too much and too bright. It's actually not as dark as it seems. It's a little darker than MAC Peaches and has a slight sheen to it. Becca Songbird blush is actually a lot darker than this.

Things I regret buying:

  • Makeup Forever Pro Fusion Bronzer. I just don't like it. It's way too subtle for me. It's great for those who love the subtle sunkissed look though.
  • OCC Stained glosses. I hate these. I really do. I don't even like them as a general gloss. They're way too thick, sheer, and the stained part of it gets on my nerves.
  • Gerard Cosmetics glosses and some lipsticks. Let me say that I don't hate them all there are just some that don't do it for me. I love Rodeo Drive lipstick and I like 1995 pretty well but I don't like Cherry Cordial, Buttercup (color wise), and I'm not the biggest fan of the glosses I have. They just aren't my favorite formula. Doesn't mean they aren't good and that I won't try some different ones just not too crazy about the ones I have. I still try to use them though.
  • Stila precision brow pencil. I hate this thing. The ABH brow wiz is much better. This is just too waxy and hard to work with.
  • Cover FX cream contour kit. I hate how orange the contour shades are.
  • ABH Titanium shadows these arent that bad but they can get on my nerves. They almost have to be applied with your finger which I don't really mind but even then they can have fall out. I still love the shades Metal and Pink Champagne and use them frequently, the formula just isn't what I thought it would be.
  • Hourglass Modernist Palette. I don't hate the product I just don't like the color I got which was the green shades. I never reach for it and when I do its hard to show that the color is actually green. It almost always looks neutral. So I wish I would've chose a different shade.
  • Bite Beauty lipsticks. I don't understand peoples addiction with these! They are so creamy and moisturizing that they don't stay on for crap and they melt at the drop of a hat.
  • BH 60's palette. I ended up giving this away. It's only applied well when I used a damp brush. It was chalky and rough in texture. I just hated it.
  • LA Girl Concealers. I still use these and like the formula as far as that goes but I just don't like their applicator and packaging. It's a squeeze tube and it's easy to use too much product. Also it dries quickly so you have to work with it fast or it will be streaky as it was applied that way. They're still good especially because they're inexpensive. I just get irritated with them and prefer the Maybelline Fit Me concealer as far as affordable concealers.
  • Loving Tan 2 HR Express Mousse in Dark. I have an entire review about this. I still use it some on my legs and occasionally on my arms and such it actually works better with the st tropez mitt that's just foam and not velvet or suede. I just prefer St Tropez mousse and I probably won't purchase this again.

So that's it. Not trying to be negative at all just because I don't like something doesn't mean it's bad it's just not what I wanted or what I like. So don't get upset if I dont like something you do, it's not a big deal. Use what you like and what works for you.
