Let's talk makeup. I recently got to try some more products from Touch in Sol. I've tried a few of their products before but this time I got to try their mascara and a different color in their Metallist Foil eye shadow duo. I had one but they sent me a different color so I thought it'd be neat to see how consistent the formula was. So lets get on with it!
Usually I would tell you about the brand first but I'm going to start with my thoughts on it first. Then I thought I'd give you the full description of both products and information about the company and so on.
Let's start with the Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo. If you don't know what these are it's a double ended eye shadow cream and loose pigment. I have some tips with this for starters which is apply the pigment with your finger, I find it less messy that way. It comes out on a plastic spatula and it will be a mess if you go directly to your eye lid from there. The first thing you want to do is apply the cream shadow, which is super nice and very pigmented. No patchiness, no clumps, just a great formula and it stays that metallic finish the whole time. Then you would get the loose pigment and pat on top of it to then make it more foiled looking. I've found that the cream is so pigmented that it can completely go over pitch black eyeliner and cover it. Which I recently done and it was awesome. No messing up, just using an angled brush to go over the wing. So there's another idea for it. I have the shades Lottie and Eldora. Lottie I purchased on my own it's a purple shade. Eldora is bronze. The pigment is a very yellow/brassy copper-bronze. They both do amazingly well. It was the first thing the Sephora employees wanted to show me when I walked in. They were almost completely sold out on that day. You also don't need glitter glue or a wet brush to get the intensity or the staying power that you'd need with a typical loose glitter. It adheres to the cream shadow like a dream and again, with very little fall out or mess. Their description of the product is: Combining foil and glitter shadows, this dazzling duo imparts rich, metallic pigment and stunning sparkle for truly show-stopping eye looks. In five gorgeously gleaming molten metal shades – from pale gold ‘Talia’ to burnt copper-bronze ‘Eldora’ – this is an effortless way to flatter and enhance your eyes, channeling some South Korean cool in the process. The next thing they sent was the Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara. I'm super hard on mascaras, I usually only think they're okay or that they're fair. This wand fits my lash line perfectly because it's slightly curved and it's also a pretty thing wand. It does an amazing job at length. If you're someone who likes to use two mascaras, you can do that with this. If you like multiple layers, you can do that as well. I don't find that it transfers to the skin through the day. It goes on the lower lash line with virtually no mess. It's easily in my top favorite makeup product (not just in the mascara category) for the year. I don't think it will be topped. Super lightweight and I notice it keeps curl very easily. This is their description of the product: Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara: Fresh from South Korea, Touch In Sol’s super-light, elastic formulation creates build-able length that lasts all day without weighing lashes down. Enriched with silk proteins, it protects as well as extending, promoting happy, healthy lashes. So to sum this up. I agree with their descriptions. I believe the product delivers and does what they say. So I'm happy to talk about it with you. Here's a bit about the brand. For product junkies who shy away from serious brands and serious investment, Touch In Sol is a welcome change of pace. The brand focuses on fun, affordable products that are made for girls on the go, producing everything from skincare to cosmetics, all of which use natural + botanical ingredients – you won’t find anything on the no-no list here. Founder, Sean K. Lim is super hands-on and insists on trying every single product himself to test for texture, shade, delivery and quality, from cleansers to concealers, moisturizers to mascara. The great part is that until June 30th you will get 20% off your purchase.
