Valentine's Day Gift Guide

Valentines Day is next week. I love Valentines Day. Always have. I just think it's a celebration of love and I've always liked it. I don't think it's exclusive to couples though. I love to give Valentines Day gifts to my friends, I always get Valentines gifts for my mom and I just think it's a good time to show people you love them or that you're thinking of them.

So if you want to for go the standard Valentines Day gifts like flowers (I love flowers though), candy (love that too), and fancy date nights (I prefer my sweat pants in all honesty). I thought I'd give you a list of some good gifts that your loved ones may like. It's not going to be all beauty related either. Nope I'm gonna go the extra mile for you here.
I don't recommend buying perfumes for people unless you know they already love that particular perfume. So I won't be recommending any certain perfume or cologne. However, it is a nice gift if you know that they already like it. It's also an easy gift.

Honestly, my go to gift idea is a "gift basket" type situation. You can ask my husband, my friends, my family, I always give multiple gifts instead of one big item. I just like that. I like recieving stuff like that and I like giving gifts like that because you're bound to have more hits than misses in there. Now I will say the first rule is pay attention to what this person likes and doesn't but you should know to do that already.

So here's my gift basket contents:

  • You can always put a gift card in there. Be it, Sephora, Ulta, Dept Store they love, Starbucks, whatever.
  • Their fave candy is a given. Or some fancy candy like Godiva or even really pretty Macarons of some sort. Of course Chocolate Covered Strawberries are always lovely if they like those. If they don't like that stuff then don't put it in there.
  • A gift certificate for a massage or a mani/pedi is always a good choice. I'm more of a massage lover myself but a lot really love pedicures and manicures too.
  • Some makeup and skincare sets. If they aren't super into makeup then don't do makeup. I obviously love makeup so I would enjoy that but not everyone feels the same. Skincare is a good gift always. You can get just a little gift set that won't set you back much and if they don't like it then they can return it.
  • Hair care sets would be nice or a gift certificate for a blow out. If they like going to a salon like Dry Bar or something. It's a nice gift.
  • If they like a certain brand of jewelry or if there is a watch they've been looking at a lot (I love watches) that's always nice to have in there. It doesn't have to be crazy expensive but if you know they like, for example: Bauble Bar or Kate Spade, they often have sales and really nice pieces of jewelry that you can wear every day if you want.
  • If they have a quirky thing they like to buy for example mine would be: mugs and socks. That's a solid addition to the basket. Something they love and can't get enough of. Some people collect things like Antique Milk Glass, Willow Tree Angels or something. Some people like scarves, hats, sunglasses (sunglasses is a good one!). Find their niche, their "thing" that they love to do or have.
  • Books are a good option if they are a reader. I love books. I love hardback actual books. I love to display them, I love fiction books set back in the 1600's or so. I love fiction with a twist of fantasy like I really like The Tearling, The Girl of Fire and Thorns, right now I'm reading the Silver Witch by Paula Brackston (just started though so I don't know how well I like it).
  • Basically build this "basket" around everything you think they would like and pull from all areas of interest for them. It's a personal touch and don't forget the card. Cards with a little note are always lovely.

Other good gift Ideas I think are:

Flowers that last for a year. These are by Venus Et Fleur. If they love flowers, then these are worth the investment. I myself would LOVE these. You can curtail it to your budget as well. They can be super pricey or you can get less expensive options. I love how they're displayed. They aren't in vases, I think they're so chic and beautiful. You can even chose rainbow roses. I love that.

Edible Arrangements are also very very good. If you're close to one, or can pick them up. I sent some to my friend last year for Valentines Day. They always look cool and they taste amazing. There is also a coupon code going on right now on their site. $10 of $39+ CODE: "SAVE3966"

A spa day would be nice where they could do a massage, mani, pedi and so on. Especially if it could be a "girls day". That's always fun.

So those are my thoughts on good gifts. I'm going to leave so options below of some cool sets that are out right now, some neat jewelry I've seen and so on that I think would be lovely to have. Happy Valentines Day!

These are some pieces of jewelry from the Kate Spade Surprise Sale which is up to 75% off. They aren't super expensive, but I always love their stuff. It holds up really well and it's not crazy expensive.

I also think Alex and Ani bracelets are super cute. They can be layered and they are simple.

I love "value sets". I added in some less expensive options for the gift basket idea, as well as some kinda pricey items if you'd rather get one nicer gift.

  • We got Buxom 3 piece set "White Hot Lips". 2 lipsticks and one gloss. Neutral shades so you can't go wrong
  • Too Faced Naughty Kisses and Sweet Cheeks set. 3 blushes and 3 Lip Injection glosses.
  • Sephora Set In Stone brush set. For a less expensive option Morphe always has good options and I hear Juvia's Place has really nice brushes as well.
  • Amika #TheWiseOne Switch Kit Customizable Set. This is cool you can select the interchangeable curling wand of your choice and then you get 3 Amika hair care products.
  • Sephora Sheet Mask Value Set. This is great if the person loves at home "spa days".
  • Kat Von D Lip Duo: Contour Edition. Mini sizes of Susperia and Melancholia. This is also a great smaller gift to give.
  • PMD Personal Microderm Pro. As you know I love my PMD. You can get these at Ulta or Sephora. The Pro is the only one at Sephora I think and Ulta has a few more options. This is a bit expensive so Ulta has some other PMD's that are less expensive.
  • Dry Bar Let It Blow! Travel Essentials Kit. This isn't as expensive as their other sets, you get quite a bit in it and for everything you get I think it's a fair price.
