It's been a little bit since I've done a Collective Haul. I recently got some cool stuff I feel, and I'd like to share them with you. I know that's a horrible opening line but I've been watching a lot of Kathleen Madigan on Netflix and I've apparently adopted the "to the point" and "matter of fact" tone that she has, which I admire. So there ya go. Moving forward with this haul.
I got a lot of stuff from Ulta from cashing in all my points which was up to $260. I actually halfed it with my friend because it's just fun to shop with friends. So that's what we did. We had our respective mermaid tail blankets, one laptop and a heating pad with some oatmeal cookies in the midst and online shopped for random stuff. It was a great day. Some other stuff is from Sephora, Beautylish even made it into this one, Cover FX and Stila, and as always Frends Beauty because you gotta have Frends.....yes I did do that, no I don't care if it's corny. So lets start with Ulta: I got 4 more sheet masks for #SaturdayNightSheetMask. I'm up to 16 I think now. I got the Tony Moly Snail Hydro Gel Mask because quite frankly it sounded disgusting. So naturally it piqued my interest. I got another mask from Leaders because I really enjoyed the last one I had, when I finally figured it out, and this time I got the Balancing mask. I got a Sea Kelp Mask which I also thought was odd but hey I'll try it. Last but not least I got a "Watery Blue Flower Calming Mask" from Goodal. I love sheet masks because they're an inexpensive way to pamper your self and also an easy way to scare someone since you kinda look like Michael from Halloween. I finally caved and picked up the Pore Minimizing Primer from Smashbox. Not the big guy the travel size guy because it's pretty much the only Pore Minimizing Primer or Pore filling primer for that matter, that I even like and can tell a difference with. I only use it in my T-Zone because that's my only problem area so thus this little travel size will last me quite a while. Plus I love the texture of this, it's thick and I really like that I feel like that's why it does a better job than other primers. Next I got two Catrice Camouflage Creams. I got yellow and pink. Both work for under the eyes. The pink is the Wake Up Effect and the yellow is the Anti-Shadow. Which actually I find yellow correctors work well at canceling out minor redness too. They have other shades and they have regular colors as well to use as full coverage concealer. These are something I find need to be worked with a little bit because they aren't super "creamy" meaning they need to be warmed up with your finger to get the right consistency. They definitely are full coverage and they do work. I love a lot of Catrice products actually. I'm a huge fan of their Waterproof Concealers, they are awesome. I also love their All Matt Plus Shine Control Foundation which is $4.49 and it's pretty full coverage as well. I think it's fantastic. There are also products I hate. I've never found a product in this line that was just "ok" I either loved it or hated it. Which is odd but there are far more hits than misses. I got another Tarte Shape Tape. I went with Light Sand this time instead of just Light. I love this concealer as does most everyone else, so there's no point in me discussing it further. I got a Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter. It's new, it's a duo chrome. I find that I don't care for their highlighters because they never have a sheen to them. The don't act like highlighters and catch the light. This is the same but it does have some color to it and doesn't settle into fine lines or emphasize pores. So that being said it's like the most subtle highlight known to man. If that fits your criteria be my guest to try it out but I feel most people won't like it. I do love their blushes and blush palettes that often have baked shades in there that can pass as a highlight so again they have some hits and misses too. I got the new Bare Minerals Invisible Bronzer in Tan. Alright let me start by saying, I don't own anything Bare Minerals other than the Bare Skin Serum Concealer. I was talked into that by my friend Edie that works at my Sephora (Hi Edie!) and she was totally right because it is lovely and it's a suitable concealer for everyone in my opinion. So I seen that they released Bronzers and Highlights and they looked very lovely. I decided to go for the bronzer because I'm in a bronzer state of mind right now. I'm going to just go ahead and say I love this and it is probably going to be my go to bronzer for the next foreseeable future. They had 4 shades I got Tan which is pretty dark in the pan but it's beautiful on the skin and just melts in to well with the rest of your makeup. They done a fantastic job. I will probably buy the highlighter now that the bronzer has awoken my soul to the possiblilities that I've not given Bare Minerals a fair shot. I apologize Bare Minerals. Lets move on to Frends Beauty: I'm gonna preface this by saying at least 75% of my makeup probably comes from Frends Beauty. They have, in a lot of ways, a better selection for artists than Sephora or Ulta. From SFX to tools to set makeup and to regular everyday makeup. They have skin care, hair care, self tanning and so on. I love their variety and I love the brands that are accesible to me through them. I know I sound like a broken record but if you join their membership you get 10% off your purchase. It's free. I'm not paid to say that I just think it's nice. I'm not sponsored by them. I bought all this stuff. Although they have sent me stuff in the past, I bought this stuff that you see here. First I made my first purchase of Viseart. I bought the Warm Matte palette and the Petit Pro palette. I got the Petit Pro first to see if I really did like the formula. I really liked the mattes (there's 4 mattes and 4 shimmers), I wasn't overly impressed with the shimmer they were good just not life altering. So that made up my mind to then buy a full palette of mattes from them and I do not regret it. They are as lovely as everyone says. Their pigment is what gets me. There are shades that look like there would be basically no noticeable difference in the color if you look at the pans. Then, my friend, you apply them with a crease brush no less and see "oh wow that's an entirely noticeable color difference". Lets face it most of the time we see the subtle color change in the pans but not on the skin but this is not the case which is why I'm now sold on Viseart being the MVP of matte eyeshadows. I also seen where the Theory palettes are at Frends as well as Blush palettes and more. I got 2 Lorac blushes and it's entirely Rheannon's fault. We follow each other on snap chat, we often talk to each other a lot about either nothing or something and one night we swatched our blush collection for each other based on what the other one would like. I was then convinced that I needed 2 Lorac blushes in my life. They are right up my alley though. They are smooth, they blend wonderfully and they're vibrant but deeper shades and I love deeper toned blushes. I got Technicolor which is a darker peach and Aura which is a berry shade I would say. I also love matte blushes and these are both matte I do believe. Frends Beauty started carrrying Inglot last year and I think I placed like 5 orders afterwards. I was so stoked. I will tell you that you are not living life to the fullest in a makeup aspect if you haven't experienced their AMC Pigments. Especially the more duo chrome shades. I got 2 more shades, I think that puts me at 6 pigments in total. I just love them they are so high shine and gorgeous. I love using them with Mehron Mixing liquid on my brush, it's just a good time for all involved. Now lets move on to Cover FX and Stila: First Stila. I got the new Magnificent Metal duochromes in all 3 shades. They're mermaid themed. The shades are Into the Blue, Sunset Cove, and Sea Siren. They're beautiful. I've actually not even tried the original line yet and I want to, to compare them since these three are duo chrome. I'm going to do a full review on them I do believe so I won't go into too much detail about them yet. They're available on Stila's website only right now, and I think they will be in Sephora in April. Now to Cover FX. I went in hard. I got the Full Coverage Cream Foundation in N20, the Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation in G20 and a little radiance duo that had the radiance primer and infusion drops in it. I've not had the chance to really try them all day yet. I can say I do think that I will love one and then hate the other more than likely because they seem very different. I'm waiting to see how they do all day though before I make my final judgements. What I love about Cover FX though is that their products are uniquely different from each other. The coverage is always mind blowing in the best way. Not that it's supreme coverage, some of it is but all of them look phenomenal in what ever category they've been put in. Like Natural Finish is such an odd texture to me but on the skin it's the healthiest my skin has ever looked I do believe. The Full Coverage takes very little product to get to a great coverage so therefore it doesn't feel heavy or smothering in the least. It feels like nothing. Which I find quite amazing. Moving on to Sephora: I actually got a Cover FX item there as well. It was in the travel section for $10. I got the Illuminating loose powder. It's actually quite a good size. I love setting the under eye area with it and I do think that's probably all I will use it for. So I believe this container is going to last me quite a while as I don't bake under the eyes or anything. I also got the new Marc Jacobs set of lip glosses. Which are 3 full size lipglosses and a makeup bag for $54. I know that's a high price but based on how much they are individually it's an awesome deal. It comes with French Tickler (sheer subtle sparkle peach) Pink Steam (metallic sparkle purple pink) and the new shade Want Me? (opaque nude pink). This is part of the limited edition Marc Jacobs X Julie Verhoeven Velvet Reality collection. The art for the packaging and the makeup bag is bold, colorful and eye catching. Completely avante garde and editorial looking in my opinion. There are more sets than just the Enamoured With a Twist collection which is what I have. It's very beautiful and I love the different turn that Marc Beauty took with this. On to the other products that were bought for a purpose: I got the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder in Fair. This is expensive. This is one expensive powder, that even though I do like it I probably won't repurchase. I got this because I'm compiling a 2 part blog post of the best, worst and in between powders both pressed and loose. I didn't just buy it on a whim, I bought it due to the fact that Charlotte Tilbury makes phenomenal products, and that the claims behind this and what people said about it gave me good enough reason to try it. It's supposed to make the skin feel very smooth and look airbrushed (obviously). I will get into it a little more in those posts but the packaging is beautiful and very thin. I thought based on product shots online which was just a front shot that it would be bulkier. No it's very slim and sleek. I like that a lot and it definitely feels luxury. Now for the polar opposite both in price and product. I got the Coty Airspun Transluscent Loose Powder. I ordered mine from Amazon I think it was around $8-$10. It's quite big. I note that this is an under the radar favorite in the makeup community, especially for baking. So I wanted to try it, my first thought is that it looks a bit pink to me instead of other translucent powders. They either look white or a skin tone shade but this one looks pink and it looks a bit like a satin finish from what I can tell in the container. I have this in mind specifically for baking the jaw line. I've heard about it for so long that I just thought now would be the opportune time to give it a whirl. I'm literally swimming in powder folks. Pressed powder and loose, I have a ton that I'm working through to find out what's really great and what's not so awesome. So that covers it for my collective haul. I do hope you've enjoyed it. Come over to snap chat (loveandmascara) to see these things as soon as I get them. Follow me on twitter if you'd like (loveand_mascara) and as always follow me on Instagram (lovemascara) and lets be friends. Okay bye.

As you know, I love MyChelle products. Their Retinol Serum and Brightening C serum is two of my favorite things in skin care. So when I got the opportunity to try some more, I jumped on it. Today we'll be talking about 3 NEW products for fall which is:
Perfect C™ PRO Speed Peel, Perfect C™ Radiance Lotion, and Bio-Firm™ Hydrogel Concentrate. The Pefect C Pro Speed Peel is 10% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C. ($32.50) This is brand new to the skin care community, because it is a professional grade at home peel with Vitamin C, it is " is formulated with a powerful dose of 10% L-Ascorbic Acid, 1% L-Lactic Acid, Plant C-Stem™ and Retinal to deliver youthful, glowing skin. Formulated with 25% Citrus Fruit fragrant puree, in only one minute, this fact-acting peel retexturizes skin while gently exfoliating to deliver youthful, soft, and glowing skin." It's to be used before bed because the skin heals itself over night. Just as our bodies heal their self with a good nights sleep, so does our skin. I do notice that this tingles while it's on the skin (it can be on the skin for 1 minute max) and my skin still tingles afterwards for a few minutes. It can make your skin a little red but it didn't do that to me.
Next is Perfect C™ Radiance Lotion - 12% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C ($45)
This is hydration at it's finest with a "12% dose of L-Ascorbic Acid combined with Plant C-Stem™ and Licorice Extract to help brighten and protect skin from the effects of environmental pollution for a smoother and more luminous complexion." This goes well with the Brightening C serum that I talked about in my other post of MyChelle products. The Brightening C serum is one of my favorite products from them. Their Retinol Serum being my absolute favorite. This does what it says it will do. I use it in the mornings and it seems to give my skin a glow, and it's a really nice moisturizer to use before makeup.
Last is the Bio-Firm™ Hydrogel Concentrate ($45)
This goes really well with the peel. It's actually to be used after the peel to really capitalize on the body's regeneration system and healing process while you sleep. This is "a concentrated 2% Hyaluronic Acid moisture-binding gel that melts to instantly smooth and firm skin. Packed with potent Alpine Nunatak™ Plant Stem Cells and Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract to help firm and provide deep nourishment and hydration." This doesn't have to be used with just the peel, it can be used with any other peel or exfoliator to help repair the skin over night. I do use this right after I use the peel and it's really nice. I can feel it when it dries though. It's good to sleep in for sure. However, if you don't like being able to "feel" stuff sitting on your skin you may want to use less of this. I'm going to leave the link for their site here: http://mychelle.com

Over the last month I have been on a search, nay, a quest, if you will, for awesome AFFORDABLE makeup. So of course some fave stand by brands like Makeup Geek are a given, but I dove deep in the aisles of inexpensive makeup to find hidden gems and try new things. So recently Walgreens started carrying Soap and Glory and No7. Now these are more expensive than your typical "drugstore" makeup but the beauty with this is that Walgreens and Ulta for that matter have coupons and rewards so you can save money. So I'm gonna go by brands. I think it'll be easier to break it into price categories going from the highest to lowest price point as a whole. With Soap and Glory I only like two things so far. The One Heck of a Blot foundation (total recommendation from my friend Rhea) and the Pillow Plump XXL clear gloss. I got mine from Ulta and it was buy 1 get 1 free plus $3.50 off a $15 purchase. The foundation was $19 there though (and still is mind you) and it's $14 at Walgreens. The gloss is $14 at both Ulta and Walgreens though. The foundation is a "Liquid to Powder" and that's true. It goes on really nice with good coverage and dries down to a powder/satin finish. What I will say though is there is only 4 shades and that's a BUMMER. It also doesn't work very good on very dry or mature skin in my opinion. I used it on a client the other day and it just sat on the skin. It didn't blend or anything. On younger skin and normal all the way to oily skin types I think it does really well. I know Walgreens always has coupons and sales, with up to 7% cash back from Ebates. Ulta still has their coupon but keep in mind it's $5 more at Ulta. The gloss comes in numerous shades but I got clear. My reasoning for getting a plumping gloss was because I like the Dior Maximizer and the only reason I use them is because I do use the Lip Enhancer tool that you see from time to time on Instagram. So like I said I like the Dior one but was running out so I decided to get this. It smells like chocolate which is a bit odd but not bad. It's about 3x more tingly than any other plumping gloss I've tried. I use the Lip Enhancer in conjunction with a pumping gloss for a more lasting effect. This is super super tingly. So if you don't like that, don't get it. sNext is No7 cosmetics. I have 3 things from them. The Stay Perfect medium coverage foundation, the shimmer palette in Rose, and the Translucent loose powder. All 3 things are around $12-$14 each. I've only seen this at Walgreens where I live, I know it's sold in Boots as well. This company has a very luxurious feel to them, the packaging looks expensive with the gold compacts, the glass bottles and so on. The Stay Perfect foundation I really really like. It's definitely medium coverage but it doesn't oxidize and has a natural finish. They also come in a ton of shades which is great. The shimmer palette in Rose is the lightest of the 3 palettes I seen. The packaging is gorgeous. It's very similar to a shimmer brick. It has four rows of different colored shimmers for a bronzey-pink highlight. It's incredibly soft. SO SOFT. It has great pigmentation. I would like to see a shimmer palette that has very fair tones because on me the Rose shade is still a bit darker than I would like but it's still wearable. To me this is just as good as the Lorac Lightsource highlight, not as intense as a Becca highlight but similar in texture. The translucent loose powder is really nice as well in my opinion. It's not white, it's an Ivory/beige. I used it to set my under eye and it worked well. I tried to use it to bake and it work fairly well. The RCMA No Color Powder is better in my opinion and less expensive I think. This is more convenient though seeing as it's in Walgreens now. This sets the entire face beautifully and you can really go in and apply a heavy amount and it still look very nice which I like. So whether you apply this with a sponge and heavy or with a fluffy brush and lightly, I think it would work well for you. Next I'm gonna talk about some products from Kiko Milano, which is an Italian brand. They are available online and they do have some very nice products. They run a lot of sales as well which is when I would buy from them. You can sign up for emails and get $5 off your first order I got quite a few products from them because their mascara was on sale for $5 and it's usually around $14. I also picked up some other products. Not everything was great but some things really were. So first I really like the Soft Touch blush. I have shade 108. It's definitely soft. It's also very pigmented when applied. More so than just swatching it on your hand. So bear that in mind and don't get too heavy handed with this. This is currently $3.80 and there are 2 shades. Another blush I really like is the Blending Wave Multicolor Blush. Which is a two tone/ombre style blush. I have shade 4 it's on sale for around $6 marked down from $12. This again is super soft and pigmented like crazy. The packaging is cool and the product looks cool on the inside. It's just all around good. I got 2 mascaras from the company. The one that I like was the Volume Attraction. At the time it was $5 but it's $12 now. It's hard for me to find mascaras that make a difference on my small thin lashes. This coats them very well which makes them more noticeable and really builds at the base of the lash line. The brush is a simple brush similar to my all time fave mascara L'Oreal Carbon Black, only a bit smaller. The pigmentation is really great, it's very black which is awesome and with the fact that it coats the lashes evenly it just makes my lashes stand out even more. Moving onto a more recognizable brand I have two things from Physicians formula. First off is their Butter Bronzer. Now you've probably heard every big beauty guru talking about this and for good reason. It's a natural satiny finish bronzer. I always love their bronzers in general. This one is amazing though. The packaging is awesome per usual. The scent though is coconut tropical goodness. It smells like summer. It's not an over powering bronzer, it's not overly orange, it's just a really good bronzer. It's on sale at Ulta right now for $9. Keep in mind you still have that $3.50 off coupon to consider, plus at least 3% cash back from Ebates. Next is the Organic Wear Jumbo Mascara. This is not something I would typically like, because I'm hard on mascara like I said. The wand is plastic (I stab myself in the eye with those it never fails) and it's also huge. BUT this is really good. It really lifts the lashes in my opinion and doesn't over load your lashes with product so you can build and build without getting super clumpy spider lashes all of the sudden. The packaging again is adorable, it's a big green leaf. This goes for $10. Next is Makeup Revolution. This is sold at Ulta. What I like about this brand is the face palettes they have, except the Beyond Radiance palette. I think this brand has great palettes if you're needing to start a kit or wanting to try different shades of blush, bronzer, contour and highlights, etc. without breaking the bank. First is their blush palettes. All of them. I love all of them. I am partial to the Ultra Blush and Contour palettes out of them all. They have 6 shades that are matte to satin finish and then 2 shades that are highlight/baked/shimmery shades. The formula is great and the packaging is sturdy. These are only $10 and they have a lot of product inside of them. I also really like the Pro Illuminate and Ultra Bronzer. They are both $7 and I'm pretty sure they have .52 oz in the pan, which is huge. The Pro Illuminate only comes in one shade but it's a dead on dupe for the Becca formula. It's a very warm gold shade though so keep that in mind. The Ultra Bronzer is soft and pigmented. It has no shimmer or shine to it which I love. It's quite warm as well but not overwhelming. It's super pigmented so again don't go in with a heavy hand I use mine with a fluffy brush from Real Techniques. The Matte Blushes are quite big as well and super soft. They have very bright colors so I suggest looking at these in person if possible because the one I have is much brighter than it looked online. However, they are only $5 and can be returned to Ulta. Catrice Cosmetics are slaying my life right now. Don't get me wrong there are items I don't care for but a lot of what I've tried has been really good. I have their 18hr wear All Matt Plus Shine Control foundation. This was $5 when I bought it and now it's went back up to $9. Catrice foundations tend to run dark from what I hear and that definitely is the case with mine. I got the lightest shade which did oxidize to a darker shade and different undertone but I figured it would so I was ok with that. They only offer 5 shades which sucks. I will say I use more of this than you would with a normal foundation, I think it needs a generous amount of product to get you the desired full coverage it claims to be. It performs really really well though. I had no issues wearing this for 9 hours. It stayed matte for the most part and it didn't get patchy, lift, move around or anything. So I really really like this. I wish it was still just $5 though cause that's an amazing find. Next is the waterproof Liquid Camouflage Concealer. I bought 2 shades in this, the lightest two. There are only 3 shades and these are super pale so, again, not much to offer in shade range, but I kid you not this is one of the best concealers I've tried. At the time when I bought them from Ulta they were $4 and now they're $6 which isn't bad. I use this on the under eye area and it's got great coverage, while not being super thick. I feel like it's similar in texture to the Urban Decay weightless concealer and better than the Too Faced Born This Way concealer. I can't say how much I love these enough, just try them. Another good product from Catrice is their bronzer. It's soft and a neutral tone. To me I think it's kinda similar to Hoola Bronzer from Benefit but maybe a bit warmer. It's matte and pigmented. It's $6.49 right now. They also have a light shade in it which for very fair skin I think it would be ideal. Wet and Wild has been doing alllllll kinds of good lately. The products I'm gonna talk about are what I feel don't get enough love. Their Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer. This is like $4 and it's better than my Urban Decay, Too Faced, Nars, Benefit, basically all my more expensive eyeshadow primers. I have the oiliest lids ever. There has been no primer until now that would keep my shadow from creasing and this does. I set it with a bit of powder before I start applying my other shadows. My eye makeup doesn't transfer, doesn't crease, it stays the same all day. Next is the Photo Focus Setting Spray. This is around $5. The spray or mist on this is even and in my opinion similar to the All Nighter spray from Urban Decay. Maybe not as strong as that one but close. I think for an everyday setting spray this is really really good. Lastly is their Come Correct Celebrity concealer. This is under $5. This is a dead dupe for the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. Same texture, same thickness, same effect and coverage. I use this to clean up mistakes, cover blemishes, sculpt brows, and even on my under eye area. For the under eye though I recommend blending it out with your finger and not a brush and then setting it, doing one eye at a time. I just like that better because it's so much thicker than other concealers. It's totally full coverage and amazing. Last brand I wanna talk about is Essence. I have a few things from them as well. I got a free tube of their Forbidden Volume Rebel mascara (I accidentally took a shot of the originial mascara and not the Rebel. Rebel looks the exact same in packaging only it's red) with purchase and I like it better than the original which is the other way around for a lot of people. For me though I like this wand better and the way it coats my lashes fully. This is $4.49 and available at Ulta. Next is their Pure Nude Highlighter that's also $4.49. I wish they had more than just one color but this is a good dupe for Champagne Pop I think. It's warm bronze-y shade and super, I mean super, pigmented. I also like their eyeshadow primer: I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base which is $3.49. This isn't AS good as the Wet n Wild but it's still very good. I notice creasing after about 7 hours or so. I will say I hate the color of this. It's very orange. However, after blending it out and applying a light matte shadow to set it, it's not noticeable, on me. So those are some brands and products that really stand out to me, that I feel are just as good as things you would find at Sephora. Other great affordable mentions are: L'Oreal Carbon Black Mascara L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner Colour Pop Gel Liner in Swerve Makeup Geek, JD Glow, Colour Pop, and Coastal Scents single shadows Morphe Brushes new concealer Colour Pop Lip Liners and Satin Liquid Lipsicks Jordana Lip Liners Elf Blush palettes Max Factor Masterpiece MAX mascara I'm sure there are more awesome products that I just haven't tried yet but these are what's standing out right now. I don't hear people talking about a lot of them so I wanted to talk about them. As you well know, I'm a fan of indie brands. Especially hidden gems on Etsy. So recently my friend Lexie (@militaryandmakeup) started up her own brand of cosmetics called The Wicked Beauty. I'm so beyond proud of her. She was one of the first followers I had to support me and my blog and I'm beyond pumped to support her and her company. So what we have is some grease paints, 2 shadows and 2 pressed glitters (in bottle caps I might add!) to talk about. Lets talk about the grease paints first. I think these are so cool. You know the NYX Cosmic Metals I reviewed not long ago? These are better. They are full pigment, they're beautiful colors, and an awesome metallic finish. They do have a fragrance so bear that in mind if you're sensitive to that. Now, the packaging your seeing above for the grease paints are just sample size. You get 5ml of each full sized grease paint for $9 or you can get a sample which is 2ml for $2. Obviously there will be transfer with these because they're more of a thicker gloss, that is loaded with pigment. I apply mine with a lip brush and it works wonderfully, you don't need much either let me tell you. My personal fave is Poppies. I'll leave some lip swatches down below. The next thing that makes me so beyond happy is her pressed glitters. I LOVE pressed glitters as you know. I think they're easier to work with as opposed to loose glitter and they're more opaque. You still need a glitter glue to use them but that's fine with me. I apply these with my finger and I'm set. These do not disappoint. I have shades Troll Sweat and Mermaid Scales. Mermaid scales is my fave and I've never seen a color combination like this one. I love Troll Sweat too though because it's so bright and I love bright glitters. I mean go big or go home. Plus it's in a bottle cap, how cute is that? These work perfect in a z palette as well. These are $7 and have 1.3g of product in them. I use NYX Glitter Primer as the base for these. I'm wearing Mermaid Scales in this picture above. It totally changed the entire look. I just can't explain how much I love this pressed glitter. Next is the eye shadows. These are super soft and nicely pigmented. I only see one shade right now on the website and I don't know the shade names of the two I have. So they may not have released just yet. They are very nice though especially the mauve one, it's a gorgeous neutral shade. The mint shade, I will totally use that not just as eye shadow but as highlighter as well. So I think she done a great job. I truly recommend the Grease Paints for sure, if you aren't sold on them fully then get a sample size and just see how you like it first. Obviously the pressed glitters are amazing too and she has quite a few shades to choose from as well. So definitely check her shop out. I linked it at the very beginning of the post.
As you know, I love Frends Beauty. With all my heart. I love them even more now because......they started carrying Inglot!! I had never tried Inglot before, I'd always heard great things but it was not anywhere around me and I didn't know much about the line other than seeing people use it occasionally as professional makeup. So when Frends Beauty started carrying it, I jumped on it. I bought quite a few products to test out and see what this line was really about and some things I loved, other things not so much. I really feel like Inglot is about mid line in their prices, kinda comparable to MAC. Definitely not as expensive as some brands at Sephora like Urban Decay or Too Faced, etc. Not as cheap as drugstore for sure though. Some things I'm surprised at how high the price actually is and others I'm pleased with how affordable they are. First up, what I wanted to try before anything else was their AMC Pure Pigments. I'd seen swatches of these pigments and some duo chrome looking ones. So I got three 2 are kinda similar but they're so pretty that I don't care. I got shades 84, 86, and 120 (Same order as swatches left to right). 86 was the shade I wanted without a shadow of a doubt. It has a rose gold type shade, a very vibrant duo chrome of pink and gold tones. Shade 84 has blue and purple tones with a darker cranberry/ red brown base. Shade 120 is like a duo chromed bronze green. It's not exactly olive though. They're great. I expected no less. I apply them with a damp brush that I just spray with setting spray or use contact solution to wet it so they're even more intense. I love that these are bigger chunks of pigment instead of finely milled pigment because it just looks like straight up metal on the lid and I think that's why, because this isn't a finely milled loose pigment. These are $16 a piece. If you add in the "Duraline" which is a water less clear liquid these pigments can turn into: liner, lipstick and more. Next I knew I wanted to try their gel liner because that is what I always associate Inglot with is their creme gel liner. They didn't have it in black so I got it in charcoal which is shade 78. Everyone is right this is so creamy and pigmented it glides on like a dream. I find it's easy to pick up too much product sometimes and also because of how creamy it is it's easier to make mistakes. However, eyeliner is one of the easiest things to clean up. Just take a clean angled brush and dip it into some remover and sharpen those wings like knives. This is $14. Something that I got that I really wasn't impressed with was the Long and Curly Mascara. I don't know what possessed me to buy this because I never like most mascaras. I just felt like this one didn't do anything at all including coat my lashes. I felt like it was so thin in formula that you could barely tell if I had any mascara on at all. So that was a fail. This is $14 I tried one of their foundations and this was the biggest surprise out of all of this. I think it's my all time favorite foundation. Like my holy grail. Which is the Inglot YSM Cream Foundation. Now, before hand my fave was probably the NARS Sheer Glow but this one has taken it's place. There was limited shades. So I was just shooting in the dark. The one I chose was #49 when it got here it looked so dark. In the container and on my hand both, it looked incredibly dark. So I was thinking "well that's just great". However, once applied because of it's medium coverage and healthy glow it was a perfect match! I've never had a foundation match my skin that good. Its super light weight, it feels like nothing and it also doesn't have to sit on the skin for a minute before it looks good. This looks beautiful on the skin as soon as you blend it in. I use a kabuki brush for it so that I have a little more coverage. Also because it has some luminosity to it so I don't want a damp beauty sponge to mess with the finish or coverage of it. It was one of those things I noticed right away, Most times when I try a foundation it's like mid day before I notice if my skin looks noticeably good, for those foundations that have made me notice my skin that is. This wasn't like that I blended it in and just stared at my skin. Before powder, concealer, or anything I was just so in love with how nice and healthy my skin looked. It didn't get super shiny through out the day. It did just a touch but basically it stayed the same finish and color (didn't oxidize) the entire day. So this is A+ for me. This is $18 Lastly I got the Under Eye Corrective Illuminator. I have dark circles and I always use a corrector. So I got this because it's pen style much like the MAC Light Boost, and YSL Touche Eclat pens. This has a good amount of pigment. It came kinda broken though their was a ton of product in the lid so it was super messy. The product itself is nice but probably not something I would get again. So it's just "eh" in my opinion. Nothing wrong with it but didn't blow me out of the water either.
Last week Ardency Inn sent me an awesome package of everything up above. They also made me an affiliate with them which I'm very honored that they wanted to do that. Basically I just wanted to give you an overview of their products because I've been using them for about 2 years and I really do love them. I honestly don't even know where to start. So I guess I'm gonna start with what I know the best which is their eye shadows. They are Manuka Honey Enriched Pigment shadows aka: super intense. I have 5 shades all together. My favorites being Royal and Rose Gold. Royal is a gorgeous Royal Purple. It's a true purple not so dark that it looks black. The shade Rose Gold is a darker rose gold in my opinion with not a ton of pink in tone. The other shades I have are Peacock (duochrome of teal and red brown), Copper, and Sunday. Copper needs no description its straight up copper a light toned copper. Sunday is a true gold. All of these are wonderful, I've not been disappointed by a single shadow yet from them. Next Punker Liquid Liner. I was running out of mine so I'm so glad they sent back ups. Not only is this a waterproof but it's jet black and very pigmented. Some liquid liners are not as opaque black they're almost sheer or too thin in liquid to where they run on you. So this doesn't budge, it makes a fierce wing, and I also use this in artistry for detailing or drawing for costume makeup or sfx makeup because this gives you a lot of control. It's also more of a matte black finish and not shiny black. Which I like. They sent 4 Modster Supercharged Eyeliners. The colors are: black, gold, blue, and brown. I definitely wanted black to use in my water line. Everyone talks about how great it is in the water line. I find it is definitely the creamiest for the water line but it doesn't stay there. So if you're gonna use it for that then take it with you for touch ups much like you would with other eyeliners. Next is the Modster Big mascara. I actually really like this! Typically I don't like many mascaras. I do like this one though. The brush is curved and quite big but I like how it builds up the lashes. I have short, thin lashes and this isn't clumpy or messy at all, at least for me. I have two Modster lipsticks in shades: Valentine, and Love Cat. Valentine is a great warm rose neutral shade. Love Cat is a classic red. They feel great. As with any lipstick you'll need to re-apply as the day goes on but I love them, they're very pigmented and creamy, which is all I ask in a lipstick really. Lastly I have a loose pigment in Friendly Fire. It's a white duo chrome sparkly shade. I love loose pigments, this is no different. It has a sifter which makes life so much easier. I'm SUPER pumped for this. I'm gonna leave some pics below of me wearing some of the products. You won't be able to really tell with the mascara but hopefully other things you will. Some products I haven't gotten to use just yet but I will, trust me. Here I'm wearing Copper on the lids and Valentine on the lips. Here I'm wearing Modster Supercharged liner in Black and it's smudged out. I'm using Punker liquid liner for that ferocious wing you see right there. I used Punker liner for the drawing and also Royal eyeshadow for the purple in this "Suicide Squad" Joker look. I used the Punker liner for the detailing and drawing of this "torn comic book" look. Here I'm wearing Rose Gold shadow in the center of the lid. This is basically all Royal shadow with some glitter over top.
As I said earlier, I am now an affiliate with Ardency Inn so if you use my code "LOVEMASCARA" you will get 15% off your entire purchase on their website. Mmmmk so this is kinda a strange post too, however I just happen to like telling you things that I like. (and no this isn't sponsored). I'm from Tennessee so I've always liked tea. Mainly though it's always just been iced sweet tea or a flavored iced sweet tea. I love blackberry or raspberry unsweet teas, especially the ones from Sonic, Cracker Barrel, or Logan's steakhouse.
Lately though, I've been drinking hot teas. I've probably been doing that for around a year, but it's just as of the last few months that it's become a daily thing. It started with Green Tea and Chamomile as a way to improve my health and immune system. Then I started drinking Celestial teas in Vanilla Sleepytime Tea, which I drink before bed. I also drink Celestial Peppermint tea and Honey Lemon Ginzing Green Tea (in the morning). It took me a while before I could drink hot tea and like it. It wasn't something I ever like. Not one bit. Especially the Sleepytime tea. However, when I found the Vanilla I really loved it. Mind you I'd gotten used to the Chamomile and Green Tea before finding the Vanilla. So now I drink tea twice a day. The Sleepytime Tea is just what it sounds like, it's organic but it chills you out and helps you get to sleep and relaxes the body, which is why I drink it. Chamomile is obviously very good for your immune system, overall health, if you're sick mixing in some honey and lemon is very helpful especially if it's a cold or something similar. We all know the benefits of Green Tea so I won't get into that. Peppermint tea helps heal the stomach which is great for me. It helps relieve nausea and irritable bowel syndrome and what not. Also good if you have a flu/cold cause it eases the coughing. It's helpful if your stressed. Some think it's actually a appetite suppressant (unlike the next one I'm going to talk about) and I've heard some say it helps with headaches as well. Recently though, I've been learning about teas that are more beneficial for your body. One of those being Dandelion Root tea. I get the completely Organic one. To hit the high notes: it helps improve liver function, detoxes the body of toxins, is a diuretic that helps get rid of bloating and flushes the body out (which may or may not be a good idea for you so consult a doctor before drinking it.), it's a light laxative. It's also supposed to "improve your immune system". I've seen where some recommend 2 cups a day but I just drink one. I can't say that I enjoy the taste of it but it's not the worst. I try to get in a cup everyday just because of the benefits that it has. It also is said to "improve appetite". I would say I agree with that so far. Which I don't necessarily like but it's not a bad thing necessarily. For iced tea I really like Pomegranate tea from Tazo. They use that at Starbucks but you can buy it at the grocery store. It's nice to mix with Lemonade as well. I also have a off brand Wild Berry Hibiscus. I make both of these in a large pitcher with nothing added. I add a dash of raspberry sometimes or Stevia to sweeten it up when I pour a glass or tumbler full. I like iced flavored Green Tea as well. I don't drink it as often as my hot Green Tea though. So that's all my teas that I drink and love. I've never tried "fit teas" or anything similar to that yet. I would like to at some point but I'm really enjoying just hot tea at the moment. It helps calm my stress and my stomach. I thought maybe it would be something interesting if you were looking to try some teas. I really recommend the Celestial brand and the Tazo of course.
Today I want to talk to you about a brand I recently got to try. It's MyChelle Dermaceuticals and they are not exactly new (they've been around since 2000) but I'd never had the pleasure of trying their products before. I'd seen them in Ulta some and I know they're available a few other places. I've also heard people speak on their products before.
What really caught my attention was the Remarkable Retinal Serum. I had been wanting to try something with "Retinal" for a couple years, I'm just 28 but then again I could also word that as....oh my I'm almost 30. As of late I've noticed more fine lines around my eyes mainly. I've had to be really picky with concealers and you'll note from my last concealer review I did, I didn't like the concealer because it went into my fine lines and made them more apparent. So after that I really decided to step up my "anti-wrinkle" game. I've always used moisturizer, toners, all that good stuff but eye cream wasn't something I used until about 5 years ago. So now I feel like I'm paying for that. Thus, back to "Retinal". Retinal is a form of Vitamin A (a strong Vitamin A at that), also an antioxidant, helps promote collagen, and prevents and helps stop the aging process such as wrinkles. Now some people hear "Retinal" and start worrying because it has a reputation of "irritating the skin". That's more likely for the "prescription retinal" more so than the non-prescription kind. Which could still be irritating to skin I'm sure, but if you have sensitive skin in general a lot of things can be irritating. So this particular product is 3 fold. It has Retinal (called IconicA which is a patented, strong form of Vitamin A), Ceramide 3, and Orange Plant Stem Cells. These combined combat dark spots and discoloration, promote skin renewal, and help make those pesky lines and wrinkles look better and less visible. It's Dermatologist and Allergy Tested. While looking on the site I also seen that it was EWG Verified and I'm just going to quote you this straight from the site: "Made without GMO, Gluten, Parabens, Petroleum, Phthalates, Silicones, Sulfates, Ureas, Artificial Fragrances, and Artificial Colors. Vegan. Cruelty-free." So that already is a huge plus. So far I'm really loving this serum I use it every night after I've cleansed my skin and I apply about 2 pumps and then I wait for 30 minutes and apply my moisturizer. You don't have to do that, but it does say "for maximum benefit, wait 30 minutes before applying your moisturizer". It hasn't bothered my skin in the least (for reference I have normal skin) and I love the way it feels. I've not been using it for that long but honestly my skin seems to love it and I feel like it's tightened it up though it's been a short amount of time. Really impressed with this and it is my favorite out of the 3. Next up is also a serum and it's the Perfect C Serum. This has "17% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C " which again helps against lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C also is very helpful in "brightening" the skin but this specific one is the only one as of yet with an effective anti aging benefit.. You'll note that Vitamin C is used in skin care a lot but this serum actually has "Buddleja Plant Stem Cells" which is actually where you're getting the brightening from in this case. This is of course Dermatologist and Allergy tested as well. It's good for all skin types It's also EWG Verified. I use this in the morning before my regular moisturizer. I can honestly say that my skin looks super healthy and bright. Almost glowy even. The consistency of this is like a typical serum in my opinion where the Remarkable Retinal Serum is a bit thicker in consistency. Either way it definitely makes you look more awake, healthier, and fresh looking first thing in the morning. Lastly is the Sun Shield Unscented SPF 28 Broad Spectrum. I believe this also comes in Coconut if you prefer a scent. Now what I think is cool about this is several things: it says it's "gentle enough to use on infants that are 6 months or older", it's a clear matte finish, it has Vitamin E and Aloe in it which both soothe irritated skin and help with sun burns (if you already had one) plus it's using "Translucent Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide" in place of some rather harsh ingredients that other sunscreens use. Also for those of you who are especially sensitive to fragrance this is obviously unscented. It also is said to be "environmentally safe" with UVA/UVB defense. So to sum all that up, it's a powerhouse of a sunscreen that has everything you could probably want in one bottle. It's super light weight and truly matte finish (at least for me anyway). It's something I don't think twice about putting on because I know that it's doing more for my skin than just protecting it from the sun. It's also good for all skin types as well. So here's my thoughts on this company. I have looked through many products and what I find through reading and also using their products is they want to be as healthy for the customers using it and also for the planet, as they can be. Which you don't see that much of. These days you're lucky to get a company that's cruelty free, vegan, or gluten free. To have that and so much more is really such a huge compliment that they value your health and skin that much to go the extra mile. They're products are very "clean" and "natural" so you won't find much that is questionable in them. in my eyes they really engineered a new way of thinking when it came to "nautral" skin care products. Let's be honest, natural products to us is usually just Shea Butter or something with Coconut Oil in it. Or a mixture of Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter and assorted things that are similar. They really changed the game by introducing plant stem cells. anti-aging peptides, and so on. I'm gonna leave their motto or statement below from their site which I feel sums it up best. "MyChelle’s scientifically advanced formulas are based on clean, natural bioactives that provide unmatched, professional results. All MyChelle Dermaceutical products are Vegetarian, Cruelty-free, and Free of Phthalates, Parabens, Sulfates, Ureas, Artificial Fragrances and Colors, Petroleum, GMOs, and Gluten." When I look at these things their products are formulated without above, it makes me so appreciative that there is a company willing to cover all bases like: Gluten Free ( I know all too well about gluten), Vegan, Cruelty Free, Sulfate free, etc, etc. It's not made with just one person or group in mind, but everyone in mind. They don't cut corners on the more natural route even though I'm sure it's probably made things harder for them or more tricky I guess in formulating their really advanced skin care, to put out such good products and be so health and environmentally conscious. If you think this is just a pitch then go check out some drugstore or even high-end skin care and see who has a cleaner product as well as a more effective product. I'm willing to bet this brand will win most of the time. I'll leave the link here. Or just go to http://mychelle.com to check out what they have. Super easy to navigate through their system an find what you're looking for, **sponsored post So recently I got the opportunity to review some new products from The Estee Edit. I have the Pore Vanishing Stick, Beam Team, Flash Illuminator in shade 4 Day Light, and The Barest Lip Color shade 05 In The Buff. So Estee Lauder is known more so for appealing to maybe an older target if you will, even though we all know we love some Double Wear. Don't play, if you don't love it you've at least owned 1 bottle. I'm not kidding Double Wear is the OG of good foundation. Moving on, they have introduced The Estee Edit line which is full of tons of cool and innovative products. When I say innovative I mean it. I shit you not, they have a lip stick transformer (2 actually) that LITERALLY makes doing an ombre lip a piece of cake as well as just making a lip color into something entirely different. It's incredible. They have a ton of new products, I actually viewed them all in store with my friend Edie who works at my Sephora in Knoxville. If you live around here go in and ask for her she really knows what she's talking about. Anyways, from packaging to the line itself it's all REALLY REALLY GOOD. I'm so impressed with what they've done and all I can say is it must have taken a long time to get all of that together because..... it's a lot. So starting with the Pore Vanishing Stick. I love this product. I don't know about you but when I use other pore filling or minimizing products, that you apply before makeup or touch up with, they tend to have that "slip" feeling which is usually from a silicone ingredient and for whatever reason that makes my foundation and makeup slide right off my face. It makes me super oily, it just doesn't work for me. This on the other hand is stick form and thus goes on the skin and then when you touch the skin, after applied, it feels.... like skin. Like you didn't do anything at all to it, but your skin looks smoother or mine did. Now I'm not saying it made every large pore disappear but I was able to wear a ton of highlight and pretty much apply it to my entire face without making my pores look humongous. So I really like this. Now, for whatever reason after I used it my stick started to get bumps in the product which is why I'm not showing you what the product looks like in this post. It's not a big deal but it is something that I feel when I apply it to my skin, I feel the bumps in the stick now when it used to be smooth. So I still use it and love it but just so I'm being honest that has happened to mine. Next is The Beam Team. This is a cool product. This is basically an illuminated cream/moisturizer with a cream poured highlighter on top of the twist off cap. I don't used the highlighter in the cap that much but this cream is so nice. Mine comes out quite golden but when rubbed in, it sinks into the skin and feels good like a really good moisturizer would. I have used this applied after foundation, with foundation and on it's own and I like it every time. I will say that if you don't want specific areas to have some "glow" to them you may want to apply this before foundation or to specific places after foundation. This is also great if you don't want to wear foundation but you still want to look healthy and well....glowing. So days on the beach, lake, or just running errands this is perfect for those "skin focus" kinda days. Next is the Barest Colour lipcolor in 05 In The Buff. This is a sheer to medium, high shine, super creamy neutral lipstick. This shade is actually pretty dark on first glance but swatched it's a medium mauve with a hint of brown. Applied it gives the lips just enough color. No it's not gonna last all day but this is great for those who are running late, don't want to think about it, don't want to worry if your lipstick is jacked up in a meeting, or whatever because it will apply easily but as it fades it will do so unnoticeable. Plus we all carry lipstick in our purse for touch ups anyway. Last is the Flash Illuminator. This comes in a few other shades and my shade is Day Light. I probably wouldn't have picked this color for myself because it has kind of a pink undertone, but this makes great cream blush that can double as a highlight, or be a base for both blush or highlight. Which is actually how I like using it, as a base. I will be honest though and say in general I don't use cream blushes or highlights often. They've never really been my thing but this is a pretty thick formula and beautiful product that does what it should do so I have no complaints as far as how it performs or is made. Below I'm gonna add in some pictures of swatches and me wearing the products. I applied the creams with a damp sponge and you'll see once they're on they just make you look really healthy and glowing. **I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.** Wearing Flash Illuminator in Day Light, the Beam Team all over, and The Barest Lip Colour in 5 In The Buff. Pore Vanishing stick was applied before foundation. Flash Illuminator in 4 Day Light Barest Lipcolour in 5 In The Buff So this is the Beam Team. The color in the lid is not super pigmented, so don't let the color fool you or intimidate you. The color of the cream looks super yellow gold but worked into the skin it's not so yellow gold. Don't let that fool you either.
You can get this at Sephora, Nordstrom, Belk, and Dillards I'm sure. Here's some promos for Sephora. Use Ebates and get you some cash back. Sephora has 8% cash back right now. So I've already talked about the new Benefit launch of brow products in the last couple weeks. I did a more in depth review of the Ka-Brow product. So I'm not going to talk to heavily about that. I did get the Goof Proof pencil and the 3d Brow Tones though and I wanted to discuss both of those with you. For reference all 3 products are $24 each. There are roughly 12 products in the whole collection including tools, brushes and all. First up lets talk Goof Proof pencil. This pencil on first glance is like a prettier version of the ABH Brow Definer. BUT on closer look it's not exactly angled, it's more diamond shaped kinda as opposed to triangular, with the longer part being the tip of it. I'm gonna get straight to it and tell you that I like this a lot. I think I like it a bit more than the ABH Brow Definer to be honest and I never thought I would say that. This is SO easy to sculpt the brows with where as the Brow Definer is so easy to fill the brows with and give some shape too but not harshly sculpt. This deposits color easier and the shape of the pencil stays pretty thin so it literally GLIDES on the skin. Where I feel like after the Brow Definer has been used quite a bit you have to work harder at getting it built up or shaped the way you want it. Now in saying that, I know this is called the Goof Proof pencil but I have gotten a little crazy with it and made mistakes, it's easy to clean up and it boils down to me not paying attention really. However, it does make brows easier and it's super quick and easy to blend out or clean up but just note it will very easily deposit color where you don't want it if you aren't paying attention. So I use shade 5 just like in the Ka-Brow. There are 6 shades so ideally I would like to see more shades but whatever. I think it's a really good product none the less. Plus the packaging for this entire collection was inspired by "magic wands" and lets just say...I have a Gryffindor scarf in my closet. Soooooooo.......well done Benefit, Well done. Next up is the 3d Brow Tones. Now these come in 2 shades. I got shade 2 because it was lighter and I heard that if you wanted it to be more noticeable on the brows, to get the lightest shade (2) even if you have really dark hair. So that's what I did. It is noticeable, don't get it twisted it is noticeable when close up. Which you wouldn't want it to be noticeable far away. In pictures of close ups of my eye makeup I see it better than when I look in the mirror. I don't mind how it looks, I just don't feel that it makes it look any more dimensional or more natural looking which is what I've heard several people say that it does. Perhaps it does for them and that's awesome, for me however I don't view it as a game changer or really that much of a help. I like it and I'm gonna keep it but it's something that I sometimes forget to use or that I don't give much thought to. So it's neither here nor there for me. I think it's a very cool concept but it's just not "up-ing" my brow game for me like I thought and hoped it would. Also seeing as I got the lightest shade and it's just noticeable enough I'm guessing the darker shade wouldn't have been noticeable hardly at all in which case I would've been very bummed. Lastly is the Ka-Brow which I've talked more in depth about in a previous post, which I will link here, so I'm just going to update you on it now. I still don't like the brush but I took some scissors to it and it's vastly improved. I still think it's great for sculpting a brow with a lot of detail. I prefer the Goof Proof to the Ka-Brow personally because it's easier to work with and easier to blend, but if you really want a pomade/gel/cream brow color I would still recommend this one.
So that's it. These are available online and in store at Sephora and Ulta. Remember to use Ebates and get you some cash back on your purchases, if you don't know what Ebates is I'll link that post here.
