Next up in my little installment of "roundups" of brands that I enjoy in certain categories, is going to be "organic skincare". If you're not sure what I'm talking about I will link the first post here. I started with "Clean Beauty" which overlaps with quite a few other genres but I wanted to do a dedicated post to organic skincare simply because there are so many great brands that do an incredible job at their craft. They really have a passion for it, they're typically a small or even one man show. They also make some of THE BEST products that will feed your face. As you know I love me some nourishing, super food products, that will literally feed you skin. I'm also going to stick to brands that offer a few products not just one or two. I like for you to have options. Starting us off is one that I talk about all the time. It's Granola Goat. Yes, you did see that coming. I don't know if I ever shared how I started using Liz's products but now is as good a time as any. I seen someone that had reposted a half off sale she was having on Instagram probably a year ago, maybe more? Anywho, everything was half off. So I ordered two oils I think. Maybe 3. What drew me in was that there were very few ingredients. At most of all the products I have of her's I think there's been 4 ingredients maybe 5. I thought that was really easy, to the point, you wouldn't be spending hours researching ingredients you've never heard of. So I was in a Blue Tansy kick so that was what I was looking for. In doing so, I found that Blue Tansy wasn't knocking my socks off for my skin but Carrot Seed Oil was definitely my jam. I ended up using probably 75% of her products and I still do. I love the 24Carrot Oil, I love her Omni Balms (all of them), and I love her dry masks in particular the SOS Mask which is great for breakouts. Liz just kills it. She became my friend. She's my "botanical guru" and I will always direct you in her direction, especially for facial oils.
May Lindstrom also makes some of the most beautiful and luxury products. They're a small team. They're filled with a lot of love though. She uses miron glass to house her products. The cult favorite is probably Blue Cocoon in my opinion. It's a beautiful blue face balm that smells amazing and as Caroline Hirons would say "it's lush". I think my favorite product is The Problem Solver dry mask it's an antioxidant mask. It warms up some on the skin. It will last me years. You get a ton of product. I also really enjoy the Honey Mud mask. It smells so good and it's so nice. She also sells this beautiful treatment bowl which is handmade by an artist who is Melissa Brown Ceramics on Instagram. It's so pretty. Next is Apsara Skincare. They have a really nice range. Their Neem cleanser is one that I've went through a few times. Their spray toners are a delight. They also have a face mask that is a natural AHA and it's really impressive. They're affordable. They offer everything from skincare products, hair products, products for infants, etc. Their website has a ton of information. They're kind of an unsung hero. I don't know why more people don't talk about them. LUSH. They are the coolest brand I've ever scene. Their soaps, bubble bars, bath melts, and bath bombs are a work of art. They also have some really nice hair care products. My huaband has used the solid shampoo bars. I prefer Big Shampoo. It's the weirdest sea salt- goopy feeling texture I've ever scene but I does give your hair so much volume. They have the coolest gift boxes that are super colorful. A lot of their products are colorful and fun actually. My favorite bath product is their bath melts and then the bath bombs is a close second. I've even had their fresh masks that have to be refrigerated. They're brand and their vibe in regards to how the stores look with products being in wooden shelves and such, to their black plastic tub packaging with a sticker on it saying who handmade your product is just unique in my opinion and I love it.. Look up their "how it's made" videos on youtube. I loveeeeee watching them. Especially Outback Mate soap. Buca Botanicals....I've never used up an oil so quickly. They have a really cool vibe, you'll constantly see crystals and such in their skincare shots. The Brahmi oil is lovely but my favorite is the Camellia Rose. They offer body and bath products as well including perfume oils. I just find them really interesting. Lastly would be Mahalo Skincare. They are based in Hawaii. They're the most loving and positive brand I've ever seen. They also put their products in these bamboo containers that are so simple but elegant at the same time. I really enjoy the Mahalo Balm. It's quite a bit of product, a little thicker than my typical face balms or concentrates. I want to try their Rare Indigo Balm because it seems to be a fan favorite and it's the most beautiful pale purpley-blue shade. They also have a Petal Face Mask that is a pale pink and gorgeous. They take time to really engage with their customers and they have such a passion for what their doing that it's hard not to respect and appreciate that.
